Finding Tyra Bleek was a gift from the very beginning. Her display at an otherwise boring wedding expo was phenomenal, and looking further into her work showed an even more incredible portfolio. Not only are the photos we have from our engagement shoot and wedding some of the most amazing photos we never could have imagined, but Tyra made the entire process stress free and lots of fun. She blended our ideas with her own to create a set of photos that we will treasure for as long as we live. So many wedding albums end up on bookshelves somewhere, but Tyra's photos are so artistic that they can be displayed in so many other ways. Her photojournalistic style captured so many little details from our day that I never would have thought to document, but am so glad we have to add to our album. Tyra makes a point to get to know you as a couple in a much less threatening way than some other vendors seem to attempt. She listened to our ideas and even sent some tips and potential inspiration photos to us ahead of time to get a better idea of what we were thinking. She really took advantage of our time together for our engagement photos to get to know what we liked, what we were comfortable with and what we were hoping for with regards to finished products. On the day of our wedding, she made the photography process completely seamless with the rest of the day - blending in to the background of the day rather than pulling us away from the moment to stage pictures. The pictures she plans for more formal shots are natural and fun, and our entire (large!) wedding party lasted through, and enjoyed the group shots - something that you can definitely see in the final products. And more that than, she's someone you actually want to have at your wedding - she's fun, and sweet, and her easy going presence captured so much emotion from our guests. When planning our wedding, finding a photographer was the most challenging vendor search we conducted; both my husband and I are artists and are usually the "photographers" at gatherings so the idea that we wouldn't be the ones controlling the camera was a hard one to accept from a stylistic point of view. My Fiance and I had Tyra shoot our engagement photos at Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain. She was amazing! I'm not the sort that enjoys walking in a park and having his photo taken, but I was totally comfortable with Tyra. She has a good sense of humor and is easy to get along with. I thought that was important because it made us feel more relaxed which definitely came through in the engagement photos. The photos were incredible! It was very difficult to choose which one to use for our "save the dates" because we liked so many of them. Tyra was also very quick with the editing process and getting the photo album over to us. Tyra is unique and amazing!! She is so fun to work with, and open for anything. My fiance and I had our engagement photos done at Fenway Park, and only had one hour to capture everything we wanted. Tyra was such a good sport by running around Fenway, dealing with our 2 year old who was not enjoying the heat, and making sure we got all the shots we wanted. The pictures Tyra took were beyond amazing. Months later, we are still getting compliments from friends and family saying how gorgeous our pictures came out. I contacted a few photographers after my engagement, and after sitting down with Tyra I knew she was the one for me! I loved her style, which I would sum up as vintage/antique-y/ classy/ gorgeous! She worked so well with our HUGE wedding party. She was so understanding, and even stayed later than expected to capture the bouquet toss. When I got the actual DVD of our wedding photos, I was so impressed and just loved every single one (and there were A LOT!). Tyra was absolutely fantastic to work with. She really made the whole process so incredibly easy - was always very responsive and helpful, and never made me feel like I was bugging her, which I'm sure I did once or twice! She is so full of energy, on the day of the wedding she was absolutely everywhere but never ever intrusive. Her photos speak for themselves - we wanted a photographer with a great eye but we also wanted to stay away from something too uptight or traditional.
