Jeremy is an excellent teacher and mentor! I highly recommend Jeremy. I have taken lessons for…read morethe past eight months which is resulting in a significantly improved understanding of music composition, music theory, and guidance for a practical application of composing. Why I recommend Jeremy: - Lessons are highly organized and prepared ahead of time. - He tailors the lessons to my goals - for me that means customized lesson plans with emphasis on theory and compositional techniques. - He provides a holistic approach to the composition process - during the lesson he leads by example demonstrating the lesson material. He then assigns relevant exercises that are aligned to the specific concept learned during the lesson. - Applied composition - Jeremy makes arrangements for professional players to play student works. I find this very motivational. Composition students get direct feedback from the musician. Also, using his integrated recording studio, he provides a recording of the student's compositions with excellent feedback. - Very Accessible - after the lessons are assigned, if there are questions, he is available to answer questions. - Jeremy is the utmost professional. (Integrity, considerate, timely, holds himself and student accountable). - He follows a well-structured approach to theory and composition. As a structured approach to learning theory, he uses the Berklee College of Music theory materials as a guide. - He has extensive performance and compositional experience. Jeremy draws on this experience to bring a practical approach to composing. - He has vast music academic experience including a MA in Music Composition, as well as a BA from Berklee College of Music. - Excellent environment to take lessons. Jeremy has a professional music studio including a live room where lessons are conducted with grand piano, a control room for recording, and facilities for students (waiting room, restrooms, parking). - He draws from his extensive professional composing and performance experience to bring a practical approach to composition. Highly recommend Jeremy!

I played piano as a child...and 35 years later I decided I wanted to play once again. I wasn't sure…read morewhat to expect from a piano teacher, but when I found Jeremy's Craigslist ad, I was immediately impressed with his resume and professional online presence. I figured someone with that much talent *must* be out of my price range. I was pleasantly surprised, after our initial email exchange, that not only was he affordable, but he was also friendly, and polite. After our initial consult, I felt at ease with him, and knew that with his help, I could once again enjoy playing the piano! Ive been working with Jeremy for a little over a month now, and I totally dig his teaching style. He encouraged me to find sheet music for songs I love and am inspired by. I felt daunted by the first song I picked ("China" by Tori Amos)...but after only one lesson, not only was I able to play a little of it right away, I felt hopeful that I *could* actually learn it. He has a unique way of customizing his lessons and exercises towards my abilities and interests in a way that keeps me motivated to practice throughout the week. A little over a month later, I am able to play the song in its entirety, in a basic version, to fit my skill level. In this short amount of time I have also gained a better knowledge of reading sheet music and understanding Key signatures, tempo, and chords. In summation, I would give Jeremy 10stars if I could...He is a pleasure to work with, has been very generous with his time and attention, and I look forward to my lessons every week!

Matt is easy to work with, flexible and brings great ideas to the table. He's attentive to his artists' needs and is willing to step outside of the box to help you and your project sound perfect. We've all had our bad experiences with instrument repair, not many things can be so frustrating and demoralizing, which is why I've stuck with Mike and followed him through his many stops. He takes extra care to make sure I'm happy with the work, from explaining what I'll need upfront, to minor tweaks to suit my needs before the guitar leaves the shop. He even helped me figure out a few songs my cement fingers were having trouble with. I am fully confident in recommending Sound Service to you.

California's loss, our gain! I decided to give him a call after reading the stellar reviews. They do not exaggerate. My guitar needed a set up and had the dreaded fret buzz. Most other places are backed up and take at least 2 weeks before they can get to your instrument. He really knows his stuff, all the ins and outs, not just on guitars but also on recording music. I will definitely use him again. Don't hesitate to contact Mike. I definitely feel like we've found THE guy for our gear.
