UBER TOTALLY SCREWED US OUT OF $612!!! Reserved and prepaid for ride to PGD airpoart DAYS in advance. Showed assigned drivers name 2 days before pickup. 30 minutes before pickup time, name disappears and no one ever shows. Called Uber and said "sorry but no other driver is available in your area. ( no kidding Sherlock) Had to drive our car and cost over $600 for long term parking. read more

We went on our 20-year wedding anniversary trip and had everything carefully scheduled, including a pre-scheduled Uber pickup at 3:35 AM from our resort. At 3:30 AM, despite having a driver assigned and everything confirmed, Uber canceled on us. We were left scrambling and quickly realized that getting another driver at that hour on Sanibel/Captiva is nearly impossible -- something we later learned is unfortunately pretty common. Thankfully, Exquisite Services absolutely saved us. They stepped in immediately when Uber dropped the ball and made sure we got to the airport on time. The professionalism and reliability were night and day compared to our experience with Uber. This was a hard lesson learned: I won't ever rely on Uber for something this important again. Small city rides? Sure. But for airport transportation or anything that truly matters -- no chance. We are incredibly grateful to Exquisite Services for taking care of us when it counted most. read more

I reserved a ride almost 24 hours in advance and received a confirmation of my reservation, I received several notifications regarding my upcoming reservation and safety check recommendations as verification of license plate number, driver's name etc. However as the pickup time approached and passed there was no driver, I only received a notice saying sorry do you want to schedule a ride now at 3 full minutes after ride didn't show up. I immediately requested another ride but it took over 15 minutes to find another ride then another 10 minutes before driver picked me up. I was very late and it cost me a job that day. I find it extremely hypocritical that Uber imposes a cancellation fee if the rider cancels within an hour of the scheduled ride. However they can cancel your confirmed reservation after the reserved pick up time without any apologies, explanation or offer to make up for the extreme inconvenience put upon the rider. To reach customer service within the Uber app is ridiculous and frustrating beyond any reasonable level and I'm convinced now that it's strategic and intentional on Ubers part. They charge an hour prior to pickup time but don't offer a word of remorse or assistance for not showing up or notifying the rider until post scheduled pick up time. How does that make sense? read more

I wish to report a REPREHENSIBLE experience with Uber. Pick up was SRQ airport. Driver dropped off at a downtown Sarasota condo. Driver unloaded luggage. While so doing, I quickly walked my dog who needed to relieve himself after a long travel day. My companion tipped driver $20. When I returned, Uber was gone. My handbag (lime green tote) was still in the back seat. (It contained many valuable items totaling thousands and thousands of dollars -such as cash and gold jewelry, not to mention wallet, iPad and iPhone - because I was moving through airports that day.). In all likelihood, the value of this theft would qualify for a first degree felony charge. Immediately, my companion made 2 calls to driver and texted twice. Driver ignored. Then, my companion called Uber to report the loss. Uber immediately attempted to contact driver. Driver ignored his employer as well. After 3 days, driver responded to Uber that "he couldn't find anything". For that meager reason , Uber determined that the matter had been "resolved". Thereafter Uber REFUSED to offer any assistance to myself or my companion. Uber would not provide the driver's name or any other relevant information. I filed a police report. I hired a private investigator. I composed a detailed letter to Uber Chief Legal Counsel as well as their Vice President for Safety. BOTH EXECUTIVES COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. It has been over a month without any response from UBER. I recommend you don't ever use UBER. In a case such as driver theft, the customer is OUT OF LUCK. Uber's business model is obviously designed to protect its drivers and disrespect the customer. Such policies are UNACCFEPTABLE. PS. After thorough investigation, I am aware of this driver's criminal history. Shame on Uber for failing to explore this driver's character and integrity. read more

Uber is ass, all I really have to say. Had 5 people to get to the airport and paid $100 for an XL, got a ride where even the driver was unaware it was supposed to be an XL, told we wouldn't all fit. read more

HORRIBLE! Driver left with my handbag in back seat. Driver won't respond to me. Uber will NOT give me any information so I can follow up. Uber protects their own and has no regard for a customer suffering a loss. read more

Got picked up at SRQ airport. Uber driver left with my handbag in back seat. Despite numerous attempts, Driver refused all contact. Uber will offer NO ASSISTANCE in identifying this driver. I been charged for ride that didn't take place. I ordered a ride. The driver didn't show up,after telling me he is in his way. I tried to get a refund. I got only portion. The app is soooo bad you can't text with live person. The Bot is horrible. Tried 3 times with no success! read more

