This small, warm Ukrainian school is full of the sweetest families and kids in New York. We started when our children were 2nd grade and 3 yo. My older daughter had no exposure to Ukrainian and they worked with us to phase her in. After 5 months she was reading and writing in cursive Ukrainian, and had caught up with her age group. This year's 3rd grade class has reading, writing and vocabulary assignments for homework. In class, they act out little plays, read together, write on the board and sing songs. My 3yo son loves attending the little preschool there with the beautiful classroom and warm teachers that speak both a English and Ukrainian. The class sizes are very small and each student gets a lot of attention and support. It's a VERY affordable school which is a welcome surprise in New York.
The kids enjoy a recess half way through class with healthy and delicious snacks. There is an active parent PTA that puts on programming throughout the year, including christmas caroling, making pysanki, etc.
The location is perfect. We always get perogies after school. I highly recommend this school! read more
