When we got to the home I'm moving to they were very patient with me when placing the furniture! So they put everything where I wanted it! I so appreciated that because I did change my mind once or twice! A big thank you for being kind, professional and taking such great care of all the furniture! I thought the cost was excellent as well!

First let me start by saying the movers themselves were great. Dealing with the people in the…read moreoffice was another problem. I started calling at the beginning of the month because I knew it would be a long conversation with lots of questions and of course they maybe busy. I talked to the first lady told her the day and time which was either Friday or Saturday at noon too early to know the exact date yet but I wanted info. Was told either was fine. I called back about a week later with exact date and info. Took over a week to get back to me. Only to say they don't work on Saturday. This time it was a different lady who seemed to know more than the first. So I changed it to Friday. I had to set a date because I would only be in town for a few days. The set day was approaching quickly and I may not get to talk to someone again at the current rate of contact. But it threw everything off my rental vehicle, the time I got it, the drive from Houston. It was all a mess at this point. To make matters worse. I originally wanted noon but with the new date and new person I was put down for 9am. I'm driving from Houston after a flight from Oregon so that wasn't gonna happen. I Called to tell them it needed to be noon but no one got back to me for days until I sent an email finally got a response, the day before the move, of "Sorry we start at 9am". Talked to a different lady in the office on the day of the move she said the same thing. It amazes me that the day of the move they are answering the phones! Usually it's just a person who has no answers and says we will call you back. We were the only people being moved that day but apparently they don't start later and it would cost extra now because of overtime! So my advice to anyone reading this is to look at the place you are moving to and see if you are in their moving zone. Chances are you will be so contact them. My cost ended up being 700 dollars or so more than we had expected. I can't say how stressful and annoying deal with this company was. It just can't be put into words. Best of luck.

My experience with RSM Moving & Labor was far from perfect, but not terrible. They did fulfil their…read morepromise, but they raised the price, on something that wasn't mentioned before the move. I was going to move myself. I had help lined up where I was moving to, but needed loading help. I found this company on movinglabor.com. They had only been hired 2 times, but I gave them a call. I actually had to reserve them before movinglabor.com gave me the contact number. The fact of driving a 20ft UHaul with my truck behind it on a trailer was daunting to me. Especially since about 15 miles of the interstate was under construction, and had concrete barriers on both sides, about 2 feet from the lines on the normal interstate. I mentioned that to Robert when I was talking to him and he said that they would drive the UHaul to my location and unload it for me for additional charges. We discussed the charges and I agreed to them. He threw in extra charges that we hadn't discussed. It was about $130 more, so not really a big deal. When I went to get the UHaul, they of course wanted to know any additional drivers. Robert used his wife and she was added to the contract. One of the movers went with us along with Robert and his wife to pick it up. It was supposed to be a local pick up in Lake Charles, but they changed it at the last minute to Opelousas, LA. That was about an 80 mile drive, one way. Part of the extra charge was $30 to go pick up the truck. The other $100 was for additional fuel after I paid to have it filled up on the way back to Lake Charles. It was $50 even and he said that it only was at half full. I don't know if he actually filled it up or not, but what could I say? I know that the trucks don't get the best gas mileage, but it was a 264 mile trip. They left the truck for me to return and towed a vehicle on the trailer that I had reserved for them to get back to Lake Charles. The time that they would arrive kept getting pushed back. Robert never called me to advise me of this. I can say though, that he always answered his phone. I never called him that he didn't answer and update me on the progress. The point being, he should have called me. I shouldn't have had to call him. His wife didn't hesitate to call me the next day about every hour starting about 8:00am, to tell me to go online and pay the rest of the bill. I guess that they wanted me to pay the rest of the bill before I returned the UHaul. When I returned the UHaul, the office was closed. I had to put the keys and paperwork in a drop box. The next morning, I had a charge on my credit card for $101.39 for extra mileage on the truck. I don't know what they could have done with the truck. Robert asked me if I had bought a lock for the door. I hadn't. He suggested that I go get one and keep the keys myself. That act made me feel good about him and gave me confidence that I had made a good decision in hiring his company. Since I had the keys to the door of the truck, I can't imagine how it got the extra mileage on it. He did say when I called him that he was helping someone that morning (like he was helping me), so the only thing that I can imagine is that he rented a UHaul trailer and used the truck to pull it. When they did arrive, the lock was still on the door. Everything arrived safely with the exception of my Duncan Fife dining room table. It was busted to pieces, literally. I called Robert and told him about it. He stated to me that he had told me that it wouldn't hold much weight. I don't recall that, but even if he did, I would think that he wouldn't have put that much weight on it. Also, his wife wasn't driving when they arrived; she wasn't even in the truck. The other person that went with us that wouldn't give his ID as a driver was. Overall, they did what they said, but it was questionable at different times. They also never refunded the extra money that I was charged on the UHaul for mileage. Robert has a chance to be a great company. He just needs to handle things better.

Once he got there and assesed the situation he went back and got a dolly and a second person to help. They went above and beyond to help us and the rate was reasonable compared to what we were quoted from the other company. Coming from out of town to get my mom's stuff moved they were a great help. Would definitely recommend them.
