*Banner Ranch Julian- Huge very nice nature trees/flowers/…read moreetc nice walks wandering is so nice we saw a big turkey walks female turkeys follow him where he goes awww! Yes squirrels are so precious! Rabbits are so cute too! *You can cook your food on bbq Each cottage have bbq , picnic table etc nice. You can park your car Next to your future cottage! *cottages are awesome!! For example one is Pink one as Green nice size one is purple one is yellow yeah different cottage with different colors Very nice natural walk everywhere on the property there are two large wagons awesome to sleep in! *My friend and I love seeing 2 BURROS. They are so sweet to us we fed them (I diced apples in pieces) throw the core in the wild plants (grass, trees etc) according to Todd the store manager told us. Snacks can be bought from the store to feed two burros. We arrived sat we fed them twice on Saturday we fed them 3 times. Sunday we fed them twice before we left - we sure miss them so much you can just stop by and feed them too. We like our pink cottage. We like to come back again!! Christmas sounds good! Hmm

Even though I only stayed inside one unit, the property clearly offers several themed rentals, each with its own character and charm. The setting itself is the real highlight -- peaceful, open, and wonderfully quiet. It's the kind of place you go when you need your brain to slow down. I often stopped by just to sit in the sun, walk the grounds, and enjoy the unexpected bonus... real wild turkeys roaming around. Not decorative -- actual turkeys -- which somehow adds perfectly to the rustic atmosphere. There's also an onsite store (with limited hours, so plan ahead) offering food and drinks. Downstairs is a small thrift shop in what used to be an old saloon -- easily one of the most unique parts of the property and fun to browse. The covered wagon accommodations look especially fun and are on my list for a future stay when I want a quiet escape close to home. Banner Ranch isn't flashy -- it's calm, simple, and restorative. If you're looking for peace, sunshine, and a place to decompress, this is a solid choice. If I could take off half a star I would only because of the limited store hours...however, lets be real....I wasn't there to shop.

The home feels like you've just walked into a custom newly decorated family environment. There were four adults and 3 children (over 18) sharing this beautiful getaway! I live in a lovely home in Julian (2400 sq ft) with a view of the Cuyamacas. This 2500 sq ft house competes... with everything you could hope for when getting away in the mountains with every convenience and comfort on your getaway! Can't say enough about how much we all loved it and are planning our next trip soon! I recommend this to all my family and friends!!!

(1) the cabin is just beautiful inside and out. (2) They allowed us to have two large dogs without a insane fee and they even had a convenient spot in the master bedroom where the dogs could sleep. Its essentially a large walk-in closet and they even provided a child gate so the dogs could see us but not be tempted to roam the house or jump on the bed. (3) the bed in the master bedroom was soooooo incredibly comfortable and this meant a lot to us because we already have a really nice bed at home (4) Great location. No loud neighbors. The house is close to town and it does not require a crazy drive to get to. (5) The owners are super friendly. (6) great price for what you get. Seriously, we cannot wait to go back!

This booking was for a 3 night stay / it was a little under $500. Upon arrival: extremely unsafe stair case / unfinished hand rails (splinters) are tough. I would NOT book this space if you have knee, hip, or back issues. The room has a bar sink .. but there was no soap to wash glasses/ simple stuff. That was sort of disappointing. The bathroom had no soap in the old school hand dispenser...even the oil diffuser was dry, y'all... The bed was so uncomfortable-so broken in, we kept rolling to the middle of it! The shower had obvious signs of grout mold... the first night we were there, the other neighbors asked ME if it was okay for them to smoke weed! They were super loud and went in and out all night. That's fine. I didn't even mind that. If you book this spot, it's like a duplex. Our second night there we left $20 in the "honor bar" that Laura has on the property. At that time she came in/ introduced herself. I told her how much we were loving our stay & she said thank you, that's what they try to do. When we left the Oak Hill Inn we cleaned it + left it better than we found it. We left Laura another $20 on the table in our room... As an FDR & EMB I take reviews very seriously. When we left this place Laura, the host, wrote that me and my partner, Maggie, were not a good fit for Oak Hill Inn. Huh?!! But I guess my extra $40 were! I'n from the imperial valley + spent so much time with my family in Juilan all of my life growing up. I would def not stay here, spend the extra $100 for peace at the Julian hotel or the lodge. Beware!!!

The owners are SO friendly, greeted us with a smile, and showed us around to ensure that we felt right at home. It is tucked away under shady trees, lots of flowers, and near great hiking, a national park, and more. It has a comfy queen bed + futon if you bring kiddos, an adorable kitchenette stocked with coffee, cream, fruit, freshly baked bread and sweets from a local bakery, water, and butter. It has it's own little driveway so even though it is pretty close to the owner's home, you still feel like it is your own place. It has a fenced in patio with a little fountain + blooming lily pads! We saw deer and heard the birds singing from the adorable little back patio, that was fully equipped with a table and two chairs. The best part - we were able to bring our pup with us!!! He LOVED rolling around in the grass and spending time in the fresh air. The town of Julian is fantastic, and was so festive over the 4th of July! There is so much to see and do. We highly suggest the Gold Mine Tour, visiting the wineries, cider tasting, shopping, indulging in delicious pies, and more. Even in the summer there were things to do but we can't wait to come in the Fall when there are way more festivities! We will absolutely be back to this quaint little casita again. Thank you for the incredible hospitality!!

We entered the house and there was no Wi-Fi. We explained this to Barbara, and she said most likely it would be restored. It was. Barbara was dismissive when I asked for a partial refund. I had a 9 year old grandson with me who wanted to play his games. She said it was a "force majuere and out of her control". Yet, the provider offers a refund to their customers in times of prolonged outage. I do not think it was unreasonable to ask for a partial refund as Internet nowadays is on the same level as electricity and heat. VRBO settled with me, as I'm a well-rated customer of theirs.
