My driver was extremely inept at giving me verbal directions on where to go to find his car. "I am under the sky", is an NOT accurate way to describe where your car is located. Then he had the nerve to ask me if I was able to speak English because I didn't understand that extremely helpful description of where his car was located. Uber is an easy app to load and set up on your phone. Whether you use it on a regular basis or not, it's a back up plan that all drivers should have at their fingertips. The app gives you an opportunity to enter where you'd like to go and see prices for the ride, by type of car. Larger cars are available for bigger parties. Once you've secured the ride you get the driver's name and location. You can also dial the driver in case of an issue (for example, some pick up spots are confusing). The app gives you an opportunity to leave tips and rate drivers. Overall, I've had a good experience with Uber. Most drivers have been friendly and make a comfortable spot; however, I do wish that Uber offered a discrete "block" feature for some drivers to ensure they don't pick me up again. read more

I should give a zero star for this Uber in Louisville Ky The driver name Abel with a red Dodge Journey license A8K344 was confirmed to pick me up and drop me off at Greyhound bus station at Muhammad Ali St. in Louisville KY, however at around 20 minutes before promised pick up time, he drove half way then notified me that there was an accident that occurred on the way and he wouldn't pick me up. He also stated that he was unable to cancel the ride. I tried several times to communicate with him via phone and text hopeful that Uber head quarter would provide us another ride unsuccessfully . However On the locator car map , it showed that he turned around to pick somebody up at the airport . I also got charged for the amount of $ 36 something dollars due to the cancellation ride that was never provided to customer. Because of the dishonest, unprofessional manner of this Abel driver , I missed my scheduled Greyhound bus to Columbus Ohio and also get $ 60 penalty fee for cancellation. I request an explanation from Uber as well as this driver named Abel with a Red Dodge Journey licensed # A 8K344 about this incident. I also request a full refund of $96 for the penalty that I have to pay regarding the missed Greyhound trip and the cancellation fee from Uber . That not included the financial loss from business trip that I missed in Columbus Ohio and the emotional damage that this driver unprofessional manner had caused. Almost run over this evening by Uber driver. Market and Campbell cross walk in Louisville. Uber driver speeding like a bat out of hell and, rather than stop, he honks his horn as I'm midway across street. Yes, I looked before I stepped off the curb. Uber has helped me out in a pinch more than a few times. I'm so happy that 1) ride-sharing has come to Louisville and 2) there is enough demand to keep the drivers active. My most recent rides were today -- the result of my car being in the shop due to a bum tire and dead brake light. Even though Gunter, the VW Jetta, was on the DL, that doesn't mean my meetings and other obligations go away. So at about 10:30 a.m. I hailed an Uber via the app. Jon, driving a Honda Civic, accepted my ride request and made it to my house about 10 minutes later. Since Uber and other ride-sharing services are still picking up here, you sometimes have to wait about 10 minutes for a car to reach you. But being able to watch the car make its way to you on the app takes some of the anxiety over where's the car and when it will get here. After picking me up, Jon made his way to my meeting location. Easy peasy. And then to get home, I used Uber again -- this time getting Briston in a Kia Soul. Briston came from another side of town, so I had to wait about 12 minutes. I was impressed, though, by the fact that Briston had complimentary bottled water in his backseat and fun Xmas lights strung across the car's ceiling. Briston told me that he quit his "day job" this week to drive for Uber full-time. That's great that he gets enough work to keep him active. Both rides cost me about $4.80 each -- not too shabby. (But beware of surge pricing on busy nights. Get a fare estimate before you go.) The drivers have always been courteous and professional. I get to where I need to be quickly. I don't have to worry about carrying cash or figuring out tips. And I can take care of getting a cab, fast and efficiently. The ride was fast and the cost was less than a cab would have been. One neat feature that the app is the "split fare" option, which he explained to me in greater detail. Uber does just that. * Cheaper than a taxi. * More personable than a taxi. * More exciting than a taxi. Any questions here? The reason I give Uber 4 stars over 5 stars is because... I prefer Lyft. Uber will limit how far they will come to collect you. For someone that lives in the often neglected Southend of Louisville, that's a bit of a pain. Whereas, Lyft will pick you up anywhere, as long as a driver is available and willing to drive that far. Secondly, the Lyft app is just "cleaner" and seemingly more easy to use than the Uber app. Maybe y'all disagree. I don't know. Just my opinion, yo. As long as Uber exists, I'll definitely use it. Uber has been my life saver a numerous amount of times. Not only is it dirt cheap, but it is truly an app that has added so much safety to this city. It's great to get to choose the size/luxury, as well as how many people need to fit in the car. The drivers I've experienced are for the most part friendly, and are great drivers. I believe the fare is one of the cheapest from all of the ride sharing apps. When I get lugged around downtown, I typically only pay around 6-15$. Some Ubers can even take you long distances, I've heard of one taking a girl from Kentucky to Florida!! What I dislike is that it can be hard to get an Uber on the weekdays. With Louisville being a smaller city, the demand is incredibly less and there aren't a lot of drivers if it's not the weekend. Overall Uber has made such a positive impact on drunk driving, and I can see it sticking around the Ville for quite a while. read more

