First time using Uber and the map interface was horrible showing the pick up locations. It wouldn't show the direction I was heading or live movement to show where you're even going. No actual address showing for the pickup spots make it even worse. My driver showed up, refused to call me when asked, and instead cancelled and paid themselves a convenience fee at my expense then ditched me. Customer support is chat only and they ditched to me another team and stated up to 24 hrs for support. I rode my dependable bicycle afterwards and Uber is a waste of time and money. read more

Trying to get a refund for a ride that the driver canceled on us. We made arrangements the day before to be picked up at a Universal Studios resort hotel at 9:30am We did not receive information from the driver, who he was or if he was on his way. We were there asking other drivers if they were there for us when I received the cancelation notice. The dirver canceled 1 minute after our pick up time and we were forced to hire another ride. Uber continues to direct me to their cancelation policy with no help from a real person. What I have whitnessed in the past is that drivers show up and flag people down that they are Uber drivers and over charge 3-4x what is allowed through the Uber app. I suspect that that our driver purposely canceled on us in order to pulll off this dirty scheme. I mean loose steering, broken springs, tired shocks, cracked windshields, etc. The drivers tend to be slightly better, but most speed and follow to closely. I booked a ride at 2.34 PM on 04/04/2023 from airport. The guy never came, and the map showed he is 1-2 min away for like 20mmin. I was standing outside in freezing cold, 20 min later he sent a text asking where I'm, I said 6B, he asked what is 6B. That's when I realized he is not at the airport. He agreed he is not but lied saying he came and went. Original time was 12 min wait, there is no way he came and left while I was standing and scannnig LIC plates. Uber may be considered a great company. However this experience was not good. I was first scheduled to be picked up by Anthony. Then after waiting for 25 minutes my driver was changed to Paul and was set to wait for another 25 minutes. Both of these drivers kept us waiting while they completed another ride. Uber drivers should not commit to a ride until they have completed their current drive. This is inconsiderate to the riders and it limits other drivers from a chance to pick up a fare. I cancelled the ride and went with Lyft. Get your act together and then go back into service. This is a follow up 4 hours later, because I am livid. The close to an hour we wasted waiting for the drivers caused us our lunch time. We were on a limited schedule. I had been using Lyft so far and didn't have a problem. As a matter of fact it was a Lyft driver the one who picked us up within minutes of our request. I felt like giving Uber a chance. Do not Use uber scheduling services in Park City if depend on a ride I scheduled an Uber pickup on Sunday for a Monday pick up to the airport. At time of scheduled pick up I receive the assigned driver and was told 20 minutes away even though my scheduled pick up was in 2 minutes. I was heading to a surprise party for my friend who was turning 90 and I needed a ride. I scheduled an Uber ride and was surprised that it would be 20 minutes wait and cost $21.50 to go from Sugarhouse to downtown Salt Lake, but even more surprised when after waiting 9 minutes the driver called and said he had another appointment and couldn't pick me up. He said I needed to cancel the ride so I wouldn't be charged and then reschedule with another driver. When I cancelled the ride there was a $5.50 charge for the driver's time which he said he would refund, and he did, but when I tried to reschedule with Uber the cost was now $32.00. I declined the ride and scheduled with Lyft. The Lyft driver was there within 6 minutes and the charge was around $11.00. I will Uber no more. It will be Lyft or a taxi. read more

