One or two days after the entry I was once more there, the elevator was repaired, I have to say all…read moreelevators at that station and they were super clean compared to the status of the entry!!! That was a fantastic service! So why isn't it always like that? Passengers travel every day, pay every day and are legally entitled to a safe trip, not to mentioned human rights!!!! One more day later I came to the station of Moedling, which is one of the next ones, the elevators are also very often out of service without any sign. Cleaning and OEBB people walking around doing nothing against it. Well, what shall I say, there were again some old people with a stick, a mother with a baby and me with my suitcase and a bad leg standing in front of the elevator not working, no sign, not moving at all, we grabbed our staff and walked down the staris with the help of other passengers. Down, at the foot of the elevator there was the elevator with open doors, again no sign... Next step would be that the elevator drops with people in it!!! Or peple are trapped like I was, but at least there are always some people around, well at 11pm not so many ... Hey guys, do your job, act, CEOs you are dealing with people, your customers!!!!

While I do not have to take the U-Bahn to get to school, since this station is closest to my flat, if I need to get almost anywhere else not in immediate walking distance, this is the station I go to. Like I said earlier, the station is very simple as is the architecture, but I like that there are those windows to let some daylight into the station. There are two entrances, on on the far side of the exhibition center, and another near the Prater amusement park garage. Right across the cross walk from Motel One. Platform is the kind where trains arrive on both sides, so not one where you can accidentally end up on the wrong side, and take a train in the wrong direction. Elevators on both sides, but from what I have seen, the elevator on the Prater side has a tendency to get stuck. One time the thing broke while I was walking down the stairs next to it. The good news, however, is that in both cases, when I returned in a few hours, there was already a technician working on it. Escalator only on the Messe side. There is a station supervisors office in the station, but in the times I have been to that side of the station, the office was closed. Station is clean! it is not shiny, and I would not eat off the ground, but relative to some other train stations I have seen around the world, this one is pretty neat.

Pros: The hotel makes a strong first impression. The lobby,…read morehallways, and rooms are modern, clean, and well maintained, and the property has a polished, upscale look. The gym area includes a sauna and relaxation room (Does have old equipment and limited space). The lounge is spacious and comfortable, with a good selection of beer, liquor, and Coca-Cola products. It is in a great location to many metro lines. Cons: The bed was unacceptable. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, and the mattress was so hard it felt like sleeping on concrete. This was, without question, the worst bed we have ever experienced at a Hilton property. The hotel may claim it meets Hilton International standards, but if this mattress qualifies, those standards are extremely low. Despite being two Diamond members celebrating an anniversary and a birthday, there was zero recognition of our loyalty. No card, no note, no acknowledgment of any kind (They were made aware multiple times). This lack of basic personalization was disappointing. Breakfast was mediocre and nowhere near the quality offered at other Hilton properties. There was no made-to-order option, and if one existed, it was never mentioned. The lounge food was very poor and not something we would eat again. Communication was also lacking. The hotel only asked how our stay was at checkout, as we were walking out the door, rather than during the stay when issues could have been addressed. While mechanical issues in the room were eventually fixed, they should not have occurred in the first place. Overall: This hotel looks elegant, but the experience does not match the appearance. The service, comfort, and attention to loyal guests fall well short of expectations. A good-looking property means nothing when the bed is rock-hard and the guest experience is an afterthought. We left extremely disappointed.

Even without decorations, the Art Deco style is so sleek and sexy...right up my architectural alley. Front desk staff was outstanding. Very service oriented. My room was really comfortable and had a great desk for working, extremely comfortable bed and an outstanding shower. There was a coffee maker but I was staying on the exec floor so I went down to the executive lounge for coffee in the morning. The lounge itself was nice with lots of options for drinks and a decent variety of carbs and other foods in the morning. The gym was a little small but very clean. The location was pretty good, close to the Metro/U-Bahn. The Schottentor stop on the U2 line is right outside the hotel. There are lots of trams and buses nearby too. It was very easy to get to the airport from here taking the U-bahn a couple of stops to a train station with a direct connection to the airport. If you don't have giant bags, it's a very easy trip and much cheaper than a cab. Think 8 Euro vs 65 Euro. The on-site restaurant has good cocktails. Service is another matter but I'll cover that in a separate review. I'm a big Hilton Honors guy and this is one of my favorite Hiltons.
