American cellphones won't work in Europe for calls. But you can still get Uber. In Switzerland users of free Internet must register usually by entering an access code sent by text. On my phone text message requires Internet connection. Catch 22 probably backed by taxi industry. Went to the information booth at the airport to scan my boarding pass to get the access code. Connecting to Uber on the Internet on my phone. Had to find level 2 outside to find Uber, as no signage for ride sharing. 34 Swiss francs to travel 8 miles from airport to our hotel on old town Zurich. Taxi would have cost 70 Swiss francs, exact change only and cash only,no credit cards accepted. Gave driver a 20 Swiss franc tip. He reacted like he had won the lottery. Absolutely estatic! Later learned that you don't need to tip taxis nor ride sharing in Switzerland. read more

Awful experience. Asked for a quote and his instant reply was that he is not interest in reviewing…read morecompetitor quotes "he is not a bazar...thanks anyways".
