The project manager said that Anthony had done good work in the past and was confident in his skill level. But it got to a point where I wouldn't allow his crew to return. The owner of the restoration company asked if I would give Anthony a second chance to come in and complete the tile work. The bathroom floor was straightforward and came out good. But the kitchen was a bit more complex and about 1/4 needs to be torn out. I actually had to explain edging and bullnose tile to him. The pictures are just a small representation of what they considered to be finished work...they had packed up and removed their equipment. I was speechless. There was wall paint all over my cabinets and molding, molding paint all over the ceiling and walls, and gobs of joint compound. The demo crew set up a plastic containment barrier. When it was removed, Anthony's crew painted over the adhesive residue left from the tape. A breakfast nook escaped damage except for a 6-8 inch stain on the ceiling. Instead of using stain blocker, the crew slapped joint compound on the stain and painted over it without sanding. In addition to being sloppy, they clearly do not have the skill to work in old homes. Additionally, they took down the motion sensor to the security system, lost half of the unit, and hung up what was remaining. No one recalls touching it - that's a $350 replacement and installation cost. They also covered my Corian sink in paint, lost the paint covered garbage disposal stopper, used my mop bucket and left it behind covered in crap, and let tons of construction debris pile up in a pantry sink that has 114 year old pipes. The restoration company had their demo guys come in to try and clean up the mess, but unfortunately the ceilings need major remediation and I have to hire someone else to come in to clean up the poor caulking and painting. Work time was already extended at least 1 week because of mistakes and sloppiness. I got the distinct impression that Anthony was juggling a lot. Judging from the reviews, he should drop construction from his business model and focus on the landscaping.

Sounds just fine however as November drew to a close and no one had shown up I reached out and was informed that they'd be out soon. Well Winter came and went and the pile of leaves and grass clippings they left in September was and is still in the same place. It's now mid May 2023 and I've not heard anything from them since October 2022. Oh yeah, I've already sent them an email about two weeks ago telling them to never mind. What a sad way of doing business. Who knows maybe they're out of business but the way they deal with customers is pitiful and they should be.

So, it was only natural that we call A & J Porfilio Landscape Contractors Inc. when we wanted to replace our front steps with pavers. This year we called A & J Porfilio Landscape Contractors Inc. for a quote to install 2 sets of steps and a walkway to the front of our house. Alfredo came out to take measurements and discussed the project. We received a detailed quote within a week, listing what he would be doing along with the material that would be used for the project. We had the opportunity to see first-hand how Alfredo & Noah took pride in their work. Seeing them spend the time needed measuring, marking and cutting so that every stone fit just right, making our walkway perfect. During the winter, they did remove the snow pretty well, but their prices were extremely high, and they charged for a lot of extra services that were not really needed. Then in the spring, they did a lot of "spring cleanup" work that I didn't ask for, and that wasn't needed, and of course they charged a lot of money for that work. The way their contract is written, they are just able to do whatever kind of work they want and charge whatever huge price they want for it , without even asking, and then the customer has to pay. It seems like a form of dishonesty, really. I guess it's legal because it's in contract in a kind of a vague way, but it's deceptive. Even the mowing was very expensive and they kept putting in extra charges for things I didn't want. Also, communication with Axiom is difficult, almost impossible. They are very unprofessional. I now have a different landscaping and snow removal company that I love. I had to pay an extra $400 to get out of my contract with Axiom, but it was worth it. My new company is 100% better, easy to communicate with, and does beautiful, work for less than 1/4 of what Axiom was charging.
