When in Graz, seeing Schlossberg is a must! This beautiful clock tower & surrounding garden area offers the best views of the city. It's definitely a hike to get up here, as it is a viewing area and one of the hugest points in the city. So you can get some good exercise and then be rewarded with a beautiful sight of Graz's cityscape. There's a lot to walk around and see up here, beyond the clock tower. The gorgeous flower gardens are right below, there's multiple viewing decks around the top, plenty of benches and places to sit and enjoy the quiet, a museum, a city citytop restaurant, and even a performing theater. Love it, great place to visit, everytime i visit Graz i can't go without a day on the Schlossberg. The view is amazing, as the tunels are too, would suggest you to take a ride on the tram that takes you to the top. Nice caffee on the top of it, with reasonable prices. Deffinitly worth the visit! read more

Schlossberg is a must see while in Graz. You can't get a better view anywhere. I was in a wedding that happened up here. You can't drive up without a permit, which are hard to get. You have to take an elevator or tram, which are fairly inexpensive and quite fast. The tram operates late on weekends (2am). We drove up with the wedding party, but went back down in tram and called a taxi to meet us at the base. Up top there are several lookouts over the city, a pretty clock tower, gardens, and restaurants. There is also a pavilion overlooking the city. The wedding occurred there, which was a gorgeous setting. We took pictures up top as well- very scenic. Then we walked to the restaurant up here for the reception. I highly recommend the restaurant. It is really good, though pricey. The banquet room was very nicely sized and had gorgeous, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city. At night it gave a whole new view of twinkling lights. Overall, a great experience and the best lookout over Graz. read more

Absolute beautiful view from the top. Nice restaurant to have lunch, dinner or a drink. Very cool and necessary to visit when in Graz. Take the tram up the front and then when you're finished you can walk down the hill in the back. read more

Gorgeous and a must see. Climb the steps in the front and go down the back, or go through it and see all the tunnels that served as bomb shelter in WW2! The garden is just absolutely beautiful. Drink beer on the west side outside and watch the sunset behind the mountains with a much better atmosphere and beer than the indoor restaurants. Simply put, you have to go on top of Schlossberg if you are in Graz. The history is really cool and worth learning as well. read more

Schlossberg is a very interesting landmark of Graz. It has a deep historical root with the city, being one of the last strongpoint of the Austrian EMpire and never taken by the Napoleon armies. It is also a great city hike with steep paths and lots of stairs through the little forest on this hill. The views on the hill and from the Clock Tower (including the Alps) are breathe taking and definitely picture worthy. read more
