We bought a brand new Accord in September and 3 days later seen that the plastic on the heater knob was broke, immediately took it back and Jess the service manager said he would have to talk to Honda to see if it was covered by warranty, never heard back from him, called Honda Corporate, well finally 6 months later they called and said Jess said we did it. Spoke with Shania our sales girl, she said it's out of her hands. Husband went in again to talk to them and told them he is filling a former complaint with Honda, and the sales manager told him to leave and never come back. They are not transparent with their total costs with customers. They go over individual line items for recommended services and have a parts cost included to add a bit more confusion. I provided feedback that total cost should be outlined after the recommended services are accepted so the customer can have a clear picture of the cost (which would include labor) to prevent any misconception of cost - as a second chance to make sure everything was understood. I was met with resistance from their Operations Services Manager implying we didn't look in the right spot but why didn't they say - this is going to cost this based on what you're accepting - he didn't agree and said that wasn't part of their protocol. I took full responsibility for misunderstanding but said they can be more obvious and clear about total end cost when folks are accepting recommended repairs - this feedback was not accepted. So make sure you're asking total cost (looking at the far right side of the quote sheet) and ask for the complete total cost of all the repairs because they are NOT going to offer that to you unless asked. But they'll say afterward they did tell you that or were shown the information but you got to make sure you look at the right column. I won't be back and hopefully this prevents someone from getting surprised at the total cost when they're paying. read more

If I could give a negative star review I would. I took my Pilot there to have an oil change. I thought I had a free oil change as my first miles, but I missed the mileage by 179 miles. So I paid for it. When the technician took my car back to the service bay, he popped my front tire somehow. The vehicle had 12, 000 miles on it. They planned to replace the one tire. I was not comfortable with this as my car is AWD. I asked at the service counter if they would at least change the two front tires. I was told no as there was not enough wear on the tire to warrant this. They were un-sympathic, unapologetic, and the one woman at the service desk was just awful. She wouldn't make eye contact with me and had a demeanor of 'just go away'. What has happened to supporting the customer? They offered me nothing. If I wanted to replace the second tire I had to pay for it. I had a friend stop by to talk to them and he discovered that while the tire they were replacing was the same brand and size, it was made from a different composite. How could I trust that the tires would wear evenly? And down the road if there was a problem with the car how could I say that it was from replacing only one tire? I chose to pay for and replace the second tire. Along with the hassle of coming back once they had the tire(s) in stock, they offered nothing for the inconvenience it was for their mistake. It became a very expensive oil change that cost me $400. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and I was told no one was there. On the following Monday I called Jesse Wells and left a message asking him to call me back in regards to my service.. he never returned my call. I will never take my vehicle to Tyler again when I am back in the area.. I will drive to the next nearest dealer. read more

I hate leaving negative reviews but I feel like I have to warn others about the sales team that is incapable of telling the truth. I purchased a new 2026 Odyssey and during the process the vehicle I was looking at had an error code during one of the test drives. I was told by Bob Clarke who I was working with through the process that the issue was due to an advertising sticker on the vehicle that was covering a sensor which caused the code and that due to the new sensor they were removing that specific sticker from all of the cars on the lot in the near future. I thought it made sense, I trusted him, and the code was reset. When I came back to test drive the car Bob put me in the same model vehicle, same color, but an upgraded trim level to test drive instead of the vehicle that had the code in the first place. I didn't think anyone would be that obviously deceptive so I convinced myself it was an honest mistake. One month later none of the other cars in the lot have the sticker removed and the vehicle that I now own with less than 1000 miles throws the same error code. I was lied to that other cars are having the same issue due to the sensor being covered, they lied to my face. When I returned due to the light coming on the second time it was a Saturday and the service department was closed. Both Bob and the sales manager told me I would have to return when the service department was open. I was fine with that, I verbally confirmed with them that I could return at 9am that Monday and their exact words were: "We'll both be here to take care of you on Monday". Turns out they never scheduled an appointment for me with the service department and had no intentions of helping. When asked about it they blew me off and acted like it was not their fault. They've single-handedly helped me decide to switch to Subaru or Toyota. Why? Arbitrary recommended maintenance that doesn't align with manufacturer specs. The final straw was when I went to the dealership parts department for an OEM part. Honda had the part available but I didn't want to wait for it to be shipped so I hoped