Nothing beats a beautiful view of the city, and if youre lucky and get to come on a clear day, you can also see the golden gate bridge! Took my family here a couple weeks ago and it was so clear, there were no clouds in site! the wind was mild and it was super sunny! gosh it really is breathtaking here. this is one of the few viewpoints where I dont mind the drive up because it starts amazing from the bottom, and just gets even better once you reach the top. I always see people park their cars mid way, and hike the rest up, this is a good option if you want a mini little hike to enjoy the views of SF When its busy here, its hard to find parking at the top, but usually people are in and out within 10 minutes so I wouldnt worry too much on the parking situation. Next time i come, I would like to hike it from midway and take more people here:D

What an amazing view of San Francisco! Twin Peaks is one of the tallest peaks in SF Bay Area. You basically see a large view of San Francisco with lots of buildings. I heard that it's one of the popular spots in the Bay Area and I had to come here! People pretty much hike here and there's probably a few hills that you can hike if you want to go further more uphill to see some parts of San Francisco that you probably can't see from a lower elevation. It's a very great tourist spot and I recommend people outside of the Bay Area to visit here when going on vacation. I also went to one of the restrooms here, but one of them is broken. The restroom has its automated features where it cleans and sanitizes after you're done using it. There are instructions that you have to follow if you're unfamiliar with it. You can't just go in after someone left it, because the system will clean the restroom afterwards. Then, you can go in. I seen those in some parts in downtown I believe, but I didn't see anyone use them probably due to malfunction.

We walked up starting at UCSF as a part of the 49 mile walk but you can also drive up and just walk up the actual peaks and around the area near Sutro tower. Be careful- it gets super windy. I consider myself a sturdy shortie but I even felt like I could be taken away or my phone would go flying if I lost my grip. Wear some good walking shoes to hold your ground! I love that the road that heads down to the Castro is blocked off for cars, making it an enjoyable saunter back down to reality. One star off for the wind cause it scared me a little! Get in touch with nature and take some great pics up on the peaks!
Panoramic view of SF. We were able to snatch a parking spot at the top with no issues. We stayed a bit just to see the view of the city. Definitely a tourist spot. It was a super windy day and chilly. Be sure to bring a sweater.
Best time is sunset...easy drive up, plenty of parking at this time, unbeatable views all around. Plenty of room for all guests to take pictures without bumping into eachother.
Always wanted to check this place out and finally make it. Beautiful and breathtaking 360 degrees view of SF, especially if you're here during sunset or sunrise. You can see everything angles from the city, to the mountains, and to the oceans. There are 2 hills that you can climbs (and bit of work and can be deep too) up and enjoys the views. Parking can be difficult sometimes, but if you come early it would be easier to find parking, and you can hike around the trails before the sunset set in. Soo worth it and highly recommended.
Great when it's not foggy! People with children, be aware, half the cars here are filled with people smoking weed, lol!
Love coming here at night, very chill spot. They do close the gates at like 12am tho so if you plan on going hella late you won't be able to get in
I honestly cannot complain much about Twin Peaks other than the wind being really strong, but this has got to be one of the BEST nature views that you can barely get in any other part of life. We took the hiking route and climbed the nature path of what used to be a road to climb up to the peak.
If you want the best views of San Francisco, go to Twin Peaks. The views are fantastic, but I didn't really enjoy the visit. The altitude is high and I had the worst headache of life, even after taking an Advil. If you're prone to or even suspect you may wind up getting a headache, I would take an Advil before heading up there. There's also the fact there it's extremely windy. Again, this combo of altitude and wind didn't fare well for me, but I managed to take a few photos. I would probably return but with better preparation and certainly not at the end of the day.
I've only came here during the night, and it was the last night that I was in San Francisco which wrapped up the trip perfectly. The view of the city from Twin Peaks was beautiful, photos cannot do justice compared to seeing it with your own eyes. Even though lots of people come up here, I was still able to find parking and was able to walk out and enjoy the views offered. San Francisco has a lovely skyline and seeing it from Twin Peaks at night was literally the peak of the trip.
I recently took on the Twin Peaks hike in San Francisco and let me tell you it was an adventure worth its weight in sweat and giggles. First off, the hike, If you're a fan of uphill climbs that feel like you're climbing the StairMaster set to "extreme," then you're in for a treat. My calves are still debating whether they've forgiven me. The view from the top, though? Absolutely worth it. I'm talking a panoramic sight of the city so breathtaking that I almost forgot my legs were plotting a revolt. At that altitude, the Golden Gate Bridge looked like a toy. A funny moment of the hike was when I mistakenly thought the summit was the final destination only to find out there was another steep incline ahead. Cue my dramatic, Oscar-worthy "I can't go on" performance complete with heavy breathing and a tragic monologue about my lost motivation. Also, watch out for the fog, It rolls in like a sneaky ninja. One minute you're admiring the view and the next you're in the middle of a whiteout. All in all, It was fantastic hike with views that makes my struggle worth it. Just make sure you're prepared for a workout And don't forget to pack lots of water and snacks as there are no shops once you start the climb.
An amazing view on a clear day, make sure you check the weather report in case the fog is heavy that day. We got lucky and came in the afternoon during the week. It wasn't too busy. We found a parking spot right away., but it can get crowded. They bring tour buses of people. There is a place to sit, but it does get crowded and if you want to walk all the way up to the Twin Peaks, you can it's a little bit of a hike, but very doable. I did see some public bathrooms. There was a line so I didn't really know if you have to pay for the bathrooms or they're free. There was also a hotdog vendor, other than that, it's just a beautiful view of the city. read more
Amazing 360 degree views of SF! I decided to "run" all the way here, but the elevation gain was so challenging that I walked about half of it. I came here for the sunset which faces the opposite direction of downtown, but the views towards downtown were also very pretty. It was very windy and chilly up here even during the hottest week of the year, so make sure to bring a warm jacket. read more
It's definitely worth the hike. A few tips: - Car break-ins are rampant. Also, there were articles in the Chronicle about people getting mugged here. A lot of people stop by here on the way to the airport, so they have luggage in the back, and that is a targer. - I recommend parking further away, next to Vista Lane. When you park there, do NOT park under a tree, or it will leak sap all over your car. read more

