I went in the Carbon Valley Urgent Care tonight (Nov 12th 2024) at around 5pm, with flu/sinus infection symptoms. I felt awful. The staff were unbelievably kind and helpful from the check in staff, to the nurse (Erika?), who took vitals, tests and a breathing treatment, and the wonderful, kind doctor who diagnosed me quickly, did the needed tests and called in the antibiotics so quickly that even though it was evening , I was able to get started on them tonight. I appreciate this facility's staff so much and just wanted to give them a shout out for going above and beyond and being so outstanding. read more

The Dr was wonderful, but I am so very upset about my appointment for a different reason. I went in with a hurt wrist, they asked if I would like a splint, and being a consumer I asked what the price would be. The assistant went to check and came back and told me 36.95. I said sure, I'll take it. Well, the splint company sent me a bill for $250.00. When I called UC Health billing they told me that was not their problem, the splint company said it wasn't their problem as the nurse had told me an untrue amount (according to them). I spent months calling the UC Health Urgent Care, the splint company and UC billing. Nothing could be done so I had to pay the 250.00. That is just wrong! I did my due diligence and asked for a price up front. I will not recommend any UC Health facility because of this. No wonder insurance is so high! People are getting duped! read more

I wish I can give no stars. First it was hell getting an appointment. After that finally happened 6 weeks later I went to my " new patient visit" to get established with a doctor.... then 9 months later I got sick, and really needed to see a doctor. Called them but, can't get in for three or four weeks! Also, the doctor who I saw the first time left the practice and I have to do another 'new patient visit". When I asked why, the women on the phone, (in a already irritated voice) said, "it's the policy!" The job of a place like this is to provide care. It's like I have to fight them to let me come to their facility to receive care. Waste of time, money, and effort to become a patient of theirs. I'm very disappointed. read more

I love this place, as much as anyone ever loves a Doctors Office. I live in Longmont, and CHOOSE to drive out to this location when I have the option (Urgent Care--here in Longmont at Longmont Clinic, but regular appointments? Carbon Valley, all the way). The nursing staff is friendly, helpful and amazing. They tend to remember the weird little quirks about you and ask you about your life with details when you see them (even infrequently!). They are prompt about follow up phone calls, and go out of their way to help you out. I can't say too much about the Doctors on staff, because I've only seen two of them. Dr. Theiss is very friendly, personable, and easy going... Case in point, the first time I met her (I get rather...anxious at Doctors offices) I said something really weird, like "I like my Doctors to have vaginas" and she waved her hand in the air, said "Oh! I have one of those!" and just laughed. Really, I just like women doctors with regards to obgyn-stuff (male obgyns...just feels like taking your car to an auto mechanic that doesn't own a car!). But that's just the type of person she is. Anyway...if you are looking for a friendly, thorough, helpful doctor? Check them out. I don't know about insurance beyond "They take ours"--BCBS.--but I'm sure the office staff can answer that question for you. Bonus: OPEN on weekends! They even do walk-ins. :) read more

I see Dr. Nicolee Theiss here, as does my husband, mom, and 3 sisters. She is AWESOME. She genuinely cares about her patients, and actually remembers stuff about me/ us months later WITHOUT reviews our charts first (i.e., when I went with my sister (different last name) to her appt., Dr Theiss remembered my name and medical history and asked me about it). She doesn't have that "God-Doctor" attitude- she listens and works around your preferences, not insisting on her all the time. The front staff is "meh", but I love Dr. Theiss so much that I don't really care. My mom has had blood drawn multiple times and the nurses do a great job! *Only down side- sometimes their appt setting system doesn't work properly. Twice someone in my family has set an appt for a "x" time of day, the automatic confirmation system "(that calls a day or two in advance) confirms "x" time of day, but when you go in your appt has been missed because they had you scheduled for "w" time of day. Very frustrating- call the office to confirm what time they have your appt set for. read more