I could get it at the dealership. Honda had it for $42.01 and the dealer could also order it but would charge $89.99 plus tax (plus they charge 3% extra for using debit/credit cards). What a nightmare trying to purchase a pre-owned Honda Odyssey! We went to look at the vehicle but were informed that someone was purchasing it and we could not take a look. We get a call the next week that the sale fell through and that we could look at it. We went to take a look at it and we agreed to put a deposit on the vehicle but was then informed that the window had a chip in it from someone test driving it the week prior. They increased the price by $950. We were reluctant but agreed since we need a van. We waited over two weeks and after three defective windshields and a broken camera, we finally asked for our deposit back. We've had a bad experience with the 2019 Honda CRV with only 55000 miles, we experienced the same problem as outlined in the "Safety Recall 2023-25 CR-V ,2023-25 CR-V Hybrid, 2025 CR-V eFCEV Steering Gearbox Assembly Honda Service Bulletin 24-117" however the Largo Honda dealer recommended we replace the hole steering gear box assembly at a cost of $4940.25 on a car with only 55K miles.. Obviously it appears that Honda doesn't know how to build steering gear box assemblies. The replacement was done by Largo Honda, since we are not in St joe for the winter. Tyler Honda: Ethically and Morally Unsound Bottom Line Up Front: There is no trophy to be earned from being an unethical, immoral car dealer. Tyler Honda has that locked down TIGHT. On Thursday, Aug 24th my wife and I went to Tyler Honda in Stevensville, MI with the intent of trading our 2016 Accord Sport. I did my research on Kelly Blue Book before going. The good condition (mechanically sound with small cosmetic issues) for trade in was rougly $16-18,000. After receiving the initial low-ball offer, I explained this to them. Wanting to make the sale, a person I was told was the manager, came out with a JD Power printout stating he could only ethically sell our car for about $18,000, so there was no way they could give us that. Begrudgingly, we settled on $14,300. Their finance person wasn't at work that day, so I came back the next day, Friday, Aug 25th to sign the paperwork. After almost a week, we thought we'd like to have our car back as a third, spare vehicle. I texted our salesman and he said we couldn't get it back at our tradin in value, but I quote, "Hey Steve I just got with management and this is what they had to say. They say the vehicle has been ran through service and we've put some money into it. So it would be more than what it was traded in for, but we would definitely work with you guys. If you can make it in and take delivery of it before close of business Thursday we will make it worth your while." So, my wife and I go back on Thursday. We sit and wait for the formal, written offer our salesman must get from his manager. Remember the quote about making it worth our while? I guess that means slapping us in the face with a proposed listing of over $20,000! Don't worry though, we were also offered a very special discount of approximately $1,600. Now, I can see paying $15,300 to get it back. That is if they put a new windshield in (They told us this had to be done with the chip on the driver's side), and if they took the time for inspection, fluids, and filters. I'm really curious if they did any of that yet. Now what further lead insult to injury was that yesterday evening, Sep 1st 2023, my wife showed me they listed it to the public for $19,054. I guess that our special discount is going to the public too. Buyer Beware. This car is in excellent condition, but they only paid $14,300 for it. They may have installed a windshield. We strongly recommend shopping for a used or new Honda elsewhere, but maybe you enjoy the feeling of being held hostage while the salesman can't answer any questions himself, and continuously goes to the manager's office to have private discussions. I diagnosed my own exhaust spring bolt replacement need. I was quoted a price of 200 to 280 and told it would not exceed 280 and only if they had to remove the oil pan to get to the connection. I was charge 335 and told they did not have to remove the oil pan???? I was charged 106 dollars for parts. Two springs, two bolts and a washer. The highest price I could find on line was 27 for the kit. The estimate included 63 for the bolts and springs so I was charged 43 dollars for a gasket that sells for 7. I expect markup on parts but 106 for 35 dollars for parts is a ripoff of the highest level. And beyond that exceeding the quoted price on a minor often needed repair in indefensible. A few weeks ago Tyler Honda in Stevensville asked if I would turn in my lease early. I made an appointment to talk to them. I was shown the car I'd be leasing in the back garage because it was a stormy afternoon. It was a little chaotic back there so it was a rushed viewing, I was then told to test drive it and the sales guy was with me. Again, it was storming like crazy out so the drive was more of me just trying to get back to the dealership than a true test drive: I was told a "few" features had changed with this new model. Things like no moon roof, dials for the radio and manual seats. As I was sitting in the showroom waiting for numbers my guy told me to grab my current keys from the desk and leave...always listen to your gut. The sales guy came back and told me I'd need a $500 deposit and I said no...then he told me $250 would work. In the time that he was working with the business office I was told to call fraud protection and my insurance agent. I was then taken to an office to sign paperwork. The door was closed and it was myself and finance manager. He told me that since this was my fifth lease he didn't need to go over