We came to this area to try Original Stroopwafels which is located in the Albert Cuyp market. It's like a farmers market so you just grab your food from a street truck and go. My husband and I wanted to have a latte with our cookies so we came here cause its right next door and seemed cute. The woman/owner or whoever she was wouldn't serve us cause "she prefers no outside food."
Look, before anyone starts lecturing me, I understand that outside food is a no-no to most establishments. But there's industry rules and then there's common sense. In business, ultimately common sense is what leads good service; all rules can be bent and everyone in business knows this! Let me make this part clear: your cafe was EMPTY. Like honey, business ain't bursting at the seams and you have only 70 reviews on Google. Please spare me the attitude.
The shop is located in a market area packed with street carts and tourists, so people shouldn't be so uptight. If someone wants coffee but also has a freaking cookie, I don't get being so difficult. If I had come without a cookie, I could've still sat and ordered the latte. But because I also had a cookie, they didn't like that. Good business owners would've employed common sense and been nice Especially considering your cafe was empty. From a business standpoint: make 7 euros and get new customers OR enforce your bulls**t policies, make nothing and get a bad review. read more
