Stopped by UETA right next to the Mexico border to check out their liquor selection. The store is on the smaller side, but it's organized and easy to browse. I did notice a new Johnnie Walker flavor I hadn't seen before, which was a nice surprise. Selection overall isn't huge, but they carry some solid staples and a few interesting finds. When I travel back and forth across the border I always stop here. A previous reviewer slammed the "low quality goods" but I've always found they have the same top quality products as the big stores but for far less money. The huge price difference is thanks to the crazy taxes and fees imposed by our government on alcohol and tobacco products. The service is always friendly and efficient. You definitely need to know the laws from both countries before making a purchase here. You just can't load up the back of your van with cheap alcohol and drive away. There are limits going into Mexico as well as the U. S. Oh yeah, you will be escorted to the border by their employee but that's required by law for them to make sure you cross into Mexico after your purchase. You can go through the declare line at the border and pay the tax on excess, but that can be 114% of the purchase price. Be prepared and don't be upset when the employees do their jobs. I use UETA frequently and am surprised at the negative reviews. I travel back and forth from the US to San Felipe twice a month and I have never had a problem with any purchase. Their sales are fantastic on alcohol. And understanding the laws about what you can take across the border is really up to the customers. I just make sure I don't buy anything I can't legally take over the border. I get red lighted pretty often and it is annoying, but since I understand what I can and cannot have, there has never been an issue. Buying Duty Free is just that....you are NOT paying the extra taxes that states impose on items. For alcohol and cigarettes this is huge. So UETA's services are amazing. So before you buy Duty Free, know the laws for each country and you won't have a problem OR if you want to buy EXTRA.....go through the DECLARE LINE and just pay a small fee. So simple. read more

Horrible experience here, do not recommend anybody coming here. They are a bunch of crooks that utilize their parking to force people to purchase their overpriced low quality goods. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this terrible place. read more
