Besides that, I would not recommend them. They started before I got home, diagnosed the problem incorrectly, "fixed the non issue", and realized their error only after I got home and assured them that wasn't the issue. Which after speaking to me they agreed with. They reset it, which took 2 minutes and required pushing a total of three buttons twice. For that I was charged $120. Then, when the problem reoccurred within two weeks I called the manufacturer and was told it was the travel module and I could replace it myself easily and the part was $18.12, or I could get one on Amazon for $25 ( I looked and that was Amazon's price). I spoke with Tim to see what they would charge since it seemed like an easy fix and they hadn't fixed it for the $120 I had already paid. I was told they would do it for $250! When I told him the part was $18, he sounded shocked I knew that and told me he couldn't get it for that. Apparently this company isn't able to source parts at market value.....? If I could get the part he would charge me $100 to put it in?? So, if the labor is $100 and the part is $18-$25.....where is the remaining $132-$125 coming from? This doesn't even make any sense. He also asked me what they charged me the first time. The employee that was out said that was their base rate, but speaking to Tim I got the impression that they don't have one. I ordered the part for $18 and it took me under 10 minutes to replace the travel module. It fixed the issue and I have zero experience with anything mechanical. These guys were going to vastly overcharge me at $100, the $250 is just them swindling someone they thought had no idea what it would actually cost to replace that part. These guys are dishonest and untrustworthy. I would recommend you find an honest company and run the other way when it comes to this one.

So last week when the garage clicker fell off my key chain (damn cheap plastic!) I knew trouble was ahead. And indeed, it was. How many times have I left the clicker upstairs and not remembered it until I was standing before the garage, a handy FUCK on my lips? Too many to count, my friend, too many to count. The answer? Not a new clicker. Oh no. Much better. THE KEYPAD. I always wondered how that would be useful. Here is how it works. You drive up like a badass. Hit the opener that stays in your car. You get out, grab your shit, and manually close the garage with the button on the wall. Then, next day, all badass and shit, you walk up and type in the code, and your garage opens. Like magic. You get in, pull out, and use the clicker again. There, don't you feel that you learned something today? Me too. Now why did I go all the way to New Hope for this service? Our condo association used these guys to get all new doors installed last year. That and I dropped the wife off at work in Golden Valley and a sneeze later you are in new hope at the really industrial offices of Custom Door Sales, Inc. They were very friendly on the phone, and explained that by picking up and installing myself, I was saving myself about $100 bucks. It will be easy she tells me. Then she showed me on a little demo garage door. And believe you me, it is so easy, even my grandmother could do it, and she is dead. Now tell me, could I have made this review any longer? Of course I could.

Rise and Shine took care of my issue and I started to discuss my old, very loud, chain driven garage door opener. The repair person was Dan Deluka, who after the service call, took the time to update me on the advancement of garage door openers in the last 20 years (the age of my opener) and what I would gain by replacing my old, noisy opener. I want to stress that I was one who asked to be educated; it was not a case of Dan trying to sell me an opener after the service call for the door. Dan did a great job of explaining the options and the improvements made since my old opener was installed. In the end, I decided upon a model. Dan was able to install it in a very short amount of time and I was completely satisfied with both the product and the installation. I have found that, although Rise and Shine isn't the least expensive option, it's a company that stands behind their products and services. This means a lot and it's the type of integrity and customer service that is very rare these days. I confidently recommend this company and the management that runs the company.
