I paid $12 for one packet of Bingo games, and had fun playing with some friends for about three hours total. Next month I want to come again! Remember to bring cash to purchase bingo games, extra games, and to purchase drinkies and snacks from the snack bar. There were nachos, hot dogs, and chips available yesterday. Beer, wine, and soda were available drinkies. They also had free water and coffee provided. If you don't have your own dobber for Bingo they provide free rentals, but you can also buy one for $1 in cash. They also have raffles included with your Bingo packet, so hang on to that ticket. I won a bottle of Sobon Cab Sauv in one of the raffle drawings yesterday! :-) They have bathrooms downstairs and upstairs too, and though it does get busy we were easily able to find five seats together. Of course, two of us did show up early. For next time I will remember to again arrive early and bring cash for this cash only event. If you have never played legit Bingo before, they are patient and helpful. It is beginner friendly with many helpers available and walking around the room. Highly recommend! Yay Bingo! Outside food is fine. Street parking.

Ultimately, I think this is an awesome resource in our community! I love that various groups and communities are able to rent out the space for whatever the need. I also love all of the community events that they put on. From Bingo to movie nights, I love the effort they are putting into creating an awesome community space. The building itself is a bit out dated, but it is well maintained.

I was not very impressed by the hall itself unfortunately. The location is a bit out of the way and the lighting is terrible! I felt as though I was in an elementary school cafeteria or something. The chairs and tables were much too close together, there was no room to walk. The kitchen area is very out of the way and the opening is so small that it isn't ideal for a large number of people. Over all this spot may be better for day time events or for events with a smaller group of people but I wouldn't book big events such as a wedding here.

(The main room holds something like 400 people!) The venue is clean and has an ample sized kitchen for a great deal of cooking. There's also a courtyard (which isn't really usable given the weather in Davis for the vast majority of the year) and a large parking lot. One downside is that the chairs and tables they provide are really flimsy. The chairs are really uncomfortable plastic, and the tables are those long cafeteria-style tables that roll away easily. They do have bathrooms with plenty of stalls, but the bathrooms are over in the back of the Veterans Hall, where it can be kind of drafty. The main room has a small stage. The event I went to really wasn't quite matched up to the Veterans Hall, as it was supposed to be more formal than the venue's feel. I'd probably have chosen a different place, but I could still see the Veterans Memorial Hall being a good place to have something like a kid's large birthday party.

I love this event and we come to it every year from the past x number of years. This year they gathered 99.9% of all the student exhibits into the old Whole Foods store across the street from John Natsoulas Gallery. It was a perfect location. Instead of searching all over Davis trying not to miss and exhibit it was all in one place this time. It put off a differnt vibe, which was unique of course. The connivence was great, but I do miss having them divided up so you could focus on one school a a time. This new format has its pros and cons. I love the student exhibits of this Conference the best. You can sign up for demonstrations and lectures if you want, I haven't yet, but many people do and it's a wonderful opportunity. Schools all over California visit. The farthest school we came across is San Diego, but there may be farther schools. Both High Schools and Collage participate. I love them both. Some of those High School students are amazing and out do the Collage Students. All students come and look around for further inspiration. Years ago I used to dabble in ceramics. As a kid I loved taking Ceramics classes in the Community Center. As an adult I used to go to Verge Gallery of the Arts and participated in their open ceramics studio, which I loved. I really should get back into it. I had fun back in the day. There were several schools that created chains out of class. I found that really fascinating. I'd like to try that technique out. One of the Walnut Creek exhibitors crocheted a basket out of yarn and dipped it in Slip (LiquId Clay), and stuck a balloon it it so when it dried it would be poofy. It was so facinating.

We stopped by because we had will call tickets for the garden tour. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. She gave us a little goodie bag which we appreciated. The place was clean and organize, it was also serene and relaxing. As for the garden tour event, the description on the Pence Gallery website said there would be 7-10 gardens. Sadly, there were only FIVE + a stop at the gallery, and it literally took us less than two hours to do the whole tour. We definitely would have planned our morning differently had we known there were only five gardens. Hoping they offer more gardens next year! Other than that, we had a good experience at Pence Gallery and their garden tour event.
