Small place with limited equipment. Extremely inconvenient location. The staff is dishonest and unprofessional. Instead of a kickboxing kids class for my son who had prior experience, the actual class turned out to be a karate type beginner kids class with a bunch of little kids. Mostly 4-5 years olds half the age of my son. It was extremely underwhelming. The instructor was a nice guy and he was genuinely surprised that we were told by UFC gym manager that this would be the right class for my son. My son also tried private lessons and that turned out to be a really lazy effort with the instructor only interested in getting paid. More than half of the lesson was spent talking to other people and doing everything else but actually training. As shady as it gets. For the private lesson on top of the price quoted it turned out to require an additional $100 per month membership fee. This membership was required for four lessons for a kid. In addition, the guy wanted another fee that he did not want to explain. I am guessing that it was a membership initiation fee. When I told him that this was not the price given initially and it is rediculous for four kid's lessons the guy became angry and rude. The cost of the private lesson for a child including the gym fees was roughly $200 per hour. There are plenty of other places around that have better facilities and actually make an honest effort to train. Adults and kids. For less than half the money UFC gym demands, you can have top-level wold class instructors who actually will put a 100% effort into a training session. It is extremely disappointing that people who run this location of the UFC gym think that it is ok to demand these delusional prices for kid's lessons. read more

Came here today to try out the gym and wanted to get a gage of what the boxing class would be like. I enjoyed the boxing class, the trainer LJ was really nice to me even though I was dying lol. The class was good I think for someone trying to learn boxing fundamentals while also getting in a good workout (like myself) The gym is pretty small, the pictures on the ufc gym site kinda led me astray but it wasn't bad. The locker rooms were also small but that's life. The workout areas were clean, up to date and every part you went to someone was getting busy! I love to see that! One guy was a little pushy when I was trying to ask for more information about prices/packages/details but I think it's because he was trying to get a sale while also running a ultimate training :) Everyone seemed nice and helpful and I think I'll be back for another class real soon! read more

