It was once owned by Luc Besson, but he sold his stake in the theater to another group. That's fine, as long as they keep the theater running and awesome. When we were in Paris, the repertoire movie they were showing was by chance, one of my husband's favorites - Fight Club! The theater itself is almost like an art museum, with a cool little tree shaped bench that is attached to the celling in a mushroom style, right in the middle. The screens in the theaters are top notch, with clear imagery, amazing sound, and comfortable seating. They even have fancy snacks, like ice cream, high end chocolates, and even Starbucks coffee! If you're a movie lover and you're visiting Paris, you'll have a plethora of theaters to visit. But definitely make Pathé one of your options!

If you purchase your tickets for a 3D movie you have to pay…read moreextra for the glasses, then when you go through the ticket line they rip off the part that says you already paid for the glasses and try to make you pay for the glasses again. We refused and insisted that they dig the ticket stump out of the pile that says we already paid for the glasses (this is where it's helpful to be fluent in French). They refused and we had to argue with them for 10 mins before they finally just gave us the glasses. When we went into the theater several other families were complaining about the same scam. Be warned, not an honest business. To add insult to injury, the power just went out in the entire theater. what a joke

They also tend to show very good short film programs and have a nice space for fancy but packed cocktail parties. They don´t sell seat-tickets and let the visitors figure out the seating themselves (no ushers). Decor and interior is pretty dated. Entry control seems to be quite lax, one of my row-neighbours got a kebab with fries inside and was eating it during the movie. Not nice at all having to smell his lunch while I was trying to enjoy a movie. In the (mostly tiny) down-stairs Screening rooms, you can hear the Metro and feel its vibrations during the movie. There are far more modern and convenient Cinemas in Paris.
