Booked a lesson for my aviation enthusiast boyfriend with Flight Training London based at Elstree…read moreAirfield. I was surprised at how much you were allowed to take control of on your first lesson. My boyfriend was able to take off, fly and land the plane with just instructions from our instructor. He has had quite a lot of experience with simulators though. The best bit was that I was allowed to tag along for free at the back of the 4 seater plane! Much better than watching from the ground. The school itself has a real sense of community with everyone we passed saying hello, waving and making chit chat. I believe they also have a social club which is nice.

Booking online is very easy and any inquiries are responded to quickly as well. We arrived a tad early but our pilot/instructor had no problem starting upon arrival and providing us a nice tour of all of the simulators they have on site. Each simulator is approximately 10,000 GBP and they have 15 at this location for the various Boeing and Airbus models. Unfortunately the A380 and 787 are not at this location. Public use of the flight simulators did not open to the public until three years ago. On to the actual flying... The simulators have hydraulics so it really as if you are taking off, landing, or just flying through the air. Our instructor Stuart Slater explained every detail of the plane and walked through all of the knobs and switches of the control panel...and there are a lot! He then proceeded to step by step walk through how to steer the plane and how to complete a take-off and landing. You could tell that he really loved his job and loved flying! The planes have various airports loaded in them and so we tried out NY JFK as well as LHR. We got to fly ridiculously low and see all of the computer generated images of the cities. The images are very realistic and even show moving traffic on the appropriate side of the road respective to each country. Great once in a lifetime experience and worth the price.

The staff and instructors were all friendly. They put our birthday boy at ease, gave him clear instructions, and took him out for a fly. They offer a variety of intro courses, from short 30-minute lessons at just £49 up through several longer, more adventurous, more expensive options. Of course, they also offer proper flying courses for those who are looking to qualify. A nice gift idea, and a fun day out.

The main reason I moved to London back in 2001 was to study at LAMDA. This is predominantly a drama…read moreschool, but I had been accepted for the 2 year Stage Management & Technical Theatre Course. I was expecting so much from this course, I was really looking forward to studying here. It seemed really hands one, which I preferred and what drew me to the course but I was disappointed within months of studying here. The most important thing that prospective students should know about the Stage Management course is that the school *do not* encourage you to work outside the course as it is very demanding. This is hard if you've just moved to London, have spent thousands of pounds on fees and have no extra money to live on. I found this really taxing on both my freedom and my wallet! The actual course itself had elements I did actually enjoy like the museum trips and the visits to other theatres and getting to see all the action backstage. There were far too many boring / technical elements to the course, which I really didn't enjoy. I felt the course could have been a little more creative - the art and audio elements of the course were really enjoyable. Overall, the lack of creativity bored me and the controlling element (the fact you are expected to give up work and a social life!) really annoyed me, so much so that I left within 4 months. If you are totally set on being a Stage Manager, then you should come here. They have good contacts and a solid reputation. Their drama course produces really talented actors and is not to be scoffed at but if you agree to all my points about, you should really think about applying elsewhere...
I did the Dance Foundation course here and was unimpressed. The teachers were nice and fun and of…read morecourse some were better than others- but I didn't feel like I learned much I could take away. Most of it was routine- in which case I could've just taken an equivalent number of dance classes. It wasn't very foundational at all. I've had about a year of dancing behind me and I've tried tons of schools and around 30 different dance teachers in London. I'm now in the dance foundation course at Ruggieri Academy and it is a million times better with a similar format. You get homework, videos, and most importantly learn technique. I think if you're a beginner, I would recommend that one instead. At least you walk away every session with key principals in mind. It may be a slower way to learn but ultimately effective. I did Dance Foundation a few months ago and have nothing to show for it. Except a hole in my bank account. Cause that's the other thing- this place is almost double the price of the other dance studios. Maybe it is more suitable to advanced dancers- I don't know.

Not bad for a small gym. The gym is easy to get to being in the shopping centre. Its easy to park…read morein the shopping car park, especially if you park on the same level as the gym. On an Induction tour, I had a quick look at the gym which had the usual modern gym equipment with a few TV screens. Not one of the biggest gyms I've seen, but seemed okay for the number of people using it. The swimming pool, was a bit too small for my liking. Its not a full length pool, and can get quite busy at times. The changing rooms are quite modern, and the sauna and steam rooms are larger than other gyms I've been to. Overall, the changing rooms, are better equipped and designed than most other gyms I've been to. Overall verdict, convenient if you live and work in Ealing, but otherwise I would go for a bigger club, for more space.

In the club you will find a varied mix of styles from Cuba, Colombia, Puerto Rico and New York. The vibe is fun but some guys on the dance floor take it very seriously. It is great just to watch. This place gets packed out as it is a good place to practice your moves out of the classroom. The look of the place isn't great and I sometimes feel like I have stepped back in time when I walk in the club but this is a functional place to meet people who like to dance salsa. If you want to venture out of the classroom then I would definitley recommend this place.

The party was very busy, but the level of dancing was low, the room was way too hot (this was in December), the smell of body odor was nauseating, and I didn't find people terribly friendly (I asked four women to dance, and only two accepted). I am not able to comment on the quality of education, though the Steiner philosophy is sound. The best thing about the school is that the children seem so happy. The building is really spectacular, if a little rough around the edges. The interior is amazing, with a central area as the hall, with all of the classrooms off to the side. There is no playground as such, but there is a park right next door, which the children use at break time and after school. If I had children, I would definitely consider St Pauls.