This gym sent me to the collector's office, they are coming after my credit score and life. Went there with my colleague and join the gym on trail for a month in April. I only filled out an intake form regarding my information, but nothing regarding agreeing to be charge or re-new membership. I didn't received a key card with them, decided not to renew with the gym, because the hygiene at the gym cost me to get an athletic foot (during Brazilian Jiu Jitsu people weren't wearing shoes or socks) and I also move on to another job involved with more travel. Ever since then, I been getting non - stop scam likely calls. Yesterday, I got a call from the collection office telling me. I owe the gym 800 dollars and if I don't pay it off they are going to mess up my credit score. What a nightmare to deal because of a gym membership. Email Jason and haven't received any info back. I've been training here for almost 5 months and my experience has been really powerful. First of all the gym has an amazing group of people and coaches like Jason, Daniel, Amadeu, LJ, Johnny, Erick, Natalie and Rob. They make you feel like your development as a fighter really matters what makes you very motivated for the classes. I come from a Japanese martial arts background and I'm always very picky in terms of technique. You can rest assure that people know what they are doing here because they have the experience under their belts. Techniques here are effective and it feels empowering every time. This is by far my favorite gym that I have ever been to. I was a little hesitant at first because of the name but once I walked in I felt more than welcome. They truly care about helping you reach your goals. From classes, personal training and nutrition advice they truly have it all. It is more than a gym but a community of people motivating eachother. I have tried it all and the results I have gotten from just taking their group classes is amazing! This gym has been my haven during endless hours of working from home and social distancing. I walked in UFC on a whim after I had decided to join Equinox Seaport and am so glad I did. After, speaking with Jason for about 5 minutes it was clear this is a gym which is serious about working out and is also a great community with plenty of space for everyone. So I immediately signed up. At 50 years old, I am unlikely to be the next MMA superstar but at this gym it doesn't matter. I am both pushed and treated with respect like everyone else. The instructors here are absolutely phenomenal - always giving you a great work out and never "mailing in" their performance. I recently moved out of the city temporarily due to the pandemic but there is no way I am giving this place up. This place is awesome. So accommodating for me and my two kids. Josh is 5 and takes youth wrestling. Since I have been taking him, I have become interested in the gym. Now I get trained my Tyler who is a kids coach and my personal trainer. He's great, and very patient. While getting trained my 1 year old wouldn't stop crying to have me hold him so I did while still training. I also have a bad knee and his work out is helping to strengthen it. Jason has been flexible and accommodating. I can't even tell u how much that means to a working mom with two kids that really wants to just work out. I've been a member at this gym since they first opened their doors in December and I can hands down say that I've rarely had a complaint since joining. I had never taken any boxing or MMA classes in the past but the trainers here are super helpful to new members and will work with people individually to help them get their hands wrapped and teach them the fundamentals. This is a great gym to get your feet wet in MMA and it also has a small weight and cardio area. For roughly the same price as joining a regular BSC around the area you get the gym plus hands-on class time. This is still a newer gym for the most part so some of the kinks are still being worked out but if you can bear through it, it's worth it. Equipment is always being put back Plenty of space and always a good vibe I had some problems canceling my membership but Jason held me down and refunded my accidental charges the next time I stopped in. Today I went in to sign up for a free class. One word high intensity! Sean the trainer who conducted the class is challenging and helpful and he kicked my behind today with the workout he set up. Starting from the warm up to the stations I really enjoyed the class. Jason the owner was very pleasant and offered me a affordable great deal! I've been a member here for a little over three years. The clientele is a surprisingly broad mix of people at all different levels of fitness and with different goals. Despite the name of the place, you shouldn't think of it as only an MMA gym. They cater to a wide variety of people. I suggest walking past the place in the evening on a weekday, the windows are huge so you can easily see what I'm talking about. The staff here is great, though I admit some of them look a little scary, they're all sweethearts and know what they're doing. The owners of the gym are regularly there and are constantly making improvements. It's clear that they care. They recently expanding the mat area that's used for various classes and expanded the locker room considerably. I've gone to a number of gyms over the years and tried personal training a few times. Tyler King at this gym is really the only one that has been effective for me. Not only is he extremely knowledgable, but he's the first trainer I've worked with who actually keeps my goals and my fitness level in mind on an ongoing basis. I recently had a medical issue where it wasn't comfortable to lay on my back and he readily adjusted my workout to account for that. I am 42 years old and in the best shape of my life. My absolute favourite gym!! Clean, great atmosphere,everyone is nice and super friendly and the coaches know what they are doing. They keep pushing you to work hard no matter how hard it gets, you'll defenitely feel sore the next day but it means your body is responding right!! I'd give this place 6 stars if they have a parking lot which is not possible in downtown area. But finding a parking spot is not hard at all especially after 6-ish pm. They have all kinds of training classes available kickboxing/cross fit training/mai Thai etc. I'd definitely come back more often and might try their personal training session as well cause all their coaches have nutrition certificates. Over a year ago, I joined the UFC GYM in Boston. Immediately after joining, I began taking personal training sessions with Tyler King. I have noticed a great improvement in my ability to throw power punches. I meet with him almost every week. My goal is to keep on improving my boxing and Muay Thai skills. Passed by this gym a lot when it was under construction at my last job. My new one pays for employee fitness memberships so I thought I'd try it out based on the "Get 4 Days for Free!" trial membership advertised here on Yelp. Got a call the same day after filling out that form but the guy said they just don't honor that offer and I could get a single free session. Turns out you have to bring a credit card for fees they charge for your free session too. After setting up a session for this Wednesday they kept calling and calling. One girl told me she wanted to sign me up for my trial; after telling her I was already signed up she said I wasn't but she'd add me to the calendar. Then yesterday I got an email asking me to confirm my attendance at that session. I replied that I was signed up for the next day actually (I'm quite sure since I made notes of the day, date, session, and the trainer) and asked them to double-check and get back to me. No response. Last night I started feeling sick so emailed that I'd like to reschedule to the following Wednesday. Again, no response, but I did find that my email crossed paths with one of theirs where they'd already canceled my Wednesday session! read more

Great gym! Most of the classed are a lot of fun, super motivating and a great workout. Some instructors are better than others, Lj is the best in my opinion, highly knowledgeable, Kin and James are really great too. There is one instructors class who I prob wont go back to. He tends to single you out or rolls his eyes at you, doesn't do many combos and all rounds are freestyle luckily he doesn't teach that much. Overall worth the price. Locker rooms are really clean and the facility itself is pretty well maintained. I would recommend to anyone looking to switch up their workout. read more