I am an Uber I have a five star decides to put me very far down in the queue after four years and thousands of rides and give decent rides to the Ukrainian drivers who have suddenly come here from Tampa. They will offer me two dollars to pick up food for someone that means I go to the for it to be prepared and then drive it to the for two measly dollars that's how Uber treats their drivers. I also have a spotless car speak English the nicest driver. They have most passengers. Tell me they have either been harassed by an Uber driver or lost because the driver couldn't speak English. If you were considering a job with Uber I would think about driving Lyft instead read more

The car service is fine. UBER WEBSITE SUCKS!!!!!!! no customer service contact for tech issues . Their web site is horrible. I get an email receipt and cant rate or tip the driver. clicking on the link with no response. Company customer services non existent. read more

I should not be charged a cancellation fee for this trip. The driver went to a wrong place and waited there without calling me. I called to find out where he was and told me that he was in a different place. Since he did not know how to get to the restaurant where I was waiting, he decided to cancel the order. It was not me who cancelled! Uber should not employ drivers who do not know how to use GPS. Now I am charged a fee for the driver's stupidity. read more

Only if I were absolutely desperate would I take an Uber. I calculated going approx. 7 miles at one point & it would have cost over $32. Read their contract - the extras they tack on are sneaky & ridiculous. It's like what they tack on for AirBnB. Robbery. read more

Bad experience with Uber for airport ride to SRQ Bradenton airport. He actually (according to the map) went by my house by several blocks and headed for the airport. He never picked me up!! I messaged him and he did not respond. I was charged for the ride. read more

never again. I tried to rent a "wheelchair accessible" vehicle through Uber's app specifically catered to wheelchair users. I later received confirmation that a Chevy Suburban was picking me up and returning me for $142. price gouging handicap people is one thing but I can't climb in a tall SUV because I can't stand. Trying to get an appropriate vehicle was impossible. they have no contact information and when I finally found a number they said I had to cancel the vehicle. I told them I wanted a car that would permit transfers and she said to keep booking until I got a sedan. how stupid is that? they do not know how to transport disabled people so they should not have a wheelchair accessible vehicle portal. very inhumane read more

Tried them once. They were a no show and left me stranded with no way to get to airport for international flight.

I have booked multiple trips for employees since Hurricane Helene. This driver was booked for 5pm but showed up at 4:55pm. The employee was standing in the parking lot at 5:01 pm but the driver had already left. I received the now-show fee at 5:05pm. What a SCAM! Paid for the ride never taken AND a no-show fee! This has happened twice in the last three days. Trying to contact Uber customer service just adds another layer of ludicrous to the situation as they repeatedly hang up on you. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE UBER! read more

They have the worst customer service for their drivers!! If your looking to deliver,. do not sign up with UBER. Go to GRUBHUB they treat you better and you receive better support. I have done over 12,000 deliveries with this company . I have a technical problem and there is no one to help you. All they do is pass the buck.THey treat you loke Shit. I have worked for Uber Eats for a few months now and my biggest complaint is the customer service department. It's not in America don't know where they are located but no one speaks English and or can understand English. Now all the information I stated here will not be understood so I'm not sure why I left this message. read more

I placed an order with Uber Eats and wanted to switch payment methods, but I accidentally cancelled the order instead of the payment method. I contacted them IMMEDIATELY so they could help me reactivate my order. They refused to do it and still charged me for the food but did not have it delivered. I even spoke to the restaurant and they had not even received or processed my order. The agents just kept cutting me off and passing me off to other agents who just copied and pasted the same lame responses. NOBODY was willing to help me. I am never using them again! Horrible customer service! read more

Ordered from Uber Eats at 5:20ish and the estimated delivery time was 45-minutes to an hour. Great! I called after the delivery was extended from 6:15-6:25-6:35-6:45. Going from 1 hour delivery to 2 hours is significant... the CSR I spoke with was completely unaccommodating and made no concessions even when I was asking a refund and just asking they NOT deliver the food... I've been in the hospitality and customer service industry for 7 years and this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Totally unacceptable response and no regard for customer experience. It's not lost on us that the restaurant impacts delivery time, but extending delivery a past double the estimated time is just not ok without at least offering a refund. Maybe this is why Uber (Eats) posted a 5 billion profit loss in 1 quarter? read more

Why I'll never use Uber again. I receive an email that your fare has been adjusted the day after I take an uber from the beach to a friend's house. From an $8 dollar ride to $28 dollars. A cleaning fee! The driver picks up 4 people from the beach and makes no qualms about us as we enter the car. Very nice quick ride. Next day he decided that he wanted more money. Takes the attached pics of a little sand in the car and charges me $20 for cleaning. WTF? I have taken hundreds of rides and this nonsense has put a sour taste in my mouth. I am using Lyft from here on out. Watch out! read more