If you want the best views of San Francisco, go to Twin Peaks. The views are fantastic, but I didn't really enjoy the visit. 5 stars to this view but 3 stars to the blistering wind and low temps this FL gal experienced here! Obviously the views trump my intolerance for the wind chill. Coming from Florida, my first thought of Twin Peaks was the restaurant but to my surprise, Twin Peaks in San Francisco is a MUST when you visit to see stunning views of the city. Coming here during sunset was such an amazing experience. Although we barely lasted 5 minutes, this was such a great time of the day to visit, especially on a clear day. We saw a lot of people hiking the "peaks" and even biking up to the top. How they did that with the high speed winds and chill in the air, I can't fathom but I respect it! If you're in the area and want a breathtaking view of the city, visit Twin Peaks! read more

Good for a quick stop if you're touring the city. Probably the best 360, unobstructed view of the skyline at the top of the peaks. Be careful not to leave anything in your car while walking up the peaks; if possible, it's almost a better idea to park in the neighborhood and walk up. Also a good pit stop during a run or while biking. read more
I came to this place multiple times. It's always windy so bring some clothes even you don't feel cold when you start your hiking. There are two bathrooms here. Spectacular view of San Francisco. I especially love the view of market street. You can all the way see the ferry building (from the road west to the place between the two peaks). You need to be there at least twice: one during day time and another during evening. The views are quite different between day and night. If you go from Golden Gate Park, it will take less than two hours hiking there and less than one hour coming back. read more

Where do you go for the best view in town??? Twin peaks of course because it's the 2nd highest peak in San Francisco, with Mt Davidson being the tallest peak. Views are absolutely amazing. As you drive up, there really is two mini peaks, both within walking distance to each other and both have 360 degree views. As you drive further up, there is a paved lookout area with breath taking views of the downtown area. An iconic area to bring visitors for amazing views. read more