It's true, a doctor's office doesn't get much better than this place. My husband and I have been patients here for the last 4 years. He sees Dr. Bob Nouhan, and I see Dr. Nicky Theiss, who are both incredibly personable and actually FUN to visit. We are always seen by the doctor within a very close time to our actual appointment times (if not brought in even sooner -- right when we arrived). The front office staff are intelligent, accommodating, professional and thoroughly helpful. They've been able to squeeze us into see the doc even if we showed up (early) without an appointment. The weekend urgent care is just as good and a real benefit if we come down with something on the weekend. The Nurse Aides have all been wonderful, and the technicians who draw blood are virtual angels -- ensuring it's a pain free and stress free experience. For everything they DO offer, what we appreciate most is the LACK of any industrial medical complex condescension or attitude. We are still humans when we are there, and treated with compassion and great care. Granted, we are both healthy adult specimens who (generally) take care of ourselves and don't have any kids or severe illnesses to add to the mix. So, if you're looking for a warm medical environment with A+++ doctors and staff who treat you as if they are actually there to SERVE you rather than ALLOWING you to be graced with their Godlike medical expertise, then go to Carbon Valley Medical Center. I bet you will not be disappointed. It's an attitude-free zone. PS -- great new addition of Dr. Heidi Pomfret, OB/GYN! She comes over from Longmont Clinic 1 or 2 days a week to see women at CVMC. She was fantastic. PPS -- if you care about your doctor's own attention to their personal health, as we do, then these docs fit the bill. It irks me to hear advice on health issues from medical professionals who clearly are not applying any of those practices (eating right, exercising, staying active) to their own lives. They also respect our choice to use alternative & Eastern healing options together with the allopathic practice. read more

Everything other's have said regarding getting an appointment is true. This office requires you to first see a physician when you're NOT sick, in order to see you when you ARE SICK. Regardless if other family members have been going there for YEARS, it's their policy. So, go waste your $150 on a new patient visit when you're feeling 100% because they'll send you away when you desperately need a doctor. They should be ashamed of themselves for saying they're physicians. Can't wait till their new hospital opens, be sure to go get a well surgical visit before you need their services. If you have a choice, keep driving in to Longmont to LUH. UC Health is a letdown. read more

UC Health facilities are run like no other doctors office i have ever been to and I'm 57 with issues. Medicaid patient are not wanted here. I experienced some really unprofessional behavior between this office and the Longmont office. True, if you are actually sick you cannot get in. Any other doctor leaves openings for emergencies or has colleagues who step in. Yes, having to call over and over again to get a refill or anything is really tiring. Even the surrounding pharmacies roll their eyes when UC Health is mentioned. I saw a dermatologist here once who left scars from liquid Nitrogen. This to remove "precancerous" or just odd patches of skin. I have had this done many times, and it was at my request, but I have never, ever been left with permanent, raised scars...even at the hands of a GP, so a specialist should be even better. If you don't know, Liquid Nitrogen "burns" the skin, it should at most blister, peel and leave smooth, "new" skin. You can argue he was just trying to get all the bad cells, but remember this was at my request; during a general skin check, so he didn't even consider these areas worrisome. I cannot beleive I have put up with the bad treatment at UC Health and whatever clinic it was before (just as bad) for so long. When did getting healthcare get so weird? read more

Dr. Julie Fisher and her nurse are horrendous! I have severe and life threatening medical issues and have been under the care of UC Health. She came to a conclusion where because my diagnosis isn't black and white, it's all in my head! Our body's are complex and sometimes things aren't always obvious! I have seen more and more doctors have this attitude! I've read countless stories of people who were blown off by their doctors, and 1) ended up sicker, 2) ended up dying, or 3) went to countless doctors until someone cared enough to actually fix them! I have been unable to eat for 3 months due to repeated vomiting and severe stomach pain, and was told this was caused by my anxiety! No! I'm literally dropping weight like crazy scared out of my brains this is going to cause me to die! I never had anxiety till this started and no, anti-depressants are not the answer! Do your damn job and stop shoving medications at me that don't work and figure out what is going on, then standing around letting me die! Shame on you and your staff for laughing at me! As if at 23 years old I want to be $100,000 in debt, and live in and out of doctor offices and hospitals! You're not a doctor, doctors save lives, you're a damn joke! Went in for a routine physical, told the doctor that I was anemic and that I would have my other doc sent medical records. This is not what I came in for. Just wanted a yearly physical. Unbeknownst to me, the doc re ordered lab work for the anemia. They did this at the same time they took blood work for the physical. 4 months later I get hit with a $250 bill for something I didn't want or even knew was happening. I talked with the billing people and they said next time ask and there is nothing they can do because I had the blood work done. I should have never left my old doc. read more

