They're right near the ticket counter and naturally the door to the Men's room is propped open. I stood there pissing and could make eye contact with people standing in the ticket line. But I won't complain too hard 'cause the room smelled like you'd gutted a large animal inside it. The smell inside that room with the door closed would have been horrendous. Leg room. None! I'm 5'10" and I had to stand for there to be any chance that anyone could walk past me. And after going back into the theater to get the discount ticket for parking, one machine breaks and the other one says that the discount is no good. Awesome!! The next movie we see in France we're going to a different theater. Oh...and the dude sitting next to me..... with the beautiful woman on his arm.... had rockin' BO.

Knowing its history made it difficult to watch The Fall Guy The facility is almost a hundred years old and it feels it. The seats are old, small, and uncomfortable. In its proper context, I'm sure it was magical in its day. It is a one time experience.

There are special series of classics, openings of new films with the director present, animated films on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Special programs for young people. Even Tango lessons. Louxor was built in the 20s for silent films in the neo-Egyptian style. Some of this flair remains outside and in the large salle even after its relatively recent rebirth and refurbishment by the city of Paris. There is a tiny very cozy café whose balcony looks out on the quite beautiful Barbès elevated metro station with the Tati clothing store looming above it. Buy a pass for just over 50 Euros for 10 entrances. I live just up the street and go often. After the film find a simple Algerian restaurant in the neighborhood. Avoid the Brasserie Barbès. Visit and support all the independents in Paris!
