The Public Storage of Diminishing Returns…read more Having rented here for a few years I'd like to set the record straight on a few things and why I would now like to recommend any other storage facility other than Public Storage and this location. I used to pay about $200 for 150sq/ft locker and that was okay. I used to have 24 hour access. The price goes up after several month and they introduce rodent traps and now limit access to midnight. The management changes and the price goes up again and now it's higher per sq/ft than my office space. At this time I discover the sides of the door frames are cheaply made and razor sharp. I accidentally cut my thumb deeply on the door frame. There are no apologies from Public Storage for the razor sharp sheet metal due to cheap construction and there is nothing done to correct the construction (so please be aware if you cut yourself as they know about it and have chosen not to make it safe). Now access is limited to 10pm. The place may look secure and I'm sure it looks impressive on a first tour but be aware that beyond the standard schoolyard fence the rear doors are left unlocked 24/7. Anyone can access the inside. Other facilities on the South Shore have gate codes and then more door codes to make multiple layers of security. Other places also have more than 4 cameras, and this is what's needed to have a truly secure facility. Public Storage should have a look at what the competition is doing. Rent there long enough and you may see large trash in the left in the hallways for several days at a time. The rodent traps are also multiplying. The office hours are the same as retail hours making hard to attend the office if you are the type to work a lot. My last time there the large garage door was broken and the next one is in need of repairs. My last gripe was that the management requested I move my unit as work is constantly having to be done on the old building. Fair enough but I had to ask for some compensation for the amount of effort and time and it would take and they were reluctant to offer 1/2 a months credit (in this case only about $127) to move a thousand cubic feet of boxes and stuff. They said this was 'policy'. Please know that the same policy will charge you $150 to remove a single items from a locker, as per another renter's feedback commented on another review forum. The punchline to this? The work being done was for a water pipe. Before moving my boxes and their contents were water damaged. Public Storage says they are not responsible. My 150sq/ft has now shrunk to about 145 sq/ft. I measured it, twice. So they have a convenient location if you are in Saint-Lambert or Greenfield Park but there are much more secure, cleaner, and better run storage facilities in the South Shore. Do your homework when choosing a place.

It is located very close to papineau metro station, which makes it very accessible. Service was fine and even when there was a bit of a problem with the initial KM and starting fuel level it was corrected and done perfectly. The truck itself had cobwebs all over it, it seems like it had not been used in awhile, but the inside was clean and no problems. As my luck would happen, the battery of the van died just after loading all my stuff, but i think that was more of the fault of leaving the hazards on for an hour and a half. All in all, if I do need to move something large I would reuse this location.

I downsized a locker and they changed me the full amount for the old one and the new one. He said he would refund the first one but never did until I showed up at the office. When I called they just hung up the phone. When I closed the account for good, I had put some stuff in the garbage there along side everyone else. the next day I received a call stating I had to remove it or I would be charged 500$ so in the morning I rented a truck and picked up my stuff and brought it to the dump. I took photos of the trash, there are no signs saying you cant put anything there... and there was a lot of other peoples junk every time I've gone there. This call to inform me of the fine was the only news I had of the fines, I took photos of all the signs NONE show you will be charged a fine. The call was made in the afternoon and by next morning all my stuff was on a truck and at the dump... this is an unfair charge considering the time I was given to remove it, and the lack information anywhere about the fines. ONLY sign they had at the dumpster was you cant put smelly odorous garbage... which means you can leave your furniture if its not toxic smelling waste!

This is a good storage place with a good security system…read more The good: Clean place. Good security. Store is wide and clean. Waiting area close to store. Boxes and moving stuff can be purchased. Storage area very lighted. Three different size of units. Decent prices. The bad: There is a bump at the entrance door to storage rooms that makes it hard to maneuver with a rolling trolley. This has to be fixed. Storage doors can come out if lifted up too rapidly. Only one entrance door can make the surroundings to that door very crowded on weekends. In the end, this is a good place to get storage.

We know it's last minute but Joey the owner was able to solve our problem. Such a relief! What a fantastic guy! We were totally distraught because we had rented somewhere else using their on-line app and got confirmation for both the truck and the payment. When we got there, we continued with the app to add driver's info etc (as the app indicated) but once there were told it doesn't work that way. During that time someone else was renting our truck. They no longer had a truck for us and all my people were waiting to start the move. What were we going to do?! The Delvan owner, Joey, said he would do all he could to get us a truck which he did.