I should have "Googled" this business before I scheduled my appointment... These are the facts as I witnessed them. Yes I am angry, but only because I was lied to twice, and a supervisor did not care that I was lied to. She would not make amends for the situation, bad call Longmont/Firestone clinic. The following is why I am leaving "hated it" rating. I called the Firestone Clinic and asked specifically what the charges would be for specific work to be done. I was told an amount, and that I could get a 10% discount if I paid at the time of service. I agreed and made my appointment. I saw the doctor, when I was done I asked again how much it would cost, I was told the same amount, discount would apply, but I could not pay as the "Doctor had not finished the paperwork and was with another patient". I asked if I should call back later and was told yes or just pay from your statement that you should receive in the mail soon and the discount would apply. Well guess what I got my statement today and the charges WERE 40% MORE than what I was told 2 times by the Firestone Clinic, and no discount of 10% was shown???? I called the Longmont Clinic billing department, talked to one person, she suggested that I talk to her supervisor and that they would call me back. The supervisor did in a timely manner and told me; basically, in her own words, "to bad for you, we are not going to honor what you were told TWICE", it was only a "quote", but she would give me the 10% discount. I asked her if she thought this was OK, and what if it was her that this had happened to, yes or no is this OK? She initially said no then backpedaled... This is totally unacceptable and wrong, I was lied to twice and they just do not give a damn. What can I do? If I do not pay "their" BS amount then I get reported to the credit bureaus. I have had the SAME horrible issues with the front office staff. They are completely unprofessional. You wait on hold for forever. They don not seem to care if you get a call back from the nurse/dr, if you call with in 30 minutes of closing forget it. I constantly feel like every call is an inconvenience. We were at Longmont Clinic for Pediatricians before for 9 years. NEVER did we have any of this kind of issue with the staff. They were always kind and helpful. The answer is sometimes No - but they always seemed to care. However Dr Heinrichs (Ped) is amazing. He is totally in touch, listens and will go over all possibilities when dealing with a health issue. I even came in once during lunch (we had a nurse elbow on a 2 year old at the nearby King Soopers. ) As per normal the front desk was rude and said they were closed. (though the door is open and they have like 8-5 hours). Really they just could have said "we can try to get you in first thing after lunch break." But no - just we are closed you'll have to go somewhere else. So I waited. I was fine waiting 30 minutes til they 'opened'. By the time I would drive to Longmont it would be that long. They are just really not kind. After I sat to just wait, she went back and Dr H came out (clearly in the middle of eating his lunch) and just fixed it for us. Our child had this happen before so we knew exactly what it was I just couldn't fix it myself. So Dr Heinrichs would get a 5+ stars Front desk staff 1 star. We finally left because it was just such a pain dealing with the office staff. read more

Seriously, no flu shot clinic this year? What a joke! They told me (the adult) to go to Safeway to get a flu shot because they are not doing any flu shot clinics. When I asked to have my kids seen to get flu shots, they told me to schedule 3 separate 15 minute appointments. 45 minutes worth of appointments to get 3 30-second flu shots. And, unless I schedule my own 15 minute appointment with a primary care physician, they won't give me one. They are terrible at accommodating families. read more