Twin Peaks never fails to be the spot for an incredible view of SF day or night. It's a great spot to re-visit with friends and family. You can opt to park or hike up the short but steep trails to take in the view. They do have a public restroom by the parking lot. I highly recommend bundling up since it tends to be chilly and windy. read more
Absolutely stunning! You barely have to "earn" the view (aka hike for miles) either! You drive up and there's a small parking lot at the first peak and a larger parking lot at the second peak. Parking is free and there were a couple of port-a-potties too. Then there's a short climb (less than 100 steps) up to the peak. Do be careful going down though (I almost slipped on the way down). The first peak (with the smaller parking lot) has a better view of the city, but you can easily climb and take pictures at both peaks in under 30 minutes! read more
Love love love coming to Twin Peaks on a gorgeous day in San Francisco. My best friend from college happens to live super close to Twin Peaks so I love coming here every time I visit her. The drive up is actually one of the easier viewpoint drives I've experienced. The lanes are surprisingly wide and there are borders on the edge of the road that makes you feel safe so you won't fall off. The road itself is not that windy, and it takes like 2 minutes to get from the bottom to the top. You can park at the first stop, or you can go up a little higher and there are more parking spots. The view is simply amazing! You can't beat it. Unparalleled views of San Francisco (as long as Karl isn't out;). Great spot for photos, day or night. I loved coming here during the day to see the city but the view at night hits different with all the city lights. Definitely a must-see attraction in San Francisco. And it's free! read more

The view here is amazing feels like your on top of the world, well on top of San Francisco! The road up here is beautiful especially on a sunny no foggy day. There are several stop for you to stop but go for the last one on the top. It is breathtaking especially on a clear sunny day. It always cold in San Francisco but cooker when you are on top of the mountain so make sure you have a jacket. this place is more busy on the weekends afternoon. The sunset view is amazing too but the road is not safe driving during the night. It is San Francisco so break in car is very common, don't leave anything value in the car even if it is an empty bag. read more
Twin Peaks is a scenic spot that offers a 360 degree view of San Francisco. These two hills rise almost 1000 feet above the City and sit just about in its geographical center. I came here on a foggy and chilly day in August! That's the typical Bay Area for you. It's name wasn't called that by the Spanish settlers. They named it Los Pechos de la Chola, or The Breasts of the Indian Woman. Wow! Who knew, right? Lol ;) No one knows now what the Indians called it, but according to Ohlone legend, there was once only one mountain-hill, consisting of a man and a woman. Because they wouldn't stop their constant arguing, the Great Spirit separated them, and they became two hills-mountains. Anyway, it's a popular spot among locals and tourist such as myself. Overall, I liked the view it offered and I highly recommend this scenic spot. read more
Wow.. this is a must see spot when visiting SF. It is worth the short drive to get there and you get 360 degree views of the whole city! We went for sunset and it surely didn't disappoint. I am really thankful we heard about this spot from Yelp so that we were able to experience it!! Best views of SF in my opinion. You are able to drive right up to Twin Peaks and get incredible views, and if your health allows, you can take a short walk up one of the peaks to get even more views. This is a must see spot on any trip to SF. read more

No I've been up there a lot at night and have never seen it blocked off. Just be careful of the raccoons that come out at night! 😂

Absolutely we parked at the top and only needed to walk ~50ft across the parking lot to get the incredible vista view....It was windy
What weather specific conditions are best to enjoy twin peak AT NIGHT? I want to go at night when it's crystal clear. What visibility? Temp? Cloud cover? Wind speed? Would be appropriate?
Since it's basically high up in the mountains, it gets really cold. I would suggest wearing a thick, warm jacket and/or being a blanket. The best weather to go there is clear skies, meaning no fog and little to no wind. That is, if you're going…

You would have to drive up. Once you are there I can walk around to different sites. Morning or Night. You are gomna get good views. You can probably see more in the morning
Can you go at night for the city light views?
Yes it's open. No formal entrance- just drive up. At night is the best anyway!
Can you smoke?
I say smoke around your car and do not inconvience anyone, especially the kids. Now that said, do as you please as long as you do not cause harm to yourself or to others.