All the trainers are great. But the manager running the business is terrible. They change the price without informing you. I think they added some equipment and have more clients, so they don't care about existing customers who paid lower rates? Haley is an awesome coach/trainer and goes above and beyond to not only give a good workout, switch things up to make the classes fun, and teach proper technique. The manager Jason has been great too - bringing in new equipment and you can tell he's dedicated to making the gym the best it can be. I really like this gym! There's a lot of friendly people and it feels like a community. There are all kinds of classes happening frequently; I personally have really enjoyed "daily ultimate training". The classes are definitely real work outs. You'll feel very tired after one. According to their website, some of them burn roughly 600 Calories. I like Daily Ultimate Training. One thing about this gym is that there are different instructors with very different styles. You might have to try out a few to see who best fits your goals. At first I thought it was prohibitively expensive, but you do get a LOT for the cost, which makes it more than reasonable. At the other gym I went to, it was ~$75 for basic gym access, no additions. This is $150/month for full gym access and access to all the classes. As someone who goes to a lot of the classes, this feels like a bargain. They do say it's "quit anytime", which is not _entirely_ true. Since you pay last month up front, worst case is you have to give ~2 months notice. They do have a very good freeze policy. I saw some other people commenting saying they were frustrated with management. I don't fully understand it, so maybe it's changed. I've found the manager to be extremely helpful whenever I needed anything or had any questions. My only real complaints are due to the fact that it's a bit smaller of a gym. The locker room has two showers, a few lockers, and only one bathroom. This can cause some problems when it's more crowded. On the same note, sometimes it can feel like a bit of a pain to use the bench press or squat rack because you feel like you're getting in other people's ways. Especially true during class times where sometimes this equipment will not be available as readily. All in all, great gym, good price. really enjoy it. read more

The gym is clean, spacious, well-ventilated and has good natural light. The trainers are great. I have private 1/2 hour boxing sessions with Daniel Pina, who is excellent. The gym is friendly and welcoming to all fitness levels. The classes are hard work, but trainers respect your limits and will adapt routines to your level on request. I started working in downtown Boston and wanted a gym that was close to work where I can take MMA classes. I found UFC gym by accident and wanted to give it a try, I put my information on the website and within minutes Jason (the previous owner) left me a voicemail to come check it out! I Went to go check it out that same day and fell in love the minute I walked in! I was so eager to sign up and I sure did. Jason gave me a good offer and it's the best investment I made towards my health and fitness goals. All the classes challenge you until the end and they're various types of classes so you will definitely never get bored! Best gym deal I've found in the area for sure. Jason ended up getting a promotion and now there is a new manager Shani and she is just as amazing! Great great great customer service and she is super friendly! I have been a UFC member for a few years now, and this is my favorite UFC gym I've been to based on the staff alone! The space and locker rooms are smaller than other UFC gyms, but they are always clean and well kept. The instructors are AWESOME! Justin's classes are the best, I'm sweating 5 minutes in! The classes and instructors here are great. I like that the class sizes for the boxing / kickboxing / fight fit classes are a lot smaller than other gyms. Everyone gets one on one attention from the instructor, which makes it really easy to learn and improve. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming, know everyone's name, and make the classes really fun. (Especially Manny, the new GM!) They also offer personalized nutrition plans! read more

I've been here now for about a month and gone to 10+ classes. I can say that the classes are a great workout and I feel like I'm learning the moves of both MMA and Boxing. Some of the instructors are great at incorporating music and motivating you to push harder, while others seem distracted and actually just let the background music play... a big bummer! This review would be 3 or 4 starts (depending on the instructor) if it were not for the locker rooms. They are SMALL! Only two showers (one a handicap stall) and a small bench. If there are more than 3 people in the room it feels very crowded. Also, there is no ventilation which makes the place feel as you would expect. So if you want to come and workout and then leave and shower at home, go for it! If you need to shower or basically use the locker room as a, well, locker room (instead of a large restroom) then look elsewhere. Whoever designed the locker room should be put in the cage and worked over! read more

Most classes are awesome, but as others have said, depending on the instructor. I too have witnessed this particular instructor roll his eyes, single you out and most of the class he is sitting on his rear with his arms crossed. Not engaging at all and definitely not encouraging. I have taken classes with Chris, Kin and LJ and those classes are fun and a great workout! I would love to give UFC a higher review except for the locker room facilities and admin stuff. The ladies locker room is tiny, most of the locks on the lockers are already broken and there are only two showers. Luckily for me, I take the early morning classes and sometimes I am the only chick in the place so waiting for a shower isn't a problem, on other days I am waiting for a shower and we're bumping into each other. Today I went, took a shower and washed my hair (mind you it's below freezing in Boston) and low and behold, the hair dryer that used to be available in the locker room is gone. Just gone. So then I had to walk to work with frozen hair. There is also no towel service which is a pain. I belong to other gyms in the city and with what UFC is charging, comparable gyms offer towel service and this is an amenity that should be included just to stay competitive. I joined during construction and the locker rooms weren't completed yet, so I had no idea what to expect. Zero locker room amenities. As far as admin issues, the schedule is sometimes not available ahead of time, classes are listed incorrectly, and you can only view the current week (note: I do not have a iPhone/Android and can't get the UFC gym app and have to rely on the interwebs.) Example: I checked the schedule last night, it said there was a DUT class this morning, got to the gym and nope, no DUT class. This gym has the potential to be so much better than it is right now! read more
