Old (2008) Prius, old cars experts! We are forever clients now!! New Location located right of Modern Designs & More LLC/Floor Showroom off of Twain Ave (kind of behind Green Valley Grocery). They pick up their phones/text through phone. Our go to mechanic for everything from usual oil change, to complicated old issues where most mechanic will guess their work. At Tyler Express, they know what they are doing. And if they have to figure it out, I fully trust them in not trying to rip me off; they will explain what they feel they can control. We've been going since 2024; they moved location to 3915 W Twain Ave. I kept forgetting to create this review. - In the past, an oil change, oil filter would be like 15-20min for $30ish cash/zelle. - This visit we brought our own oil, oil filter, filters (cabin/engine), fuel system cleaner; and pay for labor. All of this + whole car quick check is 45min-1hr from $70. We already have our own oil due to needed to refill the Prius every so often. Otherwise, I don't think its an issue to just use their supplies? Waiting room is clean with comfortable new couches, coffee Keurig cup machine, etc. It has ac. You'll have to walk through the left door office, and it's in the back area of it. With this new location, you're like 6min walk away from many great places -- - Plaza with Golden Tiki (bars and food), - 99 Ranch Market and plaza, - Rio Casino Hotel, and - Take It Easy Roasters to morning/afternoon wifi/study/work on laptop from 8am-4pm (9min/0.4 miles stroll away) - Pop Café to afternoon/evening wifi/study/work on laptop from 2pm-10pm M-Sat (13min/0.6 miles stroll away). Google Maps makes this place pretty difficult to find. DIRECTIONS: 1. Google to Green Valley Grocery, then 2. drive to the right of it where Modern Designs & More LLC/Floor Showroom is. 3. My Prius tour 2008 has gone through so many random issues over the years. Reddit to youtube can offer a lot of different solutions too for these scenarios. You'll learn a lot of tips and more about your car.... Opening trunk hatchback from the inside of the car, make the dashboard screen appear when needed again, etc.. Towing: - We called Tyler Auto and they were willing to take us in. They took in our car from being towed for simple stupid mistake by us (no gas, we have a dashboard blank out issue/typical issue for old Prius in hot climate places). - Towed our car in. Apparently a lot of cars get towed here. Alot of the Vietnamese restaurant owners bring their car there which is a good sign to us. - Tow person's tip: Police tow will cost around $500 where cops also get a cut from it. Don't take a Police tow unless you have to. Cash or Zelle is best. They have QR code to pay. read more

I drove from Vancouver to Vegas which took 20 hours (1300 miles) and the tie rod broke in the middle of the I-15 so I got the '09 Civic towed to the nearest shop which was tyler express. The car was undrivable and in very rough shape very far from home and I thought I would have to dump the car. Kenny was able to move the vehicle into the shop and took care of me by replacing the entire front left suspension. I explained to him I did not budget for this happening and he seemed to be understanding and was able to source a cheaper used part as I am a student and could not afford thousands of dollars in repairs. That was first a good sign for me because he is creating a legacy for his family line, which also helped because he treated me like I was family. I had my brakes and suspension done prior to driving to vegas from LA and he showed me how that company didn't out the same suspensions and only replaced one side of my brakes! My radiator was leaking and finally overheated and I was afraid that I might have blown the head gasket. I took my Dodge to Firestone for a diagnostic check and they informed me that my engine block was cracked and that would be a $3K job. I took the car to Tyler Express and JR ran another diagnostic and told me they can fix it by replacing the radiator, adding something to gasket and they got it fixed for less than $800! Today, I took my Honda CR-V to Tyler Express Auto Body Repair. The rear automatic cargo door did not close completely. The rear bumper was also misaligned. Chau greeted me. After looking carefully at my Honda, he said the rear bumper assembly and rear body panels would have to be removed. He needed to see what was wrong. I authorized them to proceed. After the complete bumper assembly and rear panels were removed, he discovered numerous fasteners were missing. He replaced the missing fasteners and reassembled the body panels and bumper assembly. He took great care to align all body parts and gaps. The Honda looks perfect now. The automatic cargo door closes like new. A really great job at a reasonable price. At 42 years old and and driving for 26 years, had over 10 cars and worked with plenty of mechanics as I lived all over... -- I just met my favorite mechanic of my life here. I'll also state 1000% I am a real customer and 1000% I am sincere - the owner Kenny is truly a brilliant mechanic and a good human being. I drove to Vegas Thursday 6/9/22 and had to leave Sunday evening to get to school Monday morning. My car made it the 6 hours to Vegas from San Diego just fine but then one mile after pulling out of the casnio parking lot on Sunday to get back for school the check engine light came on!!! I drove to a auto parts store a mile away and used their computer to check what problem my cars computer said it was having and it said the thermostat needed replacing... Definitely couldn't drive hours now and it was 630pm!! ... with school just the next morning I couldn't miss. I started calling any shop close to where I was parked and when Kenny answered he had just left for the day but after hearing my situation he grabbed his keys and met me at his shop 10 minutes later. There are a million ways this could of went down. A mechanic could of acted as if it'll cost a ton and squeeze me even pretending its worse or taking their time. Could of changed parts that didn't need ... But not Kenny. ........ Kenny truly is actually honest. And a literal brilliant mechanic. He examined each part of my vehicles system - used various computers to analyze different readings of the codes that my car put out around this issue. He used a laser temp gauge analyzing the temps and how they correlated coming and going from the upper and lower radiator hoses. I don't want to write too too long but really want to express how great he is. In the end.. -- after about 45 minutes he was able to fix my problem and I honestly think most mechanics would of just started changing and having me pay for parts that Kenny saw he didn't need to do to fix my car. Then he didn't even decide to charge me - he knew I was a student - I didn't need parts - and just asked me to pay it forward and help someone else. So he got me right back on the road and I was able to drive all the way back to San Diego with no problems at all. It was 100 degrees out and to top it off before I left he even went into his business break room fridge and filled a bag with cold beverages for me for the drive. I am being totally real when I express how good a guy he is... It was an epic conclusion to a situation that started with so much stress and anxiety when the warning light went on ---- his good energy and help and kindness was truly moving.. It was so nice to have this interaction with a good human being. .. This last statement I am writing --- this is not me working hard at writing a fake review, this story is totally true and I really experienced all of this and on my honor mean what I am saying about him ---- I met Kenny in Vegas at the exact moment I needed him -- no matter how long it takes me to make it back to Vegas I will be looking him up and taking him out. I will also be on the lookout for something good to send him as a gift. He not only got me on the road and I was able to not miss a key day of school. ..but I feel its not a stretch to say he saved me hundreds of dollars had I ended up at a different shop paying after hours rates. The best place to take your car if anything goes wrong with it. Our car overheated in Vegas on a Sunday when we were trying to leave back home. When we called Tyler Express, Kenny answered the phone and he offered himself to come out and work on the car or to take it in to his shop right away. He and his mechanics worked so hard on our car that we felt bad for them it being a Sunday. Turns out our car blew a head gasket which needed replaced before we went anywhere. Not only did they fix the problem but they went above and beyond in fixing the car installing new parts.