I can not wait for my new insurance to kick in so I can go back to seeing Dr. Theiss. My ins has been Kaiser for the past year and no one there can compare to her :) Also, as far as pediatricians go....DR. HEINRICKS IS THE BEST! My 5 year old son is a patient of his and has suffered from Asthma all of his life. The previous pediatrician we saw just wanted to give him steroids every time he had an attack (which was about every 2 -3 weeks at that point) out of fear of labeling him an asthmatic. With Dr. Heinricks help, we have gotten my son on controller medications and have been working with National Jewish Hospital. My son is now down to an attack every 6 months read more

Love carbon valley medical!! My whole family goes there. Dr. Thiess has been my Dr. for years and she is really caring, friendly and has helped my husband and me a lot. I hope she is there for many more years. Also her nurse Karen is great she is prompt at returning my calls. Its like one big family there every time I go there everybody knows me by name, even the other nurses, Dr. and the staff. I feel very welcomed there. I was so excited when they opened this location, the Longmont clinic had such of a long wait time. It was to overpopulated. This clinic is even open on weekends on walk-ins it is wonderful. Keep up the good work. I highly recommend the carbon valley medical team for your whole family. You wont be disappointed. read more

so sad, Loved this place when it opened many years it was wonderfully run & the past year or two has been the WORST experience ever!!! They will not answer their phones half the time you will go to a voicemail that says you can leave a message (if you do, don't expect to hear back for at least a whole day.. so if its important.. keep holding on) HOWEVER if it is10mins til the time the front desk ladies have to go eat their lunch or 10 mins til 5 when they are going home for the day, they will continue to put you back in the system EVEN after saying your call will be answered next in line.. THEN you will get HUNG UP ON!! And when you call back you do get an ANSWER ...but NEVER from the Clinic it is from their Answering Service saying they have left for the day. I KID YOU NOT... THEY JUST HANG UP ON YOU!! They care more about clocking out & lunch than their patients. This has happened numerous times to me the past 8 months, I have already complained to the Longmont United Hospital who they are connected with,, was told its a new phone sysytem & they are working on it.. lol funny! sure is taking a long time on that "system" from 8AM I called to have a prescription called in that was needed & important , the Dr. & nurse both knew about it. I had not heard back so at 10 mins til 5 pm I called & was put into the system again & eventually hung up on, next time I called it was the answering service (NOT to my surprise this time..it is their way of not having to do their job for the last few mins. of the day) but really HANGING UP ON PATIENTS AFTER ASKING THEM TO HOLD?? to top it all off... I got a message from them at 4:58 saying the prescription was there & could be picked up in the MORNING??!!.. the Dr. and the nurse knew this was needed for the evening had my original message from 8AM. After practically crying to the answering service lady, they told me I could come pick it up & knock on the back door..KNOWING I was just out of the hospital ON oxygen & driving on medication I shouldn't have been driving on.. SEE ANY CONCERN THEIR FOR THEIR PATIENTS?? when the rudest person I have ever met in my life, answered the door.. I said "maam, you have to understand" She interupted me and said NO I DON'T, I don't have to be here now, I waited for you. REALLY??!! TOO FUNNY. maybe they wouldnt have to wait late if they didnt hang up on people and actually did their job. maybe she was in a hurry to get to the salon or dinner??!! I am NOT the only one in town who has noticed this lack of Management in this office. I have many friends that either use to go there and have already left and have been sharing many horror stories as of late... and all are looking for new Dr.s I really liked our Drs Nouhan & pediatrican Heinrichs.. But the office staff, the way the business part is run and always being hung up on makes you feel not very important. I want my Drs. to actually have care & concern for their patients.. not hire people who just want to leave! I think the Dr.s themselves are o.k. But, they should be concerned about the business end.. it is the WORST!! So, if you don't mind being a number & having a staff that really just wants a paycheck & doesn't care about you personally than this would be the place for you! Just because its close and convenient doesn't make it good.. infact I would drive to Longmont before ever stepping foot in there again. read more

