This university is right in the heart of Roanoke Park city. It is very family oriented or that's…read morewhat it seems like. It is a good campus that is plain and is small enough to where you will get the education you need and not have to run around all about the city to get from one place to the next. The different building/halls are close enough to each other to what you're not walking a very long distance.

The Weills live in Sonoma and I joke that after his years at Travelers, Citicorp and Shearson he's been trying to buy back his soul. [My dad worked for him in one of their many satellite offices, my sister and I met Sandy Weill in an elevator, funny story] The Weills' money is quietly invested here in the beautiful Green Music Center at Sonoma State College in a natural landscape filled with field flowers and lush grasses. The campus itself is spread out with plentiful student housing rumored to be pretty posh and spacious. Sonoma State seems to have a focus on liberal arts with a concentration in the arts and STEM. The outdoor pool adjacent to the gym is pretty good but the locker rooms are dated, cramped and dirty and in need of an overhaul. You'll see evidence of Peanuts' Charles Schulz at Sonoma State. He was a Sonoma resident as well. Nice campus, small, quiet, tucked away in wine country.

My friend and I had a very poor experience at this beauty school on Saturday. The school is very…read morerun down, only two wash basins-sinks are working and had hot water, the pedicure chair coverings are in tatters, many of the student stations don't have a mirror so that you can see what they're doing, there was no sanitizer being used in between using clips and hair implements on different clients. I had a manicure and deep conditioning treatment and my friend had a pedicure and a deep conditioning treatment. Our appointment was at 11:30. There were only three students who could do nails. My friend was not started on until noon. The two instructors didn't remember what services we were having, first a barber student washed our hair and put the conditioner in and a different student blow dried it out. The instructor advised the student doing my blowout to use a hot iron on my bangs, I have fine hair -all he needed to do was use a round brush while blow drying to turn them under -my forehead got burned from the steam. The student who did my friends blowout sprayed so much product in her hair it appeared greasy when it was finished. The same student did her pedicure, he was nervous, (her toenails needed to be cut, his hands were shaking) so she did not ask him to cut her toenails, he only filed them. Complete waste of our money and three and a half hours. I don't think the students who go here are getting a good education.

The inside looks a little bit old and out of date but don't let it fool you. I got a cut for my 10 yr old and myself. Mine cost $10 and my sons was $8. The people are very friendly, wait time less than 5 minutes and we had no appts. One of the instructors cut mine because I wanted my hair cut choppy, short complex cut with a razor. She was awesome and I could tell she was a good teacher to the students there as well. I had showed a picture to her of what I wanted and it turned out identical to the picture. My son also liked his cut and again turned out identical to the picture he was shown. His was done by a student. I WILL BE RETURNING AND MAY TRY A NEW COLOR!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
