They were open to other ideas, and very flexible and accommodating. The venue is huge, so it can accommodate a large wedding if needed. Our wedding was about 150 people, and there was more than enough room. It's surrounded by beautiful walnut orchards and you can see the valley and mountains from different parts of the venue, which was totally our vibe; we loved it. The bridal suite and backyard where the men are designated to hang out are both very nice. The backyard is cool and shaded and chairs are provided, so all the guys needed was an ice chest for their beer. The bridal suite was great with it's historic charm, and beautiful farmhouse vibe. It was also handy that the small kitchen is available to all us girls since we were there all day. The price point for what you get with the venue is very fair in my opinion. I shopped around and checked other venues, most local in Yolo County, but a few others in Sacramento and surrounding areas. I absolutely loved that we get the ranch for 3 days, it took off so much pressure when you're planning and putting together your wedding yourself. We used a day of coordinator, but just family and friends helped to set up and breakdown everything, and it worked out great. Other venues didn't compare when I looked at what was included in their packages. As the bride, it was a great start to begin checking things off the list; it certainly made it a little easier that so much was included. Overall, we really enjoyed working with Brent and Chelsea. Although, the ranch is a fairly new venue, it's a great place for a wedding. They are constantly making improvements to make the Big Day easier or more beautiful. Even from when we first walked the venue in December 2017, to our wedding in September 2018, improvements were made and it made our day even easier and more special.

There are a few parking lots within a short walk, a street parking in the neighborhood. Pre-show we lined up for entry. There is a bar on the 2nd floor. The show room is beautiful with the 1st floor that can have seating, or a stand up audience. The 2nd floor has 3 tiered seating. There is not a bad seat in the house for watching the show. The sound system is very good. My wife and I look forward to returning for future shows.

I hate to update this with a bad rating, but my hearing has been DAMAGED after attending a show…read morehere. They had usually kept the sound levels here reasonable, but one show I attended was louder than usual. Afterwards, I have had ringing in my ears for the past TWELVE WEEKS. While I didn't think much of it during the show, I obviously would not have gone had I known it was going to cause this much damage. The venue should have posted a warning about the sound being above safe levels, and clearly advised patrons to use hearing protection and made that easily available. I learned too late that a sound level meter would have clearly shown that the sound levels were loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage. I'm normally the last person to complain about sound being too loud, but it's simply inexcusable that any show in a public venue would cause hearing damage! I have sent printed letters about this to the venue, its parent company and the management of the band. I have not received any response at all, not even an apology. I live very close to this venue and had attended many shows, but I no longer can after this. I greatly value my hearing and am now spending much time and money in efforts to minimize the damage this one show caused me. I was very happy to have this place open so close to me, but now I can't wait to move.

The addition of the cement strip in the middle going from the MU to the library seems to be a…read morewelcome addition to the vending areas when setting up here. Otherwise the only places to set up shops are around the edges of the gigantic lawn called the quad. Back when we used to be able to congregate without fear, this was a natural place to meet and relax with friends or to chill completely alone. There is always enough space to spread out although the weather may not cooperate. Two opposite sides of this area are the Memorial Union and Shields Library. The others are Hart/Wellman Halls and North/South Halls. In the summer, the oppressive heat sends people to the library or just completely off campus because lots of campus is closed. In the winter, the chill would send folks away looking for warmth! For the most part it was empty. It's a lot more empty these days with all of the happenings around town. It'll get busy for the Whole Earth Festival for the next two days and then it'll go back to being the sleepy lawn that it was. Maybe some folks will toss a frisbee to each other someday again. Heck, a Hacky Sack...something. For those unwilling to lose connection, the wireless connection "eduroam" is available to those who have instructional positions all over campus, including the quad. Go outside. Explore the grass while you can.

The California State Fair just ended for 2026, and I was fortunate to attend during Law…read moreEnforcement/Veteran's Appreciation Day. It was pretty crowded, despite the heat. The fair did not open each weekday until 4:00 pm, and 10:00 am from Friday to Sunday. There wasn't much on display this year, especially the very popular county displays. I only saw a couple. In fact, the mattress sales were taking up the area where there were county displays in the past. There was also a limited number of vendors this year. Plenty of the usual food booths though, and the Midway looked like a lot of fun for the thrill seekers. I was able to ride on the Monorail, so I had a great aerial view of the entire fair. One thing for sure, you're spending $15 on parking before you even get out of your car, so if you're looking to maximize you're experience, and try a variety of fair food, it's going to cost a bit.

My kids got to skateboard, and they provided free skateboards and helmets to borrow which was such a nice touch. That ended up being their favorite part of the day, and they had so much fun. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was extremely hot, there wasn't nearly enough shade, and it was very crowded. It was also hard to watch the competitions since it was difficult to see the events unless you were in the front. Overall, we still had a wonderful experience, and the kid friendly activities made the day worth it. With more shaded areas and better viewing for spectators, it would have been even better. We would definitely come back next year.

We had to stay here for a conference. This CA town has a population of 7500 people. Everyone knows each other and there are 4-6 big families known here from the town's origination. We were greeted upon arrival at the hotel registration desk. The registration is two large sit down desks with the hotel agents offering a glass of wine at check in. There is 1 restaurant attached to the hotel, and it is only open for most business from 4-9 Mon-Sun. They offer a coffee shop with pastries counter service Mon-Wed 7:30a-11:30a. It's a bit inconvenient because if you work earlier than 7:30, you must walk a block to another place or drive 10 mins to Starbucks. The hotel is beautiful, very minimalistic, rustic modern, and the design is geared towards Wine Vineyard/Tuscan/Farm like decor. There is a common area in the lobby, an outside large patio with a shallow fountain pool. The inside offers a two sides fireplace with seating on both sides. A small corner next to the 2 elevators has 3 tablets that are fixed in place for guests, this seems to be a business corner in the open space. There is also conference space. Our room was nice but when we arrived, the toilet paper stand was on top of the toilet seat. This was very odd at 8:30p since they had several hours to quality check our room before we checked in late at night. The good news is that I had no itchiness after staying here. There was a clean bed, bathroom, desk, and carpet. For our 3 night stay, it was a good experience.

Drawbacks to the venue: Historic building does not have A/C; ventilation is poor -- whether you're upstairs or down. Bathrooms are small. Off-street parking (metered) or the Sutter hospital garage.

My room was gorgeous- 1st floor has very tall ceilings which make the room feel spacious. The only minor issue was that they advertise free bikes but only had one which had flat tires . Recommend they invest in at least 4 comfort type commuter bikes that are user friendly and comfortable since Davis has so many nice bike paths . Also recommend upgrading their coffee in the dining room to something more flavorful. Overall I had a wonderful experience and will stay here again when I return to the area

The sent me to a best western in Dixon 10 miles away. I paid for the Hyatt house rate and got a best western in Dixon with no explanation. The girl at the desk said they tried to contact me but I got no email, text, or call. Feels like a bad bait and switch and a horrible experience. Beware!!
