I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I went a few years back the day before my wedding for a facial. When I was waiting, I could hear the employees arguing and yelling in the hall. It wasn't relaxing at all. Aside from that, the aesthetitian insulted me when I told her I don't wear sunblock daily. Obviously if a new client is doing something you don't agree with you should politely tell them how to fix it instead of belitting and shaming them. Why am I writing the review now? I have been getting non stop emails from this place. I try to unsubscribe and the emails keep rolling in! I was looking for places in Tempe to have a facial done using natural products. I found twisted herb alchemy on Groupon and decided to give it a try. I was very pleased with the kind of products that is being used and to know that they are mostly hand made. Virginia explained every process and ingredient and also gave me a written recommendation. Though she had some of the products on sale, she never insisted that we should buy it. I did feel the difference and felt relaxed after the facial. Planning on purchasing a few of her products especially products for lip treatment and sunscreen. I would definitely come back for future treatments and have recommended my friends to try it. First rating I gave one star and reviews as follows: I made an appointment on yelp for today at 11. I got lost and I couldn't get in touch with anyone. I finally found the place and it's locked. I was only 5 minutes late, so I know it's not because I was late. I don't know if yelp made the mistake or this place made a mistake... Either way I guess I'm heading home and I'll look for another place for my skin care needs.... ------------------------------------------------ Second review is as follows: I changed it to four stars after I received a call back apologizing for the mistake/misunderstanding. I received a phone call at noon asking if I wanted to reschedule. Apparently there is an answering service that was supposed to pick up that didn't. There is also more than one office. I went to the address listed on yelp where I booked my appointment and I guess this address was incorrect. The lady that called me back apologized . I feel I am being generous is my new rating. I changed the rating, so it doesn't hurt the business. I feel that people make mistakes and it was good on her part to apologize. There are a few things that I feel they should do to make sure this doesn't happen again ... - make sure the address matches where people book if it's available to book on yelp - before an appointment it would be helpful to call the client to remind them of their appointment and location so there aren't any confusions on location/time, etc. - lastly make sure your answering service is doing their job so you don't lose clients. I had a bad experience and couldn't get in touch with anyone. I drove 40 min and rearranged my schedule to get there. I am upset with what happened but I also understand that mistakes happen. My very first REAL facial EVER & I fell in love. 2 years ago I broke out with cystic acne that scarred my face and made me feel insecure. I'm a professional model and have always had confidence until I started fighting this battle. My girlfriend bought me a facial for my birthday and I selected the customized facial. I'm so happy to have discovered Twisted Herb Alchemy. Since moving to Tempe, I have had facials at four different salons all of which amounted to a relaxing scrub, steam, mask, but no real difference in my skin. I was also looking for facials for. my teens who struggle with acne. Virginia is a godsend. Her facials are treatment facials, not just relaxing facials. She treated my son who has severe acne and his skin looked better immediately. Her prices are very reasonable and she makes her own all natural skincare products in -house. This is constructive criticism for the business. Found this company on Groupon and with the amazing reviews I've been reading I wanted to give them a try and set up an appointment for the same day (if available) I called the store at their number 4 times same one listed here on Yelp as in Groupon, and it kept going to voicemail. I tried scheduling an appointment online and it asked for credit card information before I could even see the availability of their appointments. I would suggest hiring someone in the spa to schedule clients, it gives a more personal touch to the spa and builds good rapport, also I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card information to a business that I didn't know very well about, if you decide to cont. with this service allow the client to see the availability first before asking for personal information. I rate a zero because customer service is EVERYTHING. Especially to new clients, this is how your business grows. First impressions. Every client. Every time. read more

When I recently found Virginia's "Twisted Herb Alchemy" website, I compared her offerings and pricing to others. I liked all of the options she had to offer, especially since I was "shopping for facials" for both my friend and myself. The day of our appointments, in her Tempe office, I was very pleasantly surprised to see all of the formulated products which Virginia offers...what a talented person she is! During my appointment, my "Custom Corrective Facial" treatment was wonderful, with no harsh chemical burning or strong smells. I felt safe knowing that Virginia's products are safe and non-toxic, hand-formulated, and that the products she was using were chosen specifically for my skin that day. Wow! Virginia really takes her time and she definitely knows her stuff! My first time having micro needling, and it was such a relaxing experience. I am already able to see the positive effects of the micro needling on my face. Less sunspots, a little more plump where the crowsfeet and parentheses were, and overall a bit more fullness through the midface. I purchased the package of 3 micro needling treatments, and I cannot wait for my next session in two weeks! She sent me home with a little bag of enough cleansing and toning products for the first week or two. Don't hesitate!
