We were told not to pack anything because the movers would just have to unpack it, inventory, and repack it. The experience was bad from the beginning. Armstrong sent two people to pack an entire house. The lady started yelling at me from the beginning about how I should have had this stuff packed and this was the "worst house she had been to yet." Yes! she was yelling at me in my own home. They ran out of packing material and actually took my boxes (without asking) that I had set aside. The lady was packing stuff on top of my stove and hit the gas with her belly. She most have turned and lit the stove. She burned everything that was on top. I smelled smoke and came down. She had the fire out by then and no one got hurt, but she started a fire in my house!!!!!!! I could go on with countless other examples of distraction and carelessness by the packing crew. So, we were relocation from Jackson, MS to the East Coast. We were downsizing to a tiny apartment and the bulk of our possessions were to go to storage. I labeled with different color stickers. For example- green sticker meant apartment, red sticker meant storage, and blue sticker meant I would transport on my own. My seven year old niece even wrote "storage," "apartment," and "do not pack" on hundreds of stickers. I organized my cupboards, since I was told not to pack. So, the entire cupboard whet to one location like apartment. I even had one room that was all going to storage. That seems easy to keep track of to me. The packers called the parent company and told them I was unorganized and they could not be responsible if the stuff got to the right location. I realize now that they were just creating a paper trail to cover themselves on sloppy work. When we got to our apartment, our stuff was a mess. My daughter's crib was missing parts. Tape was put directly on our wooden furniture. I opened a box of kitchen stuff to see that my flour canister was put open in a box. I know this because I found the lid in another box. I can promise you that the lid was on the flour canister in the cupboard. I even remember taping it closed with blue painter's tape. My other canisters were ok and still taped shut. Stuff that was marked storage was at the apartment. It was just a mess. Honestly, I likely do not know the full extent of the damage done as I have not gone through the stuff that went to storage. My husband said the crew in Washington DC was amazing. They were helpful and worked hard to peal the tape off the furniture with out taking off the finish.

I had to move everything out of my rental house because the floors were being repaired. I hired…read morethis company to move everything out and into a storage unit that was about 5 miles from my house. They did show up on time, but were so careless in how they handled my belongings. One guy had my very expensive nightstand with a marble top on the dolly with my brand new microwave on top of the nightstand and both fell off the dolly onto the concrete, breaking the edge off my marble top and cracking it in another place. I didn't know the extent of the damage until I got it back in my house when I moved back in. The workers are very friendly, but talk so much and this company charges by the hour. I felt like maybe it was on purpose. I timed it once and one guy talked for 20 solid minutes, doing nothing. A week Iater it was time to move back in the house, and I hired the same company. I rented a Uhaul truck for 5 hours, which I had at the storage unit by 10a.m. I hired this company for 3 guys at 3 hours, (beginning at 10 a.m.) which was more than enough time to get everything out of my unit and back to my house five miles away. One guy showed up at 10a.m. and tried to move things by himself while waiting on his no-show helpers. He broke the leg off my washing machine. Around noon 3 other guys showed up to help. (2 hours late) One of the guys just talked the entire time. I told them I had to have the UHaul back by 2 and they weren't phased. I finally just started unloading things myself. I was an hour late getting my Uhaul back because of them. I later texted the owner, Jay, who informed me that I should be happy because instead of 3 employees, he sent 4 (even though they were 2 hours late and having the 4th guy did not speed things up at all because of all the talking). He didn't care that my Uhaul was late and I had to pay extra. Regarding the washing machine leg that was broken, he told me that I could order it on Amazon and he'd have someone come fix it. Um no. I do not want anyone affiliated with your company back in my house. I have all messages that I am willing to share so that others can see his response. Also, when I asked if I was going to get some money taken off my bill for my trouble and broken items, he said no and that I should be lucky he didn't charge me the "actual" weekend rate. So BEWARE! There is an additional weekend rate that you will NOT be told about up front. I suggest paying with a CashApp card so that he can't just tack on money to your card like he did mine. He will not care that he cost you extra money in any way.

They will take your money up front, lie about delivery, lie about not contracting out, and then destroy all your belongings. I have been in the Marines then Army Engineers for over 20 years total, so I have moved multiple times, used several movers, and I will say without a doubt that this company is by far the worst I have ever experienced. I am not one to write reviews, but I am warning everyone, DO NOT use these crooks. Ed Simmons initially told me and my wife that they never contracted out, but that is exactly what they did, to the lowest bidder. He then said our household goods would be delivered on July 22nd. We had everything in place to move in on the 22nd, then at the last-minute Ed Simmons said we would not receive delivery until the 26th. Then that changed to late evening on July 27th when we finally received our household goods. When they opened the door to truck, I observed how our furniture was crammed on the truck and knew our stuff would be damaged. Sure enough, while they rushed to unload, we found multiple, multiple items and furniture destroyed. I am beyond frustrated because I am a 20-year veteran who has worked hard for everything, just for these insensitive criminals to take your money then destroy your belongings. Then they get an arrogant, rude attitude when discussing the claims process. I purchased the full coverage, zero deductible insurance, then they still give me the complete runaround when trying to get some money back for all my damaged furniture. I am still trying to get some type of reimbursement to this date. I am warning you once more, stay away from Ed Simmons, ALLIED Van Lines, Lanigan Worldwide Moving and Warehousing Inc.
