I met a few friends here for some drinks and ended up ordering some appetizers to snack on. My cocktail was very good but really just tasted like juice. I didn't even feel a buzz after 2 and they weren't cheap compared to Turkey standards. Our appetizers were just okay. The watermelon with feta was good and we also ordered the truffle fries and popcorn shrimp. Welcome to Istanbul's "Too cool for school"- place. Moustache carriers can be sure to find a double. BAM! I was having lunch with my colleague here and wasn't happy with the service nor the food. The waitress was more into checking her right look than checking how we were doing. I had to ask for bread next to my mixed salad and I didn't even finish chewing when she took my plate. No question, if I am finished or a look into my eyes to see if I am okay. Well this is a minimum of service that I expect in a brand new hipsteria-place like that. Particular if you think about the 17 Lires you gotta pay for a small salad with goat cheese, figs, dried apricots, walnuts and tomato. Fair enough the interieur of the place is nice, a trendy design that sticks in your mind. Hip bar with a very interesting wall constructions. Surprise surprise! There are hidden people waiting for you underneath the wallpapers. The second floor has more places to sit and a big table if you are a bigger group. Also nice is the small terrace that gets the sunny hours around noon. This is a Plus! I think this bar has potential, but therefore the service would have to rethink their job. So listen up. I was happily surprised when I stumbled upon this cute eatery. They have the restaurant decorated very nicely, giving it a unique touch. My meal consisted of the grain salad that included greens, figs, goat cheese and a couple other items. I loved the salad, I thought it tasted great and was unlike any other generic salad. At 17 TL I thought it was fairly priced for the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The beer I did find overpriced however, costing me 12 TL for a small size glass. Right. OK. So, the hubby and I were on our way to taste the best baklava in Istanbul (Karakoy Gulluoglu) and when we got there, it was closed! So what is a husband and wife team to do when the best baklava shop in Istanbul is closed? They head to the nearest bar, Tukkan. Being American, we do like to saddle up at the bar when drinking. Doing so puts the bartenders within arms reach and, in general, we get much better service. As an added bonus, bartenders sometimes have great recommendations of where to eat and drink. There's really no downside to sitting on a barstool at the bar. Anyway, we entered this open-air restaurant. Many people were eating. Others like us were just drinking. I ordered a bloody mary and it was good but a bit too spicy. Thereafter, I moved on to a mojito. Both were good. The husband ordered a margarita and caipirinha. He said that the caipirinha was good but would not order another margarita. I don't even know why he still attempts margaritas on this side of the pond because they always fail to meet his expectations. So, yeah, a great place to have a couple of mid-day cocktails, and at a reasonable price for as trendy as this place seems to be. read more

Good pieces of art on the walls. I had a lemonade with mint which taste good. It was a little bit overrated.
