This place is right on the Marktplatz and on Fridays and Saturdays is packed with Turkish-stemming families chowing down on lamb and chicken. This joint also has amazingly fast service, but unfortunately the food is not quite so good as Istanbul right across the street or a much smaller, much older joint right down the street. Still a great place to sit and people watch. If you can snap a seat by the window, you get to watch both the people on the Market, which has by the way a fantastic Saturday morning choice on pretty much anything you would want to eat or drink. If you sit further in the cavernous space, you can marvel at the wood-burning oven with massive glass walls where you can watch your kebab getting grilled up just right. Awesome! Don't forget to try the Ayran, the national drink, and if you are feeling adventurous, check out the grilled lamb liver on a skewer, intense flavors there. Compared to other restaurants of comparable quality either in Germany or in the USA, the prices are simply a steal. read more
