When I reminded the dispatcher that I was told to call that morning, he said he would have someone pick us up at the LIRR station in Garden City later that morning. NO ONE SHOWED UP. My Mom is 83 years old and was anxious about getting to this meeting on time (literally a 6 minute drive) from the LIRR. When I called the dispatcher asking where the taxi was, I was told we would have to wait 15 minutes. We called LYFT who showed up in 4 minutes.

I got picked up in a brand new Lincoln town car and my driver absolutely did the right thing by me. The ride was smooth and he did not rely on GPS which makes me believe he is a real Long Island driver which is very much unlike some other drivers I've seen in the city. For explanation read on: I usually walk from work to LIRR station, but with the unusually cold temperatures I decided to take a cab. To avoid any glitches I tried to plan ahead. I found this place and called them during lunch to ask about getting a taxi in the evening. I was told to call half an hr ahead and was given a very reasonable price quote. I called 40 minutes ahead, and just in case asked them to come earlier than I actually needed. After they were a few minutes late I decided to call and find out where my cab was. No one picked up! I started getting anxious because I was late for my train. For about TEN minutes NO ONE was picking up, sometimes I would even get a busy signal! So I went back to my desk and called from my work number. Immediately someone picked up. I demanded to know where my taxi was and the dispatcher told me it would be there in two minutes and for me to go and wait outside. That is what I did, as I was late for my train. Luckily my coworker offered me a lift to the train station. Since the dispatcher never called me back, I am pretty sure the cab never even showed up. The fact that the dispatcher told me to go and wait outside for a cab that never showed in about 8 degree wintery weather makes me wish yelp didn't offer even one star. Bottom line never again!

When I called back they said they sent someone who must have missed me and that there were no other taxis in the area to get me ... I have had taxi services call if they couldn't find me...
