The clocktower of Machynlleth is the main symbol of the town. The Big Ben of Mach! It was built in honour of Charles Stewart Vane-Tempest, Viscount Castlereagh, of Plas Machynlleth.
Only in Leicester there is a similar tower. Restoration work is urgently needed for the upkeep.
