He sounded so disappointed I wasn't into buying, I mention the 8GB GTX 3070 I have and some high latency DDR4. He just sticks to the ram and says he doesn't buy it, then I reiterated the 3070-- you could tell he perked up. "Oh! You have a 3070?!" I tell him, "Yes, that is what I said." I ask his going rate, he just wants me to throw out a number-- mind you, I had no idea this is the owner (apparently). I ask again, his rate-- he wants to tell me that before he can offer he has to run tests and the tests could in fact take days. Days?! Now, I've ran a shop like this before. I have a background in CIS. I know the tests necessary, a benchmark, a processing overview to check for spikes-- simple things. Never takes, DAYS. I ask, "When was the last time you bought a 3070?" He replied, "a few days ago." I ask him how much he gave, he told me, "100 bucks." I admittedly scoff, I wanted more like 225, I ask him to meet me in the middle at 150. He wants to tell me more about his tests. I inquire further on these, "tests." He is now coping a attitude, wants to let me know he is the owner and at this point he isn't interested and he wouldn't be, "dropping the things he needs to do to run a business." Well, I'll tell ya what, I wouldn't want to shop at a place like this and though I wouldn't be still willing to sell to them-- nah, nah.. Not with that attitude and such a pretentious way to talk to potential customers. Shoppers be warned, and I'd recommend if you go to buy-- ask to test products for a couple of days before paying.

They cost half the price of the other vendor quotes we received! He was incredibly easy to work with, accommodated the additional collection of metal we had acquired and facilitated his team easily for the most efficient removal of 15+ years of old furniture we had built up. I have to say, junk removal prices are absolutely insane these days. For a trip to the junkyard (or…read morein some cases, a restoration business), charging people an arm and a leg is anti-consumer. Junk King is like most other options, unfortunately. The way they charge is not to benefit the customer, but their own circumstance. This means they will charge based on how much space your items take up in their truck. Even though, they get charged to drop it off at the dump the same rate we do (maybe even less because they make so many trips?). Why can't it just be a flat fee for items? For a love seat and a three seat couch, we were charged $218. The next lower tier would have been $168. Even $168 is tough when usually, you can get your local neighbor on Nextdoor to do it between $100-20. But I digress. Judging by their space in their truck, you could probably fit another two or three of what I had them take. On a positive note, they were able to come the same day, but their tactic of coming out to give you a quote after they look at it, more than likely, will get you to pay whatever they want because you just want the stuff gone. That's their tactic, I guess, although, I don't agree with it. I also don't like the idea of having my debit card entered manually into a phone. There should be a more secure way to pay. Have some cash ready if you don't want to pay with cards. If you have time, and aren't in immediate need of a removal, call a few other businesses around town before you call Junk King. You'll save some money.

Trusting Matt, I made plans for 6pm, and no longer had any time for someone to come over.
