I don't even know where to begin! After I signed the contract with 93energy to install solar panels…read moreand upgrade my electrical service to 200 amps, it took a staggering 8 months for the system to be fully operational. During installation, they installed a Span Panel, but tried to charge me extra to complete the 200-amp hookup--even though I had it in writing that the upgrade was part of the contract. I had to show them their own emails to avoid the extra cost. When they finally finished and the system was running, I discovered they overcharged me by $800 through the finance company. They promised a refund, but the check that arrived was $200 short. One of the main reasons I chose this company was for their unique tax incentives, but when tax time came around, they outsourced the paperwork to an outside company without giving any guidance on how to use it. I had to hire a tax consultant just to figure it out. Since the system has been running, it has never produced as much energy as promised. After I asked why, it took them two months to respond, saying "electrical noise" was to blame, but they offered no solution or fix. Then, a year after installation, a tornado damaged my roof. Before signing the contract, I specifically asked how much it would cost to take down and reinstall the panels for a roof replacement, and they quoted around $2,000. Now that I actually need the work done, they've nearly doubled that estimate, citing increased labor costs. Fortunately, insurance will cover most of it, but it took them weeks to respond, and the earliest they can start is over a month away. To be clear, everyone I've spoken to at the company has been very nice, but the business as a whole is disorganized and unprofessional. They've made multiple mistakes throughout the entire process--mistakes that would have cost me a lot of money if I hadn't been keeping a close eye on everything. In summary, everything I was promised by 93energy has fallen short. I'm sure they do well for some customers in perfect conditions, but my experience has been the opposite. It seems like their business model is to sell you the dream, but once the contract is signed, you're on your own.

I reached out for a quote and heard back pretty quickly from Christy Carlson. Her response requested I send her some info and my current bill to her email. I did. I did. Then radio silence. Followed up with an email 2 days later. Again nothing. Not sure if this is a scam company - but if it's a real business, they need a serious kick in the pants.

Deceptive business practices!! A couple of years into solar…read morepanel ownership. Here's some things they don't tell you when they sell you a system for $25,000. Your warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Whenever there is an issue with your system, you will get a notification that tells you there's an issue, but doesn't tell you what the issue is, that requires a technicians visits which is $180 I recently had a panel that is under performing, which, after a technicians visit deemed to be a manufacturers defect. So my kick ass warranty should cover this right? Wrong! The manufacturer will replace the panel, but I'll have to pay for shipping, which is approximately as much as a brand new panel would cost. Also, I have to pay for a technician to install the replacement panel. So when the sales person sells you peace of mind that the warranty will cover you - don't believe a word of it. I have long recommended solar panels to my friends. I have also long recommended not going near this chop shop enterprise. They are Temu version of what a solar company should be. Project management is a joke. See my earlier review for that debacle. Product support is an even bigger joke. I wish I could give zero stars.

My experience with Windfree Solar Company has been awful. Consider carefully reading the contract,…read morenoting if subcontractors would do the solar panel installation, if so, will Windfree cover losses, if applicable. In addition, make sure all the permit is pulled with your municipal, along with the correct schematics for the solar panels, both were an issue here. All the woes, leaves me with the savings from the schematics of 77% savings, panned out to 18%. Monitoring for the solar panels based on the information I was given was a country outside the U.S., with no option to opt out of 3rd party advertisement. No thank you! Value=NONE!

Jim, the sales guy, was great .. explained everything and gave a fair price ... Saturn took care of the Village permitting. The Installation Team was FANTASTIC !!! They knew what they were doing and worked hard and were really, really nice guys. They cleaned up after themselves and were just beyond great. Beth, Laurie and Steve in the office were great as well ! They kept us informed as we went thru the process and always promptly answered any questions that we had. Within a week of the installation, the weather 'cooperated' and we were able to take the Generac out for a test drive ... The power went out due to storms and Generac kicked on within seconds and the shut off was seamless. We had storms the next night, but didn't feel anxious at all about the power going out. We have a wonderful sense of security and worth every dime. It truly was a great experience with everyone at Saturn. Thank you Everyone !!!

Mixed feelings on this company. We had them come out and do a PM on our generator last year and…read morethey came out on time, performed the maintenance satisfactorily and didn't try to sell additional, unnecessary parts/services. Cool! Recently, we had a breaker go bad on our panel which was not allowing power to get to one of our bedrooms. Scheduling the service was quick and easy, tech arrived on time. I explained what was going on, what we did to troubleshoot and what I thought the problem might be (bad breaker). Tech proceeded to mess around with wires, asking about attic access (our panel is in our basement), and basically tinkering around for 3 hours before changing out the breaker to the bedroom, which fixed it. Why didn't he just do that first? Oh that's right, because they charge $100/hr for labor so the $20 breaker cost us a total of $331. Kicker is: he complained about how the panel was labeled yet, their company was the one who installed it originally and was the only reason we called them. (Note: panel is actually labeled really well but he couldn't grasp why the affected bedroom which overlooks our backyard wasn't labeled "front bedroom") Bottom line: they did the work and fixed the problem, but totally milked charging us for labor. I felt he took advantage of the fact that I was busy watching my toddler to charge for extra "labor".

I was planning to go with one of the 5 companies and thought I'll get one more quote from RX Sun since my friend referred them and I'm so glad I did. Noah made me an offer I couldn't refuse with a 30 yr parts and labor warranty and REC panels. He also presented me with an amazing 0% financing deal that you'll have to ask him about yourself. Noah was so knowledgeable and did not BS me like some of the other 5 companies I spoke with. He was able to explain the IL State credits better than the others. The IL credits can be quite confusing and the estimated credits the others gave me were all different so it was hard to know who to trust. The installation was scheduled and installed with no surprises. My 17 REC panels took 2 days to complete in Dec 2022 and they did a professional job. The company kept me updated on the permit process and the ComEd inspection along the way. They helped me file the IL State credits paperwork after the installation was completed and again, no surprises. My panels have been running for 3 months during the Winter, at the time of this review, and even with the Winter sun and shorter days the performance has exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to go through a full Summer to accumulate some ComEd "credits" so I can stop paying ComEd for my energy usage going forward. I am a Construction Manager by profession so it was refreshing how professional this company was to deal with. I rate this company a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend RX Sun and Noah Rothschild, in particular.

So I probably asked a-lot more questions than the normal customer. Ultimately after reviewing multiple quotes and doing a-lot of research on my own of the proposed technology I chose RX Sun. I also chose RX Sun because they have their own in-house company to do the installations. I did not want to work with anyone who subcontracted the actual work. All the permitting and inspections were handled by RX Suns installer crew and I did not need to do anything. The installation went smoothly and they were very accommodating of my schedule for installation as my wife works nights and I could not have them on the roof during the day when she was trying to sleep. The install was very clean with no visible wire or conduit on the roof. This was a big concern because most of the systems in my neighborhood look terrible with a mess of conduit spaghetti running all over their roofs. Not my system, it looks great. Post installation there were a few configuration issues with some sensors but RX Sun and their installer crews were able to resolve them and follow up to make sure no other issues remained.
