The path is really nice and starts along the bus line behind the Bed Bath and Beyond center toward De Soto, Mason and Winnetka. The only downside is the long traffic lights which slow your pace and heart rate/breathing. I took the metro to downtown recently and it worked very well. The bus was clean and nice and got me to the NoHo subway station fairly quickly so I could take a train from there. Parking here is plentiful and what's best is there's a small sheriff's outpost trailer so they're around to keep an eye on your car. As far as bus stops go, Canoga Park is pretty nice with a lot of places to sit and it's really modern and clean. Just be very, very careful obeying traffic lights and crossing because the buses come fast.

Looks like this station needs an updated review!…read more The Westwood/Rancho Park Station is an outside train stop and platform where the E Line runs through. It's a small transfer station to catch the Big Blue Bus R12 towards Westwood and the UCLA campus. The station looks like any surface station, you can use your TAP card and pay your fare at the scanning machine. Then you walk onto the platform and wait for your train. The E Train runs often, with a train coming through about every 10-15 minutes during daytime hours. The estimate to get to and from this station after a transfer from L.A. Union Station is about 1 hour. To get to the Big Blue Bus bus stop, just walk past the tracks, cross the street at the light, and you can catch the bus there. A conveinent station for desinations to Westwood.

We hopped aboard at 5PM and arrived through HEAVY CRAZY traffic a bit after 7PM as scheduled!? One adult rides for $3 ... WoW. However it stopped all over the place on the way in in spite of it being a Commuter Express. Compared to driving your own car it is slow - but it is a convenient alternative if you're not driving. On this occasion we thought to try it as Friday traffic was bad and I was meeting someone who was already in downtown / thus we wanted to avoid having two cars to drive back. I found the web site for LADOT to be rather incredible. You get live positions and updated ETA on all their busses. The equipment / the bus itself was pretty nice - free of smells or wear and tear which you might see on other busses. The home page cites how they are experimenting with free wifi on some of their busses - however ours' did not have it. The driver was a young man who was observed as exceptionally courteous to us and other patrons. I was really impresed by observing him! However - I have to drop two stars because it was an EXHAUSTING experience riding on the bus. I don't know if that is fair - but it is how I feel about it. If not for the great positives - the equipment + superb driver + tech of the home page I'd have given this one star - I don't like long slow public transportation. I shudder to think how long a regular bus would take to transit the 40-50 miles into downtown LA from my area? I just decided to add a star to 4 - because the service on balance and as a whole was really exceptional. Superior by far over the other busses I've taken in other countries - cities and most certainly compared to the ONE other time I had taken a bus in the Los Angeles area 7or 8 years ago. They've really done a rather fine job with this route and this type of service.

The longest bus line in the Metro system is also the one I have the most recent experience with…read more Parking at or near the L.A. Memorial Coliseum for college-football games is super annoying. It's almost impossible to park in the neighborhood, so if you go the cheapskate route, you will be parked pretty far away and risking your car's windows to would-be thieves. If you park in one of the (few) parking lots or structures, you'll be paying through the nose; but the best part is that when you get back to your car, even if the game ended a half-hour ago, you'll be sitting there waiting for all the cars to get out. My dad and I have done this many times, and we've sat in our car for more than an hour, so we started taking Metro to the biennial Notre Dame-USC game at the Coliseum. We don't take Metro the entire way. Until now, we've driven to Metro's Norwalk Station and parked for free. We used to ride the Green Line (now called the C Line) train to the Silver Line (now called the J Line) bus. But a few years back, I realized that we could take Metro Bus 460 from Norwalk Station, and it would take us to exactly the same stop (37th Street/USC) as the Silver Line did. I've now done this trip both ways four times, and it's pretty efficient. The line itself is very long. It goes from Downtown L.A. all the way to Disneyland. I've only ridden it between Norwalk and 37th Street/USC Stations, so I don't know how often the bus stops on surface streets, but on the freeway, it barely stops. Once you get on the 105 going westbound, it doesn't stop until it has already transitioned to the 110 northbound. All told, there are only four other stops between boarding and disembarking. If you are using the 460 to get to a game, be sure to give yourself extra time. The Harbor Transitway portion of the 110 gets very crowded north of the 105, so even though the bus doesn't make lots of stops, it might physically be stopped in traffic on the freeway. I may never ride this bus again, because the recent realignment of Metro's rail system means that we may be able to take a single train all the way from Atlantic Station (which still has free parking) to the vicinity of the Coliseum. But I definitely would ride this bus again. It's pretty efficient and cheap for where it gets you. And can you imagine going from Disneyland to Downtown L.A. or vice versa?

This is the third time I've decided to not use the Burbank Bus in the past 3yrs. Below is a…read moredetailed list of what's been done to me in the past year: Driver L: I asked for the ramp & I was refused. Instead, she forced me to stretch my legs and strain myself to get on the bus. Then she said see I knew you could do it. I have severe mobility issues, a history of falling, and an access disable bus card. It doesn't matter to them. On several occasions this driver has watched me get up, once I do, the driver hits the brakes and I get slammed into the pole/handhold. Finally, 99% of the time this driver pulls up too far from the curb, loading & unloading. All drivers cater to the people taking the train in to Burbank then bussing it to their job. The drivers wait for said working class until 5 minutes passed takeoff time. But they won't wait for me. On several occasions they have left me even though I wave my hand for them to wait. Additionally, all but 1 driver pretend not to see me then at the last minute pull over, same for dropping me off, going past my stop. All of them ask me where I'm going but no one else. They also don't wait for me to sit down. And when I board the working class or non-disabled sit in the priority handicap seats; not offering me a seat & the driver says nothing either. Also, I've been asked to get off the back which is street level not curb level so their working class can load in the front. There are 2 passengers that continually harass me once I load by rubbing & touching themselves. Driver L told me last week that their passengers can do whatever they want to me as long as they say nothing; but one passenger did called me a terrorist. Driver J: has yelled at me, passed me by, stop 2 feet from the curb loading & unloading but not to anyone else. He refuses to let me sit after I tap my card. Driver C & L stop the bus at my stop then as soon as I stand, grab my bags, & start to walk up the aisle they put the bus in motion almost causing me to fall. I have called & called the switchboard but nothing happens but fallout. Why am I treated this way? I don't work, I'm retired I am homeless I am a senior All of the above is discrimation [reported] as they choose who they're nice, too!!
