My most recent visit it was $16.50 for a simple eyebrow wax. As a broke college student this was a major shock when it came time to check out. I drive home just to see there's so much hair that was not waxed off. The entire upper portion of my eyebrow still had hair along with in between them and a few hairs underneath my eyebrow. I remember her waxing these portions, but there is very clearly hair there. In my honest opinion, it is very hit or miss here and absolutely not worth 16$ when you get a half waxed eyebrow. The service I received was subpar. Especially for the cost of services, I simply just expected better. I made the appointment through the website and it was accepted. I received a follow up text from Alicia asking if I could move my appointment to an earlier time which I was happy to accommodate. A few hours later, she sent another text asking to push back to a later time than originally scheduled and I declined. Upon arrival to the salon, everything was nice. Space was clean and inviting and again, Alicia was very kind and we chatted the entire time. My Brazilian however fell way below expectations. There are obvious hairs that were missed (more than a half inch) and it feels very incomplete. I still have hairs on my backside which, in my opinion, should've been cleaned up. I am Southeast Asian so I do have really thick hair. I am hairy, I'll admit it. I'm not sure if she just wasn't used to that thick of hair or what but I definitely won't be visiting again. Well it's actually a funny story,…read more Many years ago when I was just a small infant my mother decided she wanted to get my ears pierced. Every time I ask her who did she go to for the piercing, she just says "the doctors". Well whoever the "doctors" were completely did a lopsided job. I was always insecure when wearing earrings and never wore them because my right ear's whole was way too high then the proper position. Kids in school would always ask me why my earrings were lopsided. Because of this I haven't worn earrings in years. I tried correcting the imbalance of my ear piercings a few years ago by trying to get a double piercing. It was successful for a bit, but a few days in I had to take them out because my right ear was trying to catch an infection. On my 30 hour layover in Des Moines Iowa my coworker wanted to get his ear pierced, and this brought up unfinished business between me and my lopsided ear holes. I decided to go with my coworker and try one more time to correct my ears. We made no previous reservations, we came as walk-ins and we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for Abriana our piercer to finish up with a few clients. Once she was finished she came up to us, asked us what we needed and then helped us pick out some earrings. After that she took us to the room to get our piercing done. I went first. I explained my whole dilemma and I felt that my concerns were taken seriously. She took her time with measuring my ear and deciding where to put the second holes. On the left ear she pierced above the original hole, and on the right ear she pierced below the original hole (because that was the hole that was too high). When she pierced me she did it with a needle and not the piercing gun. She said the needle does way less damage on the skin tissue, and therefore allows for a better recovery process. She explained to me just before piercing me that I would need to inhale, and then when I exhale she will pierce me. I appreciated this because I knew what to expect, I also think the breathing method help to make it a little less painful. She was very friendly and super professional. I would definitely recommend her as well as this shop. I'm actually surprised at the reviews here on Yelp. Granted a lot of them are outdated. This place gets great reviews on Google, and I can vouch for those reviews. It's now going on a week and a half and my ears are going strong. No signs of infection to be seen. If you are looking for a professional place to get a piercing, Lucky Gal is the place to go!
