I find theatre a very liberating hobby, which allows me to express playfulness and creativity. Emilia is a great teacher with a lot of energy. She puts a lot of efforts into the school. Last term she wrote the script of a funny and fantasyful play and we did an open rehearsal in front of a small audience which went very well. Islad is also a place where you meet really interesting people from all over the world. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Both events exceeded my expectations: I was very impressed with the high standard of teaching and also with the artistic quality of the production. I am Portuguese, and, to be honest, I was amazed to find out what your accent can achieve in only 12 weeks of training. The class space is a charming theatre studio, a welcoming creative environment. The website is easy to use and the courses are very accessible (and cheap!), and you can design your own study plan and work at the same time. There's a friendly and international atmosphere, I met people literally from all over the world who are living in London or just passing. This is a really new way to improve your English, you don't even feel as if you were studying. I strongly recommended it to anyone interested in Language and in theatre.

Its one of Europe's most innovative dance spaces, where artists from all over the world come to push creative boundaries, to experiment and to perform outstanding new work for audiences who expect to be surprised, inspired and delighted. The Place also has a 280 seat theatre, an extensive range of classes, courses and participatory opportunities for adults and young people, and professional development programmes for artists. The theatre holds over 200 performances a year, including festivals and special events. I went along to The Place to see the performance done by Protein "May Contain Food". This performance runs from Thu 21 Apr to Sat 7 May but touring after this. The whole performance was very interesting all about food. First of all you enter a big room full of tables around the side all decorated differently some was done up with dried pasta laying across the table, some full of vegetables, some full of feathers laying across table etc. The table I chose was full of fast food wrappers and containers I don't like fast food but it looked more colourful and fun compared to the other tables. Also the main lead was the waitor for our table as the performance is all about waitors/waitresses, family/friends and food. They dance and sing about food teaching us about where food comes from, how we should appreciate food, how are life if revolved around food etc. Throughout we got tastings like a tomato and we had to roll it across our face, feel it, look at it, hear it etc to appreciate it. This was a fun unique way though with a very artist performance played out by the cast. I particularly liked the part when they was singing about meat they acted like animals, funny. Has to be seen to understand whole concept of performance.

Thank you and Mrs G for a very enlightening day, your time, the generosity of your knowledge (in bite size portions) really was much appreciated. Your hospitality and the welcome we received in to your home was amazing - can you tell I enjoyed myself?! I honestly learnt so much, from a better insight to the culture, the origins of ingredients, seeing, smelling, tasting lots of new ones and the wonderful assault on my senses. I truly felt the warmth in your teaching and yet again you have inspired another group of complete novices to give it a go. I can now begin to make my own home garam masala, with an incredible and very delicious base to work from. Life is a feast to be enjoyed and all of the family are up for giving this a go, so I will starting with a banquet of the dishes we created to build up my confidence and we will take it from there.... Please pass on my best wishes to Mrs G - she's amazing and an absolute treasure. I will forever more be embracing my inner Indian!

Nikita and his lovely mum, Mrs G, give a highly entertaining and informative romp through Indian culinary culture, spices and ingredients before throwing you into heat of an Indian kitchen. We made Bhaji's, dal, cashew nut rice and shrikanda for desert. Even better we got to eat the delicious results with the other participants with a cold beer at the end. It was some of the best Indian food we'd ever eaten. With a focus on the the basic processes of indian cooking we left with a geniune new set of skills and have reaping the benefits with our cooking at home ever since. Our young children, having not liked curry previously, are now asking for this every weekend. Highly recommended - can't wait to do the next course.

The course lasted 4 hours which went by very quickly - the range covered was extensive. Lou was very knowledgeable about photography - the course was well structured and she is an inspiring teacher. We had many different cameras in the group both compact and DSLR but Lou moved effortlessly between them, explaining the buttons and menu systems. I felt the teaching was individual to me when I asked a question - this was helped by the class size being kept small - there seemed time for each of us. Everything from start to finish was hands-on practical advice with projects to show how each thing worked. I found a few buttons which I had never found before (round the front) ! Even with a few rain showers that day Lou was able to keep us dry without any detriment to the learning experience - we were able to move undercover very easily the route is obviously well planned to take account of being outside. There were notes to accompany the course - I have accessed them online and they cover most of what we did in a slightly more technical way (having done it in practice first, the technical side is a lot easier and the camera manual makes more sense) Realistically you do need to keep practising what you learned either by going out fairly soon after the course or doing another one. What I learned most of all is that you can read about photography , apertures, ISO, depth of field etc till the cows come home but applying it practically is a different matter. You can't learn all of photography in a day but this course is a great start. I am looking forward to extending my knowledge into the creative course next.
