My daughter and a bunch of her 14 yr old friends took a series of self defense classes here. They taught the girls how to be aware of their surroundings. It was not a fear tactic but a reality check. They taught the girls how to get out of physical situations that were very realistic. I was impressed and learned a lot myself just by watching. The instructors really seemed to care that the students got the concepts down and weren't just phoning it in. Definitely worth it!!! read more

TX Black Belt Academy - Martial Arts Near Me - Fort Worth, Texas

We enjoy their family feel and professionalism! My son started at age 6 and now at age 7 has gained some positive reinforcement of confidence and perseverance. Master Landon is very kind and thorough. The space is a good size and well maintained.l with ample parking. My son has enjoyed his classes and we parents like the flexibility of times offered for group. Definitely a good skill to have and the principles that come with karate and the martial arts in general. read more

Small classes. One real instructor. "Advanced students" are about 13 years old. Money hungry, they don't care really about teaching, more about how many kids they can stuff into a session. 20-30 kids for 1 teacher is insane. We cannot wait until the contract is up. read more

Super appreciative of this company! Great customer service! They are only martial arts company out of five that not only returned my phone call asking for assistance, but went beyond and helped me fulfill a training requirement. Super friendly, kind, integrity! read more

My son has been attending TXBBA for almost 3 years! My initial reasoning was to get him into a structured environment and something he could do the rest of his life to stay physically active. Little did I know that it would involve so much more. They teach kids to have confidence in themselves which carries into their daily actions! We also received a large group of people that we now consider extended family. They say it takes a village and we definitely have that at TXBBA-Fort Worth! The Bedore family has created an excellent environment for young kids and adults to really grow! I highly recommend anyone to give it a try! Both you and your child will not regret it.... guaranteed!!! I want to really thank Landon and Jacob Bedore for taking my son under their wing! He looks forward to being on the mat as much as possible!!! read more

We love this place! My daughter has been attending Texas Black Belt Academy for 5 years and has learned much more than just karate forms. TXBBA emphasizes self-confidence, personal responsibility, and respect alongside the mechanics of karate. Master Donnie leads an amazing team including Masters Landon, Jacob,, Jessica, Kim and Dillon. Each of them embodies the ideals of karate very well. read more

If i could leave 0 stars, I would! This place charges wayyy too much for the 30 minute "playdate" sessions that the call lessons.. my son has been there for 3 months, hasnt learned AnythinG, and when we tried to talk to the owner about having lost my job, and my son needed to quit because of financial reasons, all they did was quite litterally wave the contract in our faces!! Joining TXBBA Was a Huge mistake, and I hope that more people realize that this place is after nothing but money... read more

My son has attended class for over a year and I could not be happier. The instructors are both thorough and thoughtful - especially Elijah!

just another money hungry family owned business who will overcharge you and refuse to give you your moneys worth. you'll get better training else where and have teachers who actually care about your technique. Not to mention, thoroughly explain things to you. Classes are cut short because they have other class run other due to poor management and they DO NOT REFUND you for time or money DUE TO THERE TERRIBLE SERVICES and POOR MANAGEMENT. DO NOT GO HERE. I'd give negative stars if possible. read more

Poor management and unethical. All they care about is money, not your children at all. They adjust so called training times without telling anyone and do little to no training in martial arts. They lie just to get you to sign then hide behind this so called contract to steal your money. Stay far far away from this group. read more

We had my sons 10th birthday here and Donnie's sons hosted it. It was affordable, they decorated for me with their own decor, provided plates and flatware, they were great with the kids, and made this day so special. We chose a Jedi training party so all the kids used light sabers and learned professional moves. We had cake and opened gifts and then they did a Star Wars trivia while cake settled. The party ended with a battle and all the kids including my son thought it was the most awesome party they've ever been too. I am so glad we booked our party here and we will be back! read more

If I could give 1/2 a star, I would. Save yourself the pain and frustration and do not enroll your kiddo! The space itself is very small and they do not cap the classes, so we experienced very full classes and only one instructor. Advanced students (often very young),"assist" the classes, however, there is no way the students get individualized instruction due to lack of manpower. The parents and siblings sit next to the mat to wait for class to end, and, there are so many parents watching the class that they run out of chairs and it's standing room only. Toddlers are screaming and it's complete chaos. It's impossible for the karate students to focus due to the crowding and noise. Parking is a nightmare. It's expensive for what you are actually getting, as they charge separately for everything. Bottom line: it's a rip off and you don't get your money's worth. read more

