What a terrible company to do business with. I recently had the displeasure of hiring UF Mover Guys to handle moving an antique upright piano to my home. I liked their insurance plan, they seemed to have good reviews, and overall, they were quiet affordable. Now, though, I know the truth - If you value your belongings and your sanity, I implore you to steer clear of this so-called moving company. Despite being fully aware of the fact that there were three steps leading to my house, the company decided it was acceptable to send only two movers to tackle the difficult task of moving an antique piano. This alone should have been a red flag, but I proceeded anyway. Big mistake The company *also* neglected to send a proper moving ramp, an essential tool for any piano move, especially one involving steps. Instead, they left their two movers to tackle the situation with muscle alone. It's important to note that the movers themselves were polite and did their best within the constraints they were given - they were lovely people - this is why I'd give the company any stars at all. But here's where the story takes a dangerous turn - the movers, lacking a proper ramp, had me construct a makeshift ramp out of my own plywood. I did it, because we were already far down the path of the move at that point, but it was a pretty bad scene. The plywood started breaking under the weight of the piano, one mover slipped, and then, after heroic efforts, as it was at the top of the homemade ramp... well, have you ever seen a 100+ year old piano tip over and start to fall off a porch? I have. 0/0 do not recommend. The movers righted the piano through just unbelievable strength, but it was perilously close to toppling over and meeting its demise. Really scary, and really dangerous. Predictably, a pedal on the piano snapped off during this, so after the move was over I immediately reached out to UF Mover Guys seeking reimbursement for the cost of repairing the damage their neglect had created. I didn't even ask for the money to replace the broken plywood! Just the piano pedal. What I received in response was an astonishing display of mealy-mouthed irresponsibility. They had the gall to blame the "difficult and makeshift access that was necessary for moving the item" - conveniently forgetting that they were the ones who had failed to provide the proper equipment in the first place. This made me very frustrated. It's the principle of the thing, you know? But wait! Remember their much-touted insurance policy that claimed "every move is insured for 1000 dollars"? Allow me to disabuse you of this illusion - it's a flat-out lie. If you're considering entrusting UF Mover Guys with your valuable possessions, don't expect them to honor their supposed insurance policy. They have a remarkable talent for shirking responsibility and leaving customers high and dry when they need support the most. In conclusion, if you have boxes that are packed, and you don't care too much if they get broken - these guys would work fine. For anything you actually care about, my encounter with UF Mover Guys was a cautionary tale of incompetence, negligence, and a complete lack of integrity. After my move I found that a large floor lamp with 35 pound marble base had been shoved behind my sectional sofa to prop it up because the movers had apparently dropped it and cracked the base. I specifically hired help because I just had new flooring installed and knew I wasn't strong enough to pick things up without scratching the new floors. When the movers arrived, I let them know the flooring was brand new and to please be careful. One of the movers tipped a filing cabinet on its tip and spun it, digging a hole into the new floor. TWICE. When I reached out to the company, they said the damage would not be covered because I didn't pay extra to have the furniture wrapped. Seriously? I didn't need my furniture wrapped, I needed it picked up by someone stronger than myself. I'm very disappointed at how they decided it didn't matter that they put holes in my brand new flooring. We packed up everything and they came ON TIME (actually, at their quoted earlier time) which was amazing and then proceeded to load up our 2B/2B IN AN HOUR! They were professional, efficient, quick, and super nice!!! They unloaded all of our furniture and boxes into our 3rd floor apartment just as quickly! Josh and Tim were excellent. They initially assessed the amount of furniture being moved and exchanged the assigned truck to a bigger one, so that our furniture would not get damaged. They completed the entire move in almost three hours and this was wrapping everything to protect it from any damage. Two stars for being super communicative and easy to schedule with. I moved from out of state and ended up in an apartment that was just roach infested, so I had to cancel my first appointment to unload my Uhaul. A week later, I was trying to schedule around the rain so I did change my day and time a handful of times- but who wants to move in the rain? Regardless, the day arrives and they're nowhere to be seen at our confirmed 10am time. Called after about 20 minutes, and the answering service says they'll call me back. An hour later, they say they had a scheduling mishap in the office and they'll let me know a revised time ASAP. Another hour later, nothing yet. Two and a half hours later total (12:30pm) they say they can have a crew to me at "5ish". I called another service and they arrived to help me within the hour. I get that changing times to work around the rain may be frustrating for a company that's willing to work in all weather conditions, but just not showing up is so disappointing and sadly rather unprofessional. I expected great things from this company with all the flexibility and great communication, but 95% of doing a job is showing up to do it. read more