Disclaimer: I am usually a very nice kind person as life is too short to worry about the little things! But this has made me insane! I have been a patient since a young child, I am 46 years old with 3 children. All my children have been going to this clinic since they were young. I even worked at the clinic for many years everything used to be wonderful until UCH happened and some new providers came aboard. What was one simple visit for both my daughters getting a nurse shot turned into a 4 month long billing battle. They charged my one daughter an Office visit with 2 shots, well hmm there's a problem 2 daughters 2 shots now became a 1 child with double shot charges. You'd think it would be simple to fix. But they have this thing called a dispute and review process. Well that process led to a Nightmare. They ended up disputing my other children's charges... hmm Why? They disputed the wrong patients wrong dates and wrong reason. All while my account was being worked on I am getting sent to Collections. Well, having an Amazing Credit score this of course disturbed me to no end! After the 4 month battle yesterday I just said stop, paid everything asked them to clear everything up, don't dispute a thing, no more reviews to fix the account and we as a family and a long time patient of the Clinic with amazing Doctors like Dr. Heinrichs and Dr. Finnegan we are no longer going to go to this clinic. Thank you UC Health Billing for Taking away our loved Doctors, because of you and me not being able to trust that you can take care of the billing end of it your providers have now lost their patients of over 40 years. The sad thing about it, Dr. Finnegan will never know that his patients no longer go to him or why. He will not know that the UCH billing is causing issues with his billing. Which then cause his patients to leave! Their billing processes are awful, Their billing customer service is awful and at times rude. They blame one mistake on the other person you thought fixed your account and end up making more problems. They can't keep their billing notes in the correct patients file. They make a review/ dispute and end up doing it on the wrong patient and date of service. I mean how do you review a birth control charge and put it on a 16 year old boys account??? I am sure my son found it funny but I for one did not! Sadly the long time Doctors of the Clinic have no idea how bad the billing is for their patients. We have become a number a quota and money! Even though I like my PCP I went in for an appointment the other day for pain in my thumb. After she was telling me I need to be seen and get my annual px. I said I really don't go to the doctor much and I am doing good. She told me "you need to get in, when you don't come in it makes me look bad! It makes my numbers look bad." Well, I took it as a joke in the office but out of the office I was a little surprised she would say something like that. Does this mean the doctors are pressured to get numbers? If so maybe their numbers are down because of their UCH system and their billing!!!!!! Maybe next time Providers, they tell you your numbers are down remind them that their Billing dept is lacking in any kind of knowledge on how to do their job which then cause un-needed stress and problems for their patients who then leave the clinic!!! Also, when you start having trouble with billing you start to look into your actual charges and bills. 2 Children again, one boy one girl. Take to urgent care because, pediatrician is booked, on call doc not avail. no other peds avail, please go 5 feet over and see an urgent care doctor. Great doctor, both kids checked for the flu, swabs were done both had the exact same care and labs done. One child billed $208 the other child billed $398 dollars. Hmm??? Whys that? Well billing said the $398 charge was wrong and we need to send it in for REVIEW....HELL NOOO.... DON"T SEND IT IN FOR REVIEW! Rather pay my bill! Paid bill. Someone calls me and lets me know the Review and dispute over the 2 flu charges were fixed. The $208 charge was wrong and now I am getting a $398 dollar charge!!!! Lovely... Thank you for fixing my bill and charging me more! What a joke. That's me being sarcastic. THEN, get this THEN she proceeds to tell me she looked at other older charges in the UC and they were wrong too and now I owe even MORE MONEY! Me laughing uncontrollably while crying!!!! All though some of the doctors are amazing, it is not worth the pain and trouble to ever be unlucky enough to have to deal with the billing dept. UPDATE: Nothing lol, I paid all my charges so I do not have to get the weekly calls about how they have fixed the wrong child's account again!!!!! I have cancelled my PX appointment and now me and my family are no longer going to the CARBON VALLEY CLINIC or LONGMONT CLINIC AKA UCHealth! The doctors are great at Carbon Valley Medical Center in Firestone. The problem is the office staff. I've had multiple problems with them. They forgot to send a referral to a specialist that I was referred to and caused me to have to pay the specialist in cash...$250!. The staff at this specialist said they have done this before with other patients. The office staff also puts you on hold before they run off to lunch...ha ha, the joke is on me I guess. They also refused to fax a prescription to my pharmacy that was 25 miles away forcing me to hand-deliver it. It was not a regulated drug...just an antibiotic. They said they could fax it but it was "against office policy". Because of the terrible service of this office staff, these good doctors have lost 4 patients...my family isn't going back to Carbon Valley Medical Center. read more