REAL TALK HERE... i've been rolling around these mats for almost a year now and you're not going to find another facility as comfortable and well equipped as this. Mr.Donnie is not only exceptionally knowledgable but always courteous, professional, and patient with his students. Even if you have never lifted a finger in your life, he will guide you not only to become a better fighter but a more calm and confident person as well. read more

untrustworthy place. All they care about is getting people to sign up and trick you into a contract that wont give you a refund. They refuse to give any money back and treat you terribly when giving various reasonable explanations as to why you no longer want their services. The owner doesnt even teach the classes. Some teenage kid is teaching the classes and has a "i dont care" attitude. sometimes the teen is playing around instead of attending and teaching the class. Teen would be talking to his girlfriend instead of instructing. The owners wife is demeaning, rude, and will laugh at you while you're trying to do your best. She will also sometimes teach the classes too. It's a hot potato random selection of who will teach the "classes". Sometimes the class for 15 min or 30 min then 10 min the next time you go. It was never consistent and a complete waste of time and money. Biggest regret and worst decision ever going here. Negative stars. Oh... and not to mention... it's like they never clean the place. Dust everywhere!! read more

Horrible! They have been steeling money from us since we signed up! We were unable to attend after the first free trial class and they refused to cancel payments, maxed our credit card and have sent us a bill for the entire years worth of classes! Very rude. Total scammers read more

Complete Rip off. Overcrowded Classes. We tried to freeze our account when our son became sick and they would not...just kept sending bills and threatened to report us to credit agency. I liken them to a cheap gym that gets you to sign up and doesn't fufill any of the things they promise. read more

Wonderful professional instructors whom the kids respect and adore. Positive environment that teaches valuable life habits along with black belt techniques. read more

my gradnson crys because he cannot understand the instructor and gets mixed up ...i have tried to cancel but they will not cancel even though my grandson does not speak spanish...when i just assumed it would all be in english (most is but not completely as the insturctor will speak in spanish occassionally and it totally confuses a 5 year old)..... i feel like i am punishing him to make him go because they will not cancel the contract so i am stuck for 16 months... read more

I've trained at this facility off and on since Mr. Donnie took it over. The instruction is stellar. You will not find a more knowledgeable and patient group of instructors. They also offer private lessons for more one on one if that's what your looking for. The group classes have top notch structure. The confidence and discipline I've developed would not have happened without this school. read more

I cannot tell you how glad I am that I finally joined. Like everybody, I used every excuse not to join. I finally took the first step and walked through the doors and I haven't looked back. I can't stop telling people about #TXBBA Fort Worth! Master Don and his entire team/family are THE nicest people you will meet. The classes are a great workout and fun at the same time. The entire staff is great with kids and adults. Just stop by and I know you'll be impressed. read more

My entire family trains at TXBBA and we all love Master Donnie and Mrs. Celeena. You will not find anyone more passionate about teaching martial arts and changing students' lives than Master Donnie. At TXBBA, martial arts is not about learning to beat people up. You learn to protect yourself, but Master Donnie teaches much more than that. Character traits such as respect, responsibility, and self-discipline are hit just as hard as technique, especially in the kids' classes. Our family has experienced every level of training from Little Dragons to adult Instructor training. We have been impressed with them all. Master Donnie shows the same level of dedication to every student regardless of their age, skill, or background. I personally had never done anything athletic before training at TXBBA and Master Donnie made me feel right at home. TXBBA offers a free class so you can see for yourself. You won't be disappointed! read more

Scams, unfaithful, all what they care about is to make you sign a contract with them. Then will show you the other face. I went there and my daughter was so happy to start a class with them, I didn't want a long contract though but Mr. Donn assured me that I can cancel and he asks me to sign one paper and he was telling me what in it since it was written in tiny hand writing, after two months my daughter wasn't feel good to continue and I went there to talk to them, and they show me there other face, so be ware from what you sign and don't trust them read more

Two years ago my family "shopped" for a karate studio for our two boys to attend. After going to several other studios we came across Tx Black Belt Academy. We instantly loved it! They have great programs so the whole family can train! The instructors are awesome and have become like family. Since joining my kids have not only learned karate but also lesson to be used in everyday life. The instructors talk to the kids about being respectful, confidence, what to do if confronted by a bully, strangers, and many more useful everyday lessons. I'm so glad to have found this outstanding karate school. read more