My friend and I tried to take an Uber from the airport home. When he pulled another fair jumped in and the driver and the fair insisted it was the other fare's ride. We had the make and license number of the Uber he just chose to to take her. Seconds later the app showed "cancellled." From now on we'll stick to more reliable taxi's. read more

With one minor exception I used the UberX service as my primary means of transportation while visiting Louisville and it was a great experience. Prices were fair, during my time using UberX the base fare was $1.00 + $0.14/minute + $0.80/Mile. Still cheaper than a taxi, and that price covers up to 4 riders. One thing that does bother me is Surge pricing, this happens during peak hours when riders outnumber drivers. While I did experience this once I switched over to Lyft where I had a free ride waiting for me. Anyways Surge Pricing serves as in incentive to get more drives on the road, however it comes at the expense of the customer. Both of the cars that picked me up were clean, and all the drivers were friendly. Overall UberX provides low cost transportation via their app along with a fare estimate. I will say that the fare can slightly vary due to path taken and time in traffic, however my experience was that the estimate provided by Uber was pretty much spot on. One minor gripe, is that Uber still lacks the ability to tip the driver from the app itself requiring you carry cash should you decide to go above and tip your driver. read more

Uber in this town is terrible. I requested a ride to the airport and uber accepted with a 4 min 32 second wait. 6 minutes later my screen showed the driver's name and a 17 minute wait! I immediately called the driver to make sure he was indeed 17 minutes out and when he confirmed this, I told him to cancel as I would be late for my flight. I'm currently an Uber driver. I'm fed up. I was doing Uber for a about a month and a half. After that time, when I would go out to drive and look for UberX riders, I noticed that I would not get many rides. At first, I thought that it was just a slow day, but I looked more into why I wasn't getting rides for multiple days. I noticed that in my driving preferences, I was only eligible for deliveries and not UberX. So through research, I figured out that it's because I didn't have the proper vehicle inspection form. That's understandable. I know it's for safety. What I'm really mad about is the fact that Uber never sent me a message saying that I had to get it done in order to get UberX rides. So for a whole week, I would drive around multiple hours, wasting gas and time, for no reason. When I brought it up to "Uber Customer Service" (Which is not really service when they just follow a stupid script of what to say) they don't help with anything at all. They sent me to the greenlight hub to do the inspection. So I woke up early to be able to do it, and the place there didn't have a rack in order to properly do the inspection. So now, not only did I waste gas and stuff, now I will have to pay for a vehicle inspection, which will probably cost $20-$30 more. Every time, I try to contact them, they keep telling me that I need to do the inspection. Which I've been trying to do for about a week now, but every place I go to now, says they are busy and/or don't have the proper tools. Uber really needs to do something about this. This is the second time using this service, and so far my experiences were good. First time, we used it for a friend's BDay celebration out on the town. Then I used it for myself to and from the the Jtown Beer Fest. I like the way you can see what your charge will be before you actually book an Uber. Charges for me, seem to range so far between $15-$20 for a 15-30min ride in a small car. The larger SUVs run a lil more and also depending on distance. After your ride you can rate your driver and add a tip privately, using the Uber app. You can also view the driver's ratings before and after pickup on the app. If you haven't downloaded the app yet, I recommend you do. It might help you out on last minute changes when out and about. read more

I waited for about six, seven minutes for my rider to come out because he had requested a ride. The app shows your name if your wondering. Tried to call him several times and text him a message as well. Still no rider. So I left, the next couple days I was was disconnected from Uber. We were at a concert this past weekend & took an uber to and from. Every was great, got the uber quickly in the beginning, nice & friendly. Then we ordered an Uber on the way back and had to pay $135 dollars for a 10 mile ride! Now I get because we were leaving a concert, more drivers would be in demand and the price would go up a bit, but $135!!!!! That's ridiculous. Not to mention of that price is that high because of such a "high demand" then you would expect to wait for your driver to pick you up. NOPE, he was just sitting there, waiting for his phone to buzz for a customer. We had to pay it because what other option did we have, and they took advantage of that!!
