She sat…read moredown with us on more than one occasion to review the shots that we really wanted to get and has spent several hours helping us plan out album. She has a very laid back attitude when she is working an event, but at the same time is very proactive about reminding you about milestones in case you forget in the planning phase. She came with us on our venue walk through to plan where to do the portrait shots and we were able to really maximize our short time at the venue. She gets along great with other vendors and one thing that was extremely important to me, she stays out of the guests way. I hate going to weddings where all you can see during the ceremony is the photographer, and this definitely isn't the case with Andi. And did I mention that she takes great shots? She took some wonderful candid shots of family members that are normally extremely camera shy, which I will treasure forever. She does excellent work in color and black and white, for reasonable prices and gives you digital negatives to everything. Of all of my vendors who helped on my wedding, Andi was the best!

My wife and I were looking for someone with a photojournalistic approach and who could capture the emotion and details of the day. We first came across Andi's work on her website and immediately loved her style. Unlike other photographers we considered, Andi's work was consistent and we loved her entire wedding portfolios and not just a few great pics from many different weddings. Not only did we love Andi's work, but we also loved Andi's easy going personality and responsiveness. Since we were planning our Napa wedding from NYC, we appreciated her initiative in visiting our site prior to the wedding and even had ideas already for ceremony, family and couple pictures! Andi has a great eye and was successful in capturing intimate and beautiful moments. On our one year anniversary we returned to the site of our wedding to relive a bit of the dream but nothing provides us with the same emotional satisfaction as watching Andi's slide show. Thank you Andi for making our wedding more beautiful than we could have imagined.

We went to 4 different outdoor spots around his studio with distinct backdrops, and for each one we iterated on poses and expressions, and he even picked up on some of my facial idiosyncracies in the process. We then went back into his studio and essentially conducted a realtime review session - viewing all the recently captured shots, flagging ones we liked, and ultimately discussing them until we settled on 2 winners. He then applied some minor edits within Lightroom and within 40 minutes from my initial arrival, I had 2 really sharp headshots which will serve me well for the next 5-7 years. John is incredibly personable and also immediately put me at ease. It is easy to feel stiff or self-concious during something like this, and he made it feel like a real partnership. Highly recommend him and his services. Plus the guy is just fun to chat with.

Memorable Photographs in a Beautiful Setting…read more My husband and I are celebrating a very special anniversary, and we love to hike. We engaged Joey to take photos of us enjoying the outdoors together. He suggested Rodeo Beach, one of our favorites! Joey scouted out several perfect locations before we arrived. He met us at 5:00, when the evening sun would be soft. During the photo shoot, he made us laugh to help us be "natural," even though he was recording what we did. Joey took photos of us walking on the beach, sitting on a bluff looking out over the ocean, hiking through flowers - the list goes on. We are thrilled with the variety and quality of our photos!

In our case, we even have excellent photographers and fancy cameras in the family, but capturing our 1-year old as anything but a blur and getting a picture of all three of us together was next to impossible. I had been keeping tabs on Joey's work for some time and when we were ready, I went through his gallery and wrote to all the friends I recognized who he had done sessions with (he's the go-to guy in the City now, apparently!). They unanimously said that he was easy to work with, professional, and caught the shots they were looking for. So we set it up! One of things I was struck by was how easy the logistics were, such as paying the deposit online, filling out a pre-shoot survey that asked helpful questions about what we had in mind, and choosing shots for prints from our gallery on his website. Joey is also affordable and turns the photos around quickly--we were able to choose shots to frame for Christmas presents within a few days of our session. The company he gets prints through was also speedy and the quality was perfect (especially compared to the DIY photo site options I've been floundering with this past year). Most importantly, Joey's documentary style of shooting was the right fit for us. He knows the city and it's backdrops extremely well, but I liked that he recommended we stay in our neighborhood so that when we look back at the photos, we will remember this time in our lives. Plus it made our kiddo more comfortable to be in his own space, playing with his own stuff. I was nervous that it was starting to rain and we wanted some outdoor shots, but it was no problem! We have some pretty lush landscaping in our condo complex that we showed Joey and he lit up, seeing the possibilities and taking some of the best shots of the bunch. And being a father himself, he has a cool, easy-going way with kids that brings out their best. We are totally thrilled with the process and the results and will definitely use Joey again.