Uber - Taxis Near Me

Help! If anyone at Uber is reading this review, please help me with this problem. I have an Uber account, but am unable to access it. The reason is that it is connected to a phone number that was disconnected. Every time I try to access the account, they tell me that my contact info is incorrect. I am unable to disable that number and replace it with a new number. Please let me know through Yelp how I can reconnect with Uber. Of course, Uber does not provide a telephone number for customer service. What a company!! Or, does anyone else have a suggestion? read more

Very stressful experience on 12/31/2017. Found that you can't reach Uber customer service (even if they have such a service) directly-- phone (heck no, would require a real person), email (nah, still may require a person), chat (ditto about real people). My account was hacked and $150 worth of rides charged before I could cancel my Uber app and my debit card. Sorry Uber, get real with customer service. read more

Uber stole over $150 from me! I regret giving my credit card information to this company. They can charge any amount they want to your card and good luck getting any resolution to your customer service complaint. I was charged for a trip that I didn't take and when I contacted customer service, I heard a number of excuses why they wouldn't refund my stolen money. I believe the driver scammed me and then the company ignored my complaint over and over again. I spent around $150 per month on Uber services but now I spend a bit more on a regular taxi. I've never been ripped off by a regular taxi. I'll consider using this service again if they show some fairness and decent customer service skills. Until then, nope. I would recommend using a pre-paid credit card with a limited amount available for them to steal, if you must use this risky service. All just my opinion. read more

If I could leave a review with 0 stars for Uber, I would! I was going on vacation for 2 weeks, and pondered how to best get from Sarasota to Tampa airport for a 8:10 a.m. flight. I considered renting a car and staying at a hotel the night before, hiring someone on a recommendation, Uber, etc. As much as I hate getting up early, I finally decided on Uber. I figured I could nap on the way there. I received confirmation that the driver would be at my house between 5:35 and 5:45. No one showed up, and there is no way to contact Uber. The best they could do on their app was tell me that they could get a driver here at 7 a.m. Oh, that's great -- that won't even get me to the airport in time for my flight. So I had to get in my car and drive to Tampa. I dropped off my bags, got my boarding pass, and proceeded to the economy lot. I was in a panic, as the economy lot is so far away from the terminal, and I didn't see a curb. I fell, had to be taken to the ER, missed my flight, and almost missed my cruise. Nice job, Uber!!!! When I log into my account, it says the ride was canceled, and allows no way to complain. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, UBER!!! YOU SUCK!!!! read more

Don't even bother. I had a very professional driver in 11/2018. So I only go out once a year.? This year driver couldn't find his way out of my dead end street or home to his house. LOL Uber your serious right? As a Driver this is a frigging joke. Uber expects drivers to pick up passengers with no known address of destination. Uber is a frigging joke and class action lawsuit in the making. I picked up 2 riders total fare rider 1) 5.40 driver cut after fees 2.40 almost 50% uber got. Then 15.86 trip and driver cut 9.54 also 40% almost. See you in court Uber... Uber has no customer support and no driver support. Horrible. Beware of deceptive business practices around 'surge pricing'. I had scheduled to take Uber to the airport. Was quoted -and agreed to- a fare of $38. This was about 15 min before I needed to leave. As soon as the Uber pulls up, I get a small flash on my screen saying the price has changed due to surge pricing. No new fare is quoted. The driver could not discern what the new price would be. There was no way to tell from the app. At this point the driver is there and I had no time to rework my transportation to the airport, so I hold my breath and hope for the best. Bad idea. The fare ended up $88. Over DOUBLE the original quoted price. This is TOTALLY unfair. There was absolutely no way to know what the fare was going to be and they changed the price on me at the last second before leaving. If this is not deceptive business practices I don't know what is. Uber, this is just wrong. read more

Wanted to get an cost estimate and the next thing I know I have a driver coming to pick me up ... and then a $5 charge to cancel something I never wanted. Google search said you can get an estimate if you go to the app and "request an estimate" ... doesn't say at what point you can ask for and estimate and the next thing after I entered the two locations I get a message that the driver is on his way ... Wtf! Once realized what happened and looked for "how to cancel" I ended up with the $5 charge. Gotta believe that they get a lot of their revenue this way. read more

I loved uber that is until this past weekend. I have been using uber for several years and after my experience on Friday I'll never feel safe using this service again! Being responsible drinkers my friends and I decided to take an uber. Our uber driver pulls up, rolls down his window, points at my friend and says he isn't taking us because she is drunk. He starts to drive away and my boyfriend waves his hand to stop him and says to the driver are you joking? This is what you get paid for, taking drunk people home. Well the driver then became extremely aggressive and actually pulled a knife out and said he would stab us! We got another cab and as we were all getting in the uber driver with a knife starts tapping on the window yelling at us! The driver got us home but apparently the uber driver said we hit him and uber suspended my friends account. All I have to say is WOW!! Uber could seriously care less about the passengers safety. It was definitely a blessing we didn't get into the car with the crazy off the wall uber driver. read more
