The snack stand outside had a lot of variety of snacks. We watched the Batman movie "Joker" on Halloween, and was very surprised to see how many people dressed up as Joker on Champs-Élysées after the movie was finished. Overall it was a good experience, and a nice place to relax after a long day of being a tourist.

It is a wonderfully different experience to see a movie in English with French subtitles. My bigger beef is with the "pass illimite" which is the unlimited monthly pass which they sell for the ridiculously cheap price of 20 euros. I think they want to make it particularly difficult for non-residents to get the pass, as you have to have a French bank account in order to get the monthly pass. Boo.

We refused and insisted that they dig the ticket stump out of the pile that says we already paid for the glasses (this is where it's helpful to be fluent in French). They refused and we had to argue with them for 10 mins before they finally just gave us the glasses. When we went into the theater several other families were complaining about the same scam. Be warned, not an honest business. To add insult to injury, the power just went out in the entire theater. what a joke

The fixtures and fittings have had a long and hard life, but we can somehow overlook this in the overall ambience (the seats may be tired but they are not wrecked). But once you start getting down to problems like the sound cutting out (I know, these things happen) it gets annoying. What is difficult to deal with is the lack of any efficient ventilation (nevermind airconditioning). A very full theatre on a summers evening was claustrophobic overheated and bad smelling. Overall a great place to watch a movie, but adjust your expectations for the comfort level.

But thats far too much to expect apparently. Aside from the previously stated shortcoming that it is small, the service is abysmal. The seats are antiquated and uncomfortable (not to mentioned putrid smelling), they use old projectors so the quality of the films are significantly lowered, and the popcorn couldn't be any older or more stale.
