Schlossberg is a must see while in Graz. You can't get a better view anywhere. I was in a wedding that happened up here. You can't drive up without a permit, which are hard to get. You have to take an elevator or tram, which are fairly inexpensive and quite fast. The tram operates late on weekends (2am). We drove up with the wedding party, but went back down in tram and called a taxi to meet us at the base.
Up top there are several lookouts over the city, a pretty clock tower, gardens, and restaurants. There is also a pavilion overlooking the city. The wedding occurred there, which was a gorgeous setting. We took pictures up top as well- very scenic. Then we walked to the restaurant up here for the reception. I highly recommend the restaurant. It is really good, though pricey. The banquet room was very nicely sized and had gorgeous, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city. At night it gave a whole new view of twinkling lights.
Overall, a great experience and the best lookout over Graz. read more