I had two small dogs in a crate, a small suitcase and several bags so I asked for a bigger vehicle and was assigned a Ford Expedition. Crazy TRUE story!! My husband and I were on our 10 year anniversary trip, and unfortunately we flew Delta (power outage/grounded flights) as the suffered a huge outage. Our flight from SLC to Kalispell, MT was delayed then cancelled for a minimum of 24 hours (and NO promise in that) with an autistic kiddo melting down unable to understand why mom and dad wouldn't be home, our hearts just sank. We needed to be home with our son, not simply a want to be home, but at this point he needed us. We happened to run into our pastors wife at the flight desk (she was trying to get home to her kiddos as well). The 3 of us decided we could home quicker if we drive (10 hour drive from SLC) so we went down to rent a car and drive home, but bc of all the cancelled flights ALL rental places had nothing, zip, zero nada! No trains, buses. It was 1:30 in the morning we were beyond tired and heartbroken. Daniele (pastors wife) just being flippant said "wonder if Uber would do it" not thinking they actually would, I mean it's a 630 mile trip one way! Low and behold Micheal arrived asked where we were headed and nervously my husband replied "Montana" Michael asked "oh where's that?" So we explained to him where we live that's it a loooong drive and his reply "oh Montana, never been there buts it's on my bucket list, let's go!" No Joke this man is just incredible! We started our journey home from SLC airport all the way to Kalispell, MT at the wee early hours of the morning. He was beyond friendly, fun to talk with and get this he literally smiled the ENTIRE trip, he was so happy to see Montana. We did blow a tire in Dillon, MT thankfully we had a les schawab about a mile away, as his spare was flat as well. Michael wasn't even upset, just smiled, it happens. We offered him a decent amount of money for blessing us all so much by getting us home to our children and he just said "no I don't want your money, it was my pleasure. All I ask is that you pay it forward." I mean this man took 20 hours, a whole day just to get us home and didn't want anything in return!! Such a HUGE blessing! After getting us home he decided since he was already here to take an impromptu vacation for a few days! Sadly we wrote his personal number wrong on our paper (we were incredibly tired and it was a stressful trip home) we wanted to treat him to dinner while he was here. Checking our flight status through this day, we realized the magnitude of what this man did for us, according to flight schedules we wouldn't have been able to make it home until Friday, which would have been an extra 3 days! We got contacted and collected by Driver David. If you're lucky you'll get Driver David. He is so helpful, friendly and down to earth. Some days my mind thinks I'd get murdered by a driver but David was so professional I never had a chance to be nervous. He has everything set up for guests in his car. He has treats (mints, and candies) pens, stickies, biz cards, the works. He even has packets he made for "Things to do in SLC!" He's super awesome and kind. I've ridden with Uber quite a few times. It's good, but the only reason I use them is that it's supposed to be cashless. That is, no figuring out the fare and a tip and having the correct change. Now with their recent change in tipping policy I now have to figure out tips and carry cash. I have no problem with tipping as long as it's part of the app. Until Uber changes their app I'm switching to Lyft which is just as good, or better service. read more

Ordered a ride in Park City around midnight on July 14. There were multiple drivers in the area. Marwan answered my request and the app indicated he was on the way. He called me and told me he needed me to cancel the ride and I could find another driver as he could not cancel due to Uber's policy. He said I could do it on the app with no consequence. The app charged me $5 to cancel his ride as I was going to be stuck with no ride if I did not cancel on the app. I guess we were inconvenient for him. He should not have agreed to the ride! Me and my wife took a trip to New York in September and we used uber a few times. After returning home we both deleted the app, however my wife forgot to delete my credit off her account before removing the app from her phone. Then I see a $10 charge every month on the 24th starting in November when neither of us are currently using it and in no way shape or form did we subscribe or sign up for anything. So I call them and get the WORST customer service in the world. I scheduled 2 call backs that never happened and then the 3rd person I talked to hung up on me after he explained that customer support is primarily for drivers so he can't help me. so I email them and explain that they have charged my card for the last 4 months WRONGFULLY and they tell me that its essentially my fault and they refused to refund me. Uber's customer service is horrible and they literally charged my card for 4 months when neither me or my wife even had the app on our phones. I am writing this review to let others know that I had a very bad experience with Uber a couple of weeks ago. My car has a problem with the transmission which is stressful enough. We have been using Uber to get to and from work. I have been a great customer with Uber and I always give 5 star reviews to my drivers and give very good tips. This particular time I called an Uber and so did my fiance, I should have just gone with his. I waited for awhile with no sign of my Uber even though it said he was there. He called me to find out where I was and I asked him if he saw the Papa Johns on the corner, he said that he didn't. He said something about Smiths and so I figure he was around the block somewhere. We went back and forth and he call me about 4 times and still couldn't find me. I was standing in the street so very visible. I finally had to go and meet him to get the drive at the Papa Johns of which he said he didn't see (in the meantime I thought he went into our condo parking so I had to run in and get the remote and dropped it and broke it as I was flustered). I got in the car and we got on 215 south. I was trying to call work to tell them I would be late (it took him 30 min to find me), he then took the I80 East exit instead of 201, he either didn't have the GPS running or he couldn't read it? He took me all the way back to town, by 600 south and to 13th south before going to 900 west to get back on the 201, to redwood and to work. By this time I was 30 minutes late to work. I bit later I checked my phone to rate the ride and saw that he hadn't closed me out, I tried to hit cancel and it actually double charged me. I contacted Uber by email and explained. They refunded me the overage. I asked them to refund the ride as it was very unprofessional and problematic. They said that they could not do that. I told them they should at least give me a discount for the inconvenience and we went back and forth and they refused to give me a discount, even 10% would have made me feel a little better like they cared but they said they wouldn't give me anything else. The refund they gave me was their fault and I felt like the driver tried to make it look like we made multiple stops. He hardly spoke english and couldn't follow even my directions. I told Uber that I would go with Lyft if they were not going to make it right, I told them that they may not care because I am one person but if there are a lot of "me's" giving reviews like this they should care. I didn't hear anything. I have been taking Lyft with no problems and they have always found my fiance and I right away no matter where we are. They are more professional and just very nice. There were nice drivers with Uber to but their customer service was void. They do not make the situation right even when they should. Don't go with them, they really are not reputable in my opinion.