These guys were amazing and worth every penny! We booked them to help load our trucks (furniture in one to be given to a family member and boxes in the other for our out of state move) and carry our things down the stairs from a second floor apartment. They handled dividing up our stuff without a hitch and wrapped our furniture and fragile items quickly and efficiently. The only reason this job got done in two hours is because of how smart and how hard those guys worked. I'm currently sitting in my new apartment going into hour 3 with our movers in VA. Before the move, the guy who did the estimate beforehand was thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. The day of the move, the guys who showed up to move were the same, great guys who did great work. The only downside was that our 3/2 house had too much stuff for their truck, so we ended up calling a friend to load his jeep with the last few bins. They may have bigger truck options, and in the future, I would just ask them to bring a bigger truck than they estimate needing. Overall, a great local moving service. read more

From the initial phone call with Brad, to the last items being moved into the new place by AJ and Antonio, the service provided by this company was as close to perfect as it gets! Within minutes of calling to ask about hiring movers to help us, we had an appointment and quote ready to go. Our situation was that we needed hourly help and strong helpers. UF Mover Guys provided that happily. $175 per hour for a truck and 2 men, with a minimum of 2 hours. More than fair! We received email follow-up, as well as a follow-up phone call the day before the move. On top of that, the 2 men assigned to our job called ahead to let us know they were running early and offered to come early. We appreciated knowing exactly when they were coming and the chance to move the time up. This is excellent customer service! This is the third time I have used UF moved guys and I've got to say, their actual mover guys are very nice! Pros-They were good with kids great with the dogs and overall very nice people. We had two trucks take our stuff all three times (all in 2020 during covid) They were able to wrap and protect my huge cherry dining table and buffet set and move them three times without major damage. They just packed and unloaded stuff really well with a good attitude. The guys were working the whole time and worked well together. Real Competent Guys!! Didn't loose or misplace anything which is a huge deal. Good overall movers. Cons- I get it. It's hard to wear a mask all day while you're doing physical labor, but you have to. Some didn't wear one at all, most wore them on and off, or started to but then didn't as time went on. This is a big deal and why I can't give them the full 5 stars. All in all they were a good moving company. Solid choice. The guys were just so friendly. Only con is they need to wear the masks the whole time. 4.5/5 read more

This was the worst move of our lives. If I could have given -stars I would have. We had one crew pack us up and move some things to an apartment we lived in while building our house and put other things in their owned/run storage. We made sure all the items were clearly documented and marked as to what went where. As they were packing up my grandfather clock I asked them if they were well versed in taking them apart and they assured me they were - when the second crew delivered it to the final destination it was wound too tight, broken and the company would not fix it despite any pleas to fix it. It was my late husband's and very valuable to me. When the first crew brought the items to the apartment after a long lunch, they had to search through the truck for the items to unload, unload and reload items that were to go to storage, thus adding costs to the total bill and overcharging us. When the 2nd crew brought the things from storage to our new home, they could not find the hardware to put beds, tables, etc together as they were packed in random boxes and they had to hunt for them, some they never found, a couple beds they couldn't put together (even though it was in their contract to do so) they spent well over a couple additional hours because of this, my tables were not put together correctly and were unsafe. My clock is now broken, they left huge boxes in closets making it near impossible to pull them out and unpack them ourselves. China was broken and missing, heirlooms were missing, pictures broken, furniture damage, hoses and upright sprinklers, even some cleaning supplies vanished never to be found again. I tried calling, emailing texting Justin and Brad, they would not return calls. I went to the office in person, they had a girl come to