We thought it would take two or three days to get done... they arrived early Saturday morning, were 100% complete and left around 5pm. A big crew of 7 or 8 roofers. The main part of the house had a metal roof. There was an addition on the back that had asphalt shingles. There were some leaks where the two met. The metal roof had been put on over an existing asphalt roof and had holes where it had been attached and this allowed water to seep through to the older asphalt roof and caused some damage to the sheeting. They had to remove both metal and asphalt layers. They also replaced some of the sheeting. The whole thing was a mess. Now we have a beautiful new roof and no worries about leaks. The roof looks great and they did a very good job cleaning up the yard after the install.

They diagnosed the original problem which was an issue with the window flashing being done incorrectly from the builders and corrected the issue. It then rained and started showing a lesser water leak than before. The siding guy came back out within 24hrs and noticed another issue with my siding and the direction the wind was coming at my house and reversed the seams of my siding. I have not had a leak since! I definitely recommend these guys and will come back to them if I have any other issues with my house. They were reasonably priced and did very good work. Thank you guys!

TL;DR - The entire experience was exceptional; I could not find ANYTHING to complain about!…read more This is going to be a long review, but if you are seriously exploring roofing companies, this is the review you are going to want to read. Back in 2018, a very large roofing company that shall not be named (not Slade Roofing), used a contest entry marketing tactic to get into my home and give me a free "inspection" of our roof, in which their "professional" opinion determined that my attic did not have proper ventilation and thus my shingles were ruined and I needed a completely new 25 year GAF roofing system in the tune of what was at the time $25k. I didn't know anything about roofing and yet they were immediately pushing a contract at me and expecting me to sign it on the spot as this great "deal" was only good if I were to sign it right then and there. Long story short, I told them I needed time and showed them the door. With such a scare that my roof was about to completely collapse on top of me at any moment, I sought a second opinion from Slade Roofing. The owner personally met with me and informed me that my roof was completely fine and had no problems whatsoever. Not only that, he gave me a demonstration to show me the superiority of the Malarkey shingles over the GAF ones, and then told me that if I had needed my shingles replaced, that he could have done it with a 50 year shingle, and at more than half of the cost of what the other company quoted us! The "crisis" was averted and being that I didn't need a roof, that was where we left it. Fast forward to the present. My family is building a new home and we needed a roof system put on it. I was worried where Slade Roofing is such a large company that their prices would be out of our budget, so I didn't even want to waste their time by getting a quote from them and instead quoted from several other smaller companies and contractors in the area. Being that I was sold on Malarkey shingles, I found a general contractor that would be willing to install them on our roof for us and we decided to move forward with that route. When the time came in our build where we were ready to have them installed, this general contractor we had chosen was unable to install the shingles and informed us they were delayed by at least a couple of weeks. Now, I do not fault this company as I understand in the world of construction that things do come up, but when we have other sub contractors that are already scheduled and depend on things being on time, this was going to throw a wrench in to a lot of other people's schedules as well. That being the case, I decided to reach out to Slade Roofing just to see how far out their scheduling was and to see if we could make it work with our limited budget. For time frame reference, I spoke with them on a Tuesday and they were able to get on site and get the roof done on Thursday of that same week, and it was all done in just 1 day! I'm not saying they will always be able to make things happen that quickly, but dang that was fast! As for the budget, I will admit that they were not as cheap as our original general contractor quote, however, the price difference was not astronomically more expensive either (speaking of astronomical price differences, in my initial process of getting roof quotes for building our house I inadvertently received a quote from that same large company that I had dealings with in 2018. A person reached out to us asking to give us a roofing quote and did not tell us their affiliation until AFTER we'd given them our information. That quote price was MORE THAN FOUR TIMES more expensive than Slade Roofing!). As for the price being a little more expensive than the general contractor price had quoted us, in the end, I felt that it was a justifiable increase because of the kind of business that Slade Roofing is. I'm not saying that the general contractor wouldn't have done a good job, but they didn't have any guarantees or warranty with their work. On the other hand, Slade Roofing is one of the few roofers in Idaho that is certified by Malarkey to install their shingles. They also guarantee their work and if anything does happen to go wrong, they will stand by their work and will fix it and make it right. They run the kind of business that not only uses quality shingles and does quality work, they also will stand by their work if something doesn't work. It's a peace of mind worth paying more for. They worked with us to come up with a work plan that fit the budget and still got all the necessities done. We ended up needing to get plywood installed under our shingles to bring the roof up to code, which was an unexpected expense, but again, they worked with us to make it as manageable as possible. The new roof looks great, they worked through the whole day to get it done, and their cleanup afterward was top-notch. They were a pleasure to work with, even with something as unpleasant as an unexpected major expense with the roof.

It was time to replace the roof that was perilously old after a large windstorm blew off a patch of shingles. Our contractor put in a huge bid, hoping that our insurance company would simply write them a check. Didn't happen. I did an extensive review of roofers in the area and settled on North Idaho Exteriors and one other. Both jumped off of the page. I had solid bids fairly quickly from both companies. Chris Haley reached out to me and sent me all of the information. Chris noted to me that they couldn't get started on it for 3 months but would send a crew out to cover up and patch the exposed area of the roof. A huge help! Wil McGuire called me and let me know that they were going to knock out the roof the next day. I was impressed that they were able to finish the whole project in a day. It makes it much nicer for the tenants. Wil kept me informed of the progress throughout the day with copious photos, videos, and explanations. Sadly, all of our plywood sheeting needed to be replaced as it was very soft and rotting out. There was also a ceiling joist that was in need of repair. The whole tear down and installation was finished within the day. The only downside was the extra cost of the plywood (which I had anticipated). Chris helped me out and matched the other bid that I had received to help soften the blow of the additional cost. The communication process has been amazing. Chris and I have had many very nice conversations (talking about baseball and our kids). Makes it nice when you have a personal connection in addition to the business transaction. Very nice, smooth, and easy transaction with a very high quality, warrantied, roof. I highly recommend!

We recently bought a home that desperately needed a new roof and mold remediation. The mold issue was a huge health concern for us since we have three very young children and I have asthma. It was urgent to get the roof done ASAP, since it had to be completed before they could start on the mold issue. I talked to several roofers in the area and did several bids. North Idaho Exteriors was the only one that was concerned about my family health and willing to re-arrange their schedule to help us out (due to our time crunch). They were very competitive with their bid, had the best warranty, were extremely friendly and professional (unlike most the others I talked to), left the job site clean, did excellent work, and had it all completed in only two days! I called tri state roofing and told them what I needed. They sent someone out while I was at work and my wife was home. My wife told the guy what we needed. He went up on the roof and immediately started measuring the whole roof. After awhile he came down and tried to tell my wife we needed a new roof even though we just had it inspected and knew that it didn't. He kept making excuses and kept trying different reasons. I came home and told the guy I just wanted what I asked for. He said he was working on a bid. He spent another 20 minutes in his truck working on his bid so I called the business number I initially called and told the receptionist the situation and I just needed a price and I needed it fixed. She said she would call the guy. A few minutes later he started up his truck and drove off. He spent almost an hour and a half at my house and did nothing. I called someone else out. He looked at it agreed with the inspection which stated the roof was in good condition. For $65 service call and less than an hour worth of work it was fixed. I would never recommend tri state roofing to anyone.