The providers within the clinic that we have seen recently have been helpful and we will probably continue going to. We have in the past had concerns with one provider. However, I have had nothing but problems with "some" of the front desk staff. I have even considered no longer using this facility because of them. This last visit however is unacceptable. I went in early for my daughters appointment and updated our insurance and asked several times for the women to check mine which she said we would do when I came back for my appointment later that day. She had nothing else to do, the clinic was very slow at that time and she did not want to take the time to do it. When I came back later I again asked her to check in which she said, "I'm sure it's all good"! It wasn't, I've received denials for my claims and my referrals because of her laziness. Customer service is what brings people back as well as the care they are given. Too many times now I've been disappointment and honestly may consider the new facility closer to town. read more

My Daughter Lindsay Auricchio (married name BUTZ) started care with this facility in 2008 with Dr Nicolle Theiss, MD, who is no longer in this practice. She was seen by Dr. Theiss, MD, and in addition 6 additional Mds from here, Her last visit was December 19th, 2014. She was seen my Dr. Julie Fischer, MD. Over the years under their care they addicted her to multiple control substances, enough to kill an elephant. She filled the last presriptions written by Julie Fischer on December 19th,m 2014 at a Pharmacy in Aurora, Colorado as she was staying with us, her parents after finally escaping from an abusive marriage. The pharmist filled the dangerous prescriptions without question. We found our 30 y/o dead on out living room floor at 8am December 20th, 2014 . The Aurora County Coronors Found her cause of death to be the result of " MULTI DRUG TOXICITY. ALL THE DRUGS IN HER BODY WERE THE ONES PRESCRIBED TO HER. Result: The doctors that were supposed to take care of her ended her life. We reported all the physicians to DORA ....DEPARTMENT OF REGULATORY AGENCY. And this month September 2016 we received notice that none of these Dr's will receive any discipline for what they did. Stay away from this practice and away from the practice Dr. Nicolee now works for. They abused their professional authority to have prescriptive privileges and killed my child. Her five year old daughter will grow up without her mother. I will continue my search to find some way to make these "HEALH PROFESSIONALS" ACCOUNTABLE. OUR LIVES ARE SHATTERED. Ok - I will admit that I have had the same phone issues as Sheri, and it is incredibly frustrating to wait on hold for 15 minutes only to be hung up on. However, I am willing to deal with this situation (which doesn't happen every time I call) to be able to see Dr. Heinrichs (pediatrician). I could write a novel about why I would move mountains to still have my children see him - but for brevity's sake, I will say that he is a rare individual that takes a personal responsibility for caring for other people. I've run into so many doctors who don't seem to be invested in truly providing care for their patients. Dr. Heinrichs is thoughtful and well-informed. He cares (a lot) about the parents' perspective and beliefs (i.e. I have chosen a modified vaccine schedule and he respects my decision). If he doesn't have an answer, he finds it quickly and calls me at home. He has been instrumental in getting my children healthy when they've had fairly major medical scares - even if we are in Children's Hospital in Denver - he is on the phone checking in and making sure things are going smoothly. I have the utmost respect for his advice and recommendations. I also enjoy the fact that the office is small (in comparison to the Longmont Clinic - our other pediatric option) and clean. The Longmont Clinic is crowded with sick people and I hated taking my kids there for well visits. We make the 25 minute drive to Firestone to see Dr. Heinrichs. read more
