Anyways, we went over everything again, including pricing, and I was told it would be ready the next day by noon. I came back after work, hours after I was told it would be done. It still wasn't ready. They had to locate my original photo and print/cut everything on the spot while I waited. To their credit, the edits (reducing blur and glare) turned out well, and the attendant was apologetic throughout. However, I also had to return again to pick up my original photo, which they again had trouble locating. Overall, the final product was decent, but the process felt disorganized and inconvenient. I don't usually expect discounts, but given the multiple issues, it would have been nice and I probably wouldn't have written this review. Can't say I recommend them.

Curious, we walked in and spoke to the guy and we decided to give it a try. The difficult part is that you have to hold yourself in position as the plate you are standing on rotates. Also, it's a small plate so if you fit two people on there like I did, there is not a lot of space. When the plate spins for the scan, chances are your legs and feet will be fine, but the head is difficult to hold position. Now the upside is, they now have an instant scanner at Westfield in San Jose so I will have to look into that. As for the printout, they have samples around the store for you to look at. Do they look like smooth surface injection molded figures like you see in the toy store? Absolutely not. I do think that in time, the technology will improve so they can have printers that will do better. Still, it's pretty cool to have a figure of yourself. It's a fun and novel idea. Is it expensive? Well, it is a little high, but you can get the smaller size figure for less money. But no, it's not going to be $9.99 like stuff you can buy at Toys R Us. In a nutshell, I view this is a 3D photograph. A "picture" that is of you but in 3D. I did make an order and I expect to have my figure in a few days. I'm curious to see how we look as a 3D figure. But yes. it's novel and something different for your office desk.

We wanted to have engagement pictures to give to my grandfather (who passed on 10/24/2013) and that never happened. It's been over a year since our free photo session and I still feel like he cheated us out of something special. He promised something we had no hope of getting before and then crushed our hopes when he failed to deliver. I'm in the market now for a photographer for both maternity and newborn pictures and you can BET I am not choosing this one. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN. He won't deliver. Edit to add: We finally got the pictures 4 days before my son was born. Which, I should add, was 14 months AFTER my wedding. Instead, I decided to take my camera back to Camera Repair & Audio Service, where they had repaired it for me before and had done an excellent job. No one picked up every time, they even just sent me straight to voicemail. I end up just driving over to find the place is not busy at the slightest. They just ignore calls. I decided to make the drive out here and just talk to them in person. I've never met someone more dismissive in my life. The owner cuts off everyone who speaks to him. Right in front of me there was a sweet old woman who noticed there was a cash discount that was posted on the well after she handed over her film, she kindly asked to pay in cash for the discount and the owner told her "Nah I already typed in your order I'm not changing it." Shoo's her away after that exchange, and then says goodbye calling her by her first name. Which tells me this is a regular customer that he treats like trash. I'm next, I pull out my super 8 film and before I can even ask a question he says "nah we don't do those you have to go somewhere else" Which is fine. Not everyone processes super 8 (even though the website says they do,) which is an old medium. But the delivery and customer service were horrible. Someone should have answered the phone in the first place so I wouldn't be here "bothering" this guy on his very busy day of sitting around doing nothing. Also, This guys website shouldn't be coded/designed like a 6th grader did it, so that way the information can be clear and easy to read. Their website explicitly says "We transfer 8mm and 16mm film" which makes me believe this owner is just lazy and chooses not to work. It's sad really, the film medium is a dying industry and there are very few people who can be there to revive this medium and unfortunately this one in the Bay Area can choose to help this art form, but instead they choose to be a lazy business owner who has disdain for people who want to support his dying business. I've received better customer service from fast food chains than this place. If/when his business fails it's not because of a lack of customers or demand of services. But at the fault of a pathetic and bitter business owner who does not deserve it. To everyone reading I recommend looking for mail in film transfer.
