So good! Definitely one of the best croissant bakeries in SF. We went on a Sunday morning close to…read more11 and there was a long line. It took about 20 minutes to get to the front, which wasn't too bad. We had the potato mushroom, caramel apple, pistachio and plain croissants. The croissant had a nice flaky crust and had all the pockets you would expect from a good croissant. They were all delicious but our favorite was the apple and mushroom potato. The mushroom potato was one of the best savory croissants we have ever had. The Apple croissant tasted like apple pie. There is no seating in the bakery. They do sell cute merchandise worth checking out. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit!

Would I wait 2+ hours for any baked goods? Probably not…read more I've done it before and I realized nothing is worth the wait. That's why I decided to take my chances around 11am when the line was significantly shorter. I waited maybe 15-20 minutes. Downside was I didn't have too many savory options left to choose from. I had only one savory option left: the butternut chorizo croquiche. Only thing I wish they did was separate the savory from the sweet because when we bit into it, pieces of chorizo fell onto the dessert-y pastries. Reminded me of that Friends episode where Rachel made a beef trifle for dessert. *I wasn't supposed to put beef in the trifle* I think the savory pastry was the best. We also had the chocolate chip cookie (not my fav, too crumbly), the banana pain au chocolat and the lemon vanilla bean filled cruffin. I'm having vague memories of that last one. I just remember it was really messy when you unleashed the cream. Among the sweet desserts, I liked the banana chocolate croissant the best! It wasn't overly sweet. I also got the salted maple pecan latte and I really enjoyed their housemade whipped cream! And the latte wasn't too sweet either :) I expected to spend a pretty penny on 4 pastries and a latte. It was ~$40 overall. It was less sticker shock and more quiet resignation. Anyway, I would still happily try their pastries again as I know they have a seasonal menu, but you won't find me in line at 7am.

The owner came over and introduced us to the jars that are all around the shop. You can open these jars to smell whatever spice or tea to get a feel for what you would be purchasing. If I remember correctly, the owner and his girlfriend blend it themselves. We purchased some flavored salts, and cranberry apple jam honey. They also had samples of a white strawberry tea that was amazing. This store is great and the service from the owner was fantastic from a details end. I appreciated what they were doing and definitely will be back when we venture out to Pier 39 again.

We also got a pumpkin chai latte and that wasn't the best either. Not worth what we paid. Service: (6/10) I have mixed reviews about this. Our cashier was a 10/10. He was so kind, nice and cool. The woman who made our drinks was very stand-offish and not exactly what I consider customer service friendly. The man who manages the place swindled us and I didn't appreciate that. He really sold us a story that him and his gf are the owners and that they made everything in house and on their own. We later found out that these are franchises and their stand alone shops exist in many places. We thought we were supporting a family-owned business and we bought spices and drinks to help him and his gf out. He may have been a great salesman but not cool, dude. Not cool. Ambiance: (5/10) nothing special. It's cool that you can smell a lot of the spices and teas though. Really helps you decide on what to buy. Additional Notes: the spices are pricey. A 1oz bag is $8

Loooooove this store - small but mighty! There is so much to see & buy - from sauce to fresh pasta…read moreto a copy of The Pizza Bible (my husband has a signed copy!) The whole ambiance of the store is such a vibe - my husband and I love it. Even down to the music being played. It passes the vibe-check as the kids say. lol. I've been in for their soft serve & cannolis - both so yums! You can never go wrong with soft serve! You can choose from either a cone or cup & they have a bunch of toppings - even the olive oil & sea salt which I have heard AMAZING things about but I am a plain-girly so I opted for a plain soft serve on a cone. EDIT: GET THE OLIVE OIL & SEA SALT SOFT SERVE - ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG, it's LIFE CHANGING! I would never think the combo works but it freakin' works! lol. TRY IT, you won't regret it! If you go here & don't get a cannoli, did you actually go here? Just asking. Cannoli choices: Plain, Pistachio, Chocolate Chips & Rainbow Sprinkles. My go-to is Chocolate Chips, it never fails! A great thing about their cannolis is that they make 'em after you order! Fresh & hot off the presses! They also have coffee but I have never tried it BUT it gives me a reason to come back!

In addition, each piece was surprisingly FRESH and you can tell. If it was frozen prior, then you sure did a great job making it taste as if you just caught it from the ocean. The fish was falling apart and thick slices/fillets, the shrimp was bouncy and the fries were thicc. The batter was light and there were no air gaps and it was not greasy at all (someone is a pro at the oil temperature I see you) I've never been defeated by a plate of food before but I do dare say it was almost too much for me. Highly recommend (may take a while for your food to arrive but it is worth waiting).

A good friend of mine and decided to spend the $8.50 to cross the bridge and head into San Francisco for fish and chips. I ordered a two piece fish with fries and my buddy did the same. He thought two might be enough and almost bought a three piece. He is glad he didn't. The fish were good sized, had a nice crunch to the batter, tasty batter, tender, flakey and fresh. The fries were the best ever. Nice and crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle and you could taste the potato. Fresh fries fried perfectly. I didn't get around to writing a review after my first visit and I took another friend recently. The fish and chips were just as good the second time around. If you are in the City and want some excellent fish and chips you have to hit The Codmother.

We placed our order and waited for about 20 minutes. After our server delivered our food, Steven whi is the owner came out and greeted everyone. He came to our table and check up on us and chatted. I was eating a hamburger and was taking food from other. Steven noticed I didn't have any utensils and brought out a new plate setting for me. When we have left over, he brought out extra buns, lettuce and tomato for us to put the extra steak so we can make a sandwich later. What a kind and considerate man. We ordered the Tagiota Burger. It huge and perfectly seasoned. The patty is crispy outside with all kinds of toppings. It is one of the best burger I have. The beef empanada is filled with beef and very filling. The milanesa is the Argentina interpretation of country fried steak. It has cheese, ham, and tomatoes layered along with perfectly cooked French fries. Portion is generous. Good to see you again Tanguito…read more I had the skirt steak with fries, and those fries were seriously good. Thick-cut, crispy, flavorful, and easily some of the best fries I've had in San Francisco. I could have eaten a whole second order. The skirt steak came medium. They didn't ask for a temperature, and I normally eat my meat rare, so I was a little nervous. But it was still juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Argentina knows its beef. And then there's the owner, who made the experience even better. He was genuinely kind, and we ended up having a great conversation about his garden, his house in Buenos Aires, and his country Argentina. That kind of personal connection is something you don't always get when you're grabbing lunch. Great food. Great prices. Very welcoming. They've been here since 2008, and yesterday happened to be their anniversary. Happy Anniversary, Tanguito! I'm coming back for the choripán next time. That one is already on my list. A little food truck, a little Argentina, and some seriously good fries.
