The contractor we hired practically ghosted us at the 9 week point and the countertop dealer terminated his account after a balance had never been paid for our materials. After firing him we found Paul and Ideal Construction who answered our call instantaneously. We explained the situation and he immediately got to work on the remainder of the project and finished it 2 days. After not being able to have a functioning kitchen, and left potentially with no end in sight he knocked out some significant plumbing issues the previous contractor left amiss, appliance installations, Backsplash installation, and some touchups to bring it home. Paul and his team were easy to deal with, no BS and did the job RIGHT.

Plus we had gotten subway tiles (another company) around the same time back in the Spring of '18 to pull the kitchen together for a finished and modern look. Yonkers Cabinets came highly recommended by our initial kitchen tile guy- so we knew we were getting top-notch here. Before anything, these guys did a fantastic job at ripping off the outdated countertops back then- in order to start with a blank canvas. End result was crisp and chic and to this day, the edges between our subway tiles and our countertop are perfectly sealed and that's thanks to these folks and the kitchen tile guy for working together. I keep a glass olive oil bottle with a spout for easy access on my counter. However, I accidentally lost grip of that heavy aS$ olive oil bottle causing it to break- and much worse....chip my new countertop. The chip isn't big at all- actually it's the size of a crumb....small- right? But I get real OCD. And that damn chip has been bothering me ever since- just because I can see it. We paid quite a bit for our solid, slate greyish kitchen quartz counters and the last thing I wanted to do was a do-it-yourself job. I stopped in one morning back in October and my guy Winter was super chill and helpful. All he did was look for our info from his end: address, phone number, color and type of countertop we had gotten- plus he wanted an image of the chip- which I didn't have with me. Winter was able to transfer our contact info to one of Yonkers Cabinets' contractors to come to our house. After all was said and done, our tiny chip repair was more than I expected to pay- but it's so worth it.

This is the third time I have used Champion for a major job, and I couldn't be happier. We had…read morewater penetrating from the wall and floor of our garage, and finally decided that it was coming up through the concrete. The garage floor was 80 years old and only an inch thick. I worked with Danny on a scope that addressed the garage floor, the rear concrete deck, the sidewalk, and also provided painting and finishing in the garage. He was very patient while working out the scope and cut back or found much cheaper solutions for parts of the job. As usual, during the work Danny called me every day (how often can you say that about a contractor) to let me know the status or check on decisions. He recommended a more durable screen door replacement and he also replaced an existing light fixture at no charge. We identified some additional drainage problems that contributed to the leakage, and quickly agreed to an expanded scope to cover drain repairs at a reasonable price. His crew were extremely considerate, timely, reliable and knowledgeable. All of his recommendations were solid, and he worked hard to accommodate our budget. Where he couldn't, he was absolutely correct in recommending a slightly more expensive solution to address unexpected conditions and cut back on other parts of the scope. Today we have a watertight garage (which I thought would never be possible) that is clean, painted and useful. We were able to park our car in it, avoiding a major snowstorm, for the first time in ten years. Heavy rainstorms have not produced water inside. Danny is trustworthy and reliable and we are pleased with the work of each member of his team.

He called at 10 to say he was leaving. The broker, my wife, and I stood around till he shows inconveniencing us and the homeowner. He looks it over and also declares that we should use him for painting too as we want to repaint the entire home. In the entire time he took no notes, measurements, etc. We leave with Danny stating that he would be back to us with ideas in a few days. A week later he hasn't called so I email and call. Finally he texts back to say he was away for a few days and that he would call after the weekend. We never heard from him again. Thank goodness we never did business with Danny and Champion!
