We went on our 20-year wedding anniversary trip and had everything carefully scheduled, including a pre-scheduled Uber pickup at 3:35 AM from our resort. At 3:30 AM, despite having a driver assigned and everything confirmed, Uber canceled on us. We were left scrambling and quickly realized that getting another driver at that hour on Sanibel/Captiva is nearly impossible -- something we later learned is unfortunately pretty common. Thankfully, Exquisite Services absolutely saved us. They stepped in immediately when Uber dropped the ball and made sure we got to the airport on time. The professionalism and reliability were night and day compared to our experience with Uber. This was a hard lesson learned: I won't ever rely on Uber for something this important again. Small city rides? Sure. But for airport transportation or anything that truly matters -- no chance. I wish to report a REPREHENSIBLE experience with Uber. Pick up was SRQ airport. Driver dropped off at a downtown Sarasota condo. Driver unloaded luggage. While so doing, I quickly walked my dog who needed to relieve himself after a long travel day. My companion tipped driver $20. When I returned, Uber was gone. My handbag (lime green tote) was still in the back seat. (It contained many valuable items totaling thousands and thousands of dollars -such as cash and gold jewelry, not to mention wallet, iPad and iPhone - because I was moving through airports that day.). In all likelihood, the value of this theft would qualify for a first degree felony charge. Immediately, my companion made 2 calls to driver and texted twice. Driver ignored. Then, my companion called Uber to report the loss. Uber immediately attempted to contact driver. Driver ignored his employer as well. After 3 days, driver responded to Uber that "he couldn't find anything". For that meager reason , Uber determined that the matter had been "resolved". Thereafter Uber REFUSED to offer any assistance to myself or my companion. Uber would not provide the driver's name or any other relevant information. I filed a police report. I hired a private investigator. I composed a detailed letter to Uber Chief Legal Counsel as well as their Vice President for Safety. BOTH EXECUTIVES COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. It has been over a month without any response from UBER. I recommend you don't ever use UBER. In a case such as driver theft, the customer is OUT OF LUCK. Uber's business model is obviously designed to protect its drivers and disrespect the customer. Such policies are UNACCFEPTABLE. PS. After thorough investigation, I am aware of this driver's criminal history. Shame on Uber for failing to explore this driver's character and integrity. read more

I placed an order with Uber Eats and wanted to switch payment methods, but I accidentally cancelled the order instead of the payment method. I contacted them IMMEDIATELY so they could help me reactivate my order. They refused to do it and still charged me for the food but did not have it delivered. Ordered from Uber Eats at 5:20ish and the estimated delivery time was 45-minutes to an hour. Great! I called after the delivery was extended from 6:15-6:25-6:35-6:45. Going from 1 hour delivery to 2 hours is significant... the CSR I spoke with was completely unaccommodating and made no concessions even when I was asking a refund and just asking they NOT deliver the food... I've been in the hospitality and customer service industry for 7 years and this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Totally unacceptable response and no regard for customer experience. It's not lost on us that the restaurant impacts delivery time, but extending delivery a past double the estimated time is just not ok without at least offering a refund. Why I'll never use Uber again. I receive an email that your fare has been adjusted the day after I take an uber from the beach to a friend's house. From an $8 dollar ride to $28 dollars. A cleaning fee! The driver picks up 4 people from the beach and makes no qualms about us as we enter the car. Very nice quick ride. Next day he decided that he wanted more money. The reason is that it is connected to a phone number that was disconnected. Every time I try to access the account, they tell me that my contact info is incorrect. Uber stole over $150 from me! I regret giving my credit card information to this company. They can charge any amount they want to your card and good luck getting any resolution to your customer service complaint. I was charged for a trip that I didn't take and when I contacted customer service, I heard a number of excuses why they wouldn't refund my stolen money. I believe the driver scammed me and then the company ignored my complaint over and over again. I spent around $150 per month on Uber services but now I spend a bit more on a regular taxi. I've never been ripped off by a regular taxi. I'll consider using this service again if they show some fairness and decent customer service skills. Until then, nope. If I could leave a review with 0 stars for Uber, I would! I was going on vacation for 2 weeks, and pondered how to best get from Sarasota to Tampa airport for a 8:10 a.m. flight. I considered renting a car and staying at a hotel the night before, hiring someone on a recommendation, Uber, etc. As much as I hate getting up early, I finally decided on Uber. I figured I could nap on the way there. I received confirmation that the driver would be at my house between 5:35 and 5:45. No one showed up, and there is no way to contact Uber. The best they could do on their app was tell me that they could get a driver here at 7 a.m. Oh, that's great -- that won't even get me to the airport in time for my flight. So I had to get in my car and drive to Tampa. I dropped off my bags, got my boarding pass, and proceeded to the economy lot. I was in a panic, as the economy lot is so far away from the terminal, and I didn't see a curb. I fell, had to be taken to the ER, missed my flight, and almost missed my cruise. Nice job, Uber!!!! Horrible. Beware of deceptive business practices around 'surge pricing'. I had scheduled to take Uber to the airport. Was quoted -and agreed to- a fare of $38. This was about 15 min before I needed to leave. As soon as the Uber pulls up, I get a small flash on my screen saying the price has changed due to surge pricing. No new fare is quoted. The driver could not discern what the new price would be. There was no way to tell from the app. At this point the driver is there and I had no time to rework my transportation to the airport, so I hold my breath and hope for the best. Bad idea. The fare ended up $88. Over DOUBLE the original quoted price. This is TOTALLY unfair. Being responsible drinkers my friends and I decided to take an uber. Our uber driver pulls up, rolls down his window, points at my friend and says he isn't taking us because she is drunk. Well the driver then became extremely aggressive and actually pulled a knife out and said he would stab us!