the door and say they were closed. I deducted $200 from the total amount due because of the overage of time totally no fault of mine and the fact they didn't put half the things together (we had to pay someone else to come in and do that). The one and only time Brad talked to me he used that as an excuse not to fix my clock so I sent him a check which he sent back. There was no way that $200 covered fixing the clock, the extra hours and me having to pay other people to do what they did not finish, not to mention all the things damaged and missing. Which I sent pictures of. One of those heirlooms was a carnival glass candle stick that went with a set my grandmother had given me - priceless to me. These people didn't even have the decency to return calls, say they were sorry, nothing. I just wanted my clock fixed.. it was the least they could do. This was last September 2021... UF Mover Guys was the only company I called and the only agency I will use in the future. They are very responsive, personable and hard-working.I always spoke to a person when I made the phone call. They were able to accommodate to our needs. Brandon and Austin moved our furniture from the Orlando area to Gainesville (couple of locations). They were on time, HARD WORKING, worked as efficiently as possible and did not try to run the clock. Brandon and Austin were very friendly respectful and efficient. I recently moved a dryer and washing machine from my house to a storage unit in town. The job took 40 minutes to complete and the movers were terrific. However, the price was astronomical. Needed to move furniture and some boxes from one apartment to a townhouse. UF mover guys gave me the best price quote. On top of that they give you an extra 10% discount if you pay in cash. Matt and Tim showed up to the house and did an excellent job. They finished within the time limits of the quoted time and were very careful. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they ended up showing up 2 hours late due to a previous move earlier taking longer than quoted. Brad is truly a lifesaver. My son was moving his 100 gallon saltwater aquarium, and the person who had come to help couldn't lift the heavy tank. The fish have a very narrow window to be out of the tank, so we had an emergency. At six oclock on a Friday night I called UF Mover Guys in a panic Brad sent Steven over to our house immediately. He was charming and helpful, and the aquarium was quickly loaded and safely installed in the new place. If they hadn't been able to help us we would have lost all our fish. Their fee was extremely reasonable, and Brad even contacted me later in the evening to thank me for calling them. They are my all time favorite company! read more

Pro: Was able to get me scheduled in quickly. CONS: WAY over priced greater than 100% over other movers I've used. Movers used my equipment to move furniture. I guess the higher rate wasn't going to get them to move very fast either, as they were in no hurry to load and unload the truck. Don't use this company!! It scratched my furniture and makes no comment or any contact after I informed them and sent pictures. The 2 guys brought my large china hutch into the room delivering it and sat the top piece onto the bottom one. Then the lead guy said now slide it back. Well, you never slide on wood because if there is anything between it sctraches the surface up (even grains of sand). There was something between on both ends of the piece and it is now permanently marred with scratches at both front corners. I had before moving pictures of it and sent them to show the before and after shots, but not even a comment. After the incident I am told the company has a deductible and all kinds of let them off the hook verbiage. Well it will cost more than their $100 deductible to have the top of the lower cabinet refinished!!! This is after I used them due to a good referral because my first mover had damaged a dresser in moving. I guess you are better off moving things yourself with family help, don't think we would have damaged this much this badly doing it ourselves. Brad at UF movers guys was highly responsive to my request especially since I feel like I contacted them at last minute to schedule the moving service. The two movers that were sent over to help unload and move the items into my place were extremely kind and helpful and I would have no problem contacting this company again to help me move. This company deserves the 5 star reviews they have been getting on here. Everything from the reservation, to the actual move was done with ease. They moved my one bedroom apartment. I packed everything myself by choice. Two crew members showed up with a truck right on the clock. The whole thing was done in two hours for a very reasonable per hour flat fee. Both crew members were very professional and nice. My move was originally scheduled for today (the day Irma arrives in Florida). However, they called me a few days ago and we had to push it back one day due to Hurricane Irma. I am very grateful that they didn't cancel on me and helped me get this move done well before Irma's arrival. The crew told me that the company was nice enough to arrange their warehouse as a shelter for their employees. Made me even happier to do business with them.