the paperwork and to just sign where he told me. He then proceeded to tell me that the next day would be "a good Lifetime movie day". This comment totally threw me and again I just wanted to get up and get my keys and leave. I was flustered. I was handed keys and paperwork and out the door I went with the grossest and uneasy feeling. As I was driving home I realized that I had a downgraded version of the car I had traded in and when I got home and looked over my paperwork it confirmed it. I immediately called the dealership and spoke to the finance manager and was told my sales guy was gone and he would have them call me in the morning. The next morning (a Saturday) I did indeed get a call with an offer for them to put tint on my windows and get me a cargo cover. I said that this helped but it didn't change the fact that I got a car that I didn't want and I'd rather just have my old car back. On Monday I contacted their GM and if anyone is interested in seeing the emails I have them and can forward them on. I was told that they couldn't understand my frustration and I got a great car. That same Monday I emailed the owner of Tyler Honda, Chris Tyler and asked for a phone call. Instead he emailed me and told me he agreed with his GM that they have no idea why I was upset and that I should "enjoy my car sooner rather than later". I visited another dealership that was kind enough to talk with me about this situation and try to offer a solution of trading this car in only to find out that in the paperwork that was not gone over with me that I payed a penalty for returning my lease, which they asked for back early. The car that I have is currently work $22k and I owe $30k due to this penalty. The only way I could get out of this situation is to have a $4000 down payment with trading this car in. I'm basically stuck in this lease with a car I hate and an every day reminder of this experience. I am not discounting my part in this. I should have read over every bit of that paperwork and asked questions. I should have listened to my gut. At the time I felt discriminated against because of my gender and disregarded. I have called Honda's corporate office and filed a formal complaint but not much can be done as their dealerships are independently owned. Please beware when dealing with this organization!! Had a HORRIBLE experience with this dealership!! Bought a car and tried to start it the very next day after purchased and it would not start! Took it back and they said it was the battery. Went to go to work the following day and it would not start. Took it back again and was treated very badly. They hooked it up to diagnostics and I was told that their was nothing wrong with it. It just kept doing the same thing. I did not want to go anywhere with it as I was afraid it would leave me stranded. I took it to my mechanic and the starter was failing and it had an oil leak. My 81 year-old mother recently went in for an oil change. Nearly $1,000 in service work was suggested (including $260 for transmission maintenance). She'd had the transmission serviced at another service provider only 10,000 miles prior to this visit, so she went to the garage that serviced it. They indicated it was in fine shape and still had 20,000 miles until it needed any additional service. This revenue model isn't unheard of in this industry, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. If you do choose to go here, expect a pitch for all sorts of service. read more

I've tried for many years to do business with Tyler. We had two lease vehicles. Then I went to return and they didn't want to match price with several dealers that had the same price. I wanted to give them my business so I had to go to Kalamazoo. Now fast forward and my new lease has been getting oil changes because they are local and I wanted the changes done professionally so the lease return would have no issues. I decided to buy the vehicle after lease and decided to get a few warranty things fixed before it expired. The service manager told me..."oh they all have that. Oh we can't do anything there. Yeah sometimes that just happens." Now I've owned Honda's from my first car back in 1999, and have never seen these issues just ignored by Honda. Now let's go forward to today. Finally get to do my own oil change. Open hood and I see oil spills from lazy service. The cap for the oil is not tightened down. A bolt in the protective plate below is tightened so tight it won't come off. They are supposed to be torqued correctly. Had to take the oil pan bolt off with a hammer to my wrench because it was on too tight. The sealed area where the oil filter had dried on crap from previous changes. Supposed to clean that area. The worst part... it had over a quart of oil over spec. So now what do you think they will do if I call? Maybe they will say sorry....or they will blame it on me. They won't do anything. They just don't care. I'm calling Honda and giving several bits of info on how their company is bad for the Honda brand. So next time you need to buy or service your car, I've given my honest concerns and warning. I'm sure not every soul there is a problem but they have not met my expectations and now the future concerns with my car. Actually there is a gentleman named Mark. I arrived at 9 am for a scheduled appointment for an oil change (alarm light was on) and to see why a repair that was done in the spring needed to be done again. We agreed I would wait for the work to be done. It turns out the reason for the alarm light was that after an oil change last spring, the technician HAD NOT RESET THE MILEAGE COUNTER, resulting in a FALSE ALARM. And, after 90 minutes of waiting the tech HAD NOT EVEN LOOKED AT THE REPAIR ISSUE, because, as the service manager told me: "I guess the tech didn't know you were waiting." Wow. read more
