This is a nice, modern hotel. It's right across the street from the Thalwil train station, and if you walk down the small street behind the hotel, you get to the boat station to take a trip on Lake Zurich.
The rooms are clean. There's a mini fridge with snacks and beverages. The electricity is a bit getting used to as you have to put your keycard in the slot by the door to turn on everything. I haven't figured out how to turn off all the lights while keeping the TV on. Also, you can draw down these metal blinds that sit behind the far window by the patio (if you're on the ground floor (-1)). The buttons are below the key card slot. The rooms are color coded so it's easy to remember where you room is.
There's hot breakfast every morning: eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, yogurts, breads, croissants, etc. Eat in or on the balcony - there's a great view of the lake.
If you cross the bridge over the train tracks up the hill, you arrive at "main street" Thalwil. There are some small boutique stores and restaurants. If you continue up the hill one more block, there is Migro, which is the large supermarket. If you get a chance, go take a look. It's so pristine! Just a reminder, they and most stores close on Sunday. read more
