Great day to stop at Twin Peaks! Our first time at the McAllen location & we were not disappointed. We stopped in around 4pm they were steadily busy but not too busy (it's a Wednesday after all) Our server was courteous & knowledgeable with a pleasant smile. The female staff was wearing red today but not the customary plaid top but still cute. I went with my go to mini tacos & yes, they were amazingly delicious. Hubby tried the chicken strips & fries (channeling his inner child; his words) they were hot & delicious also. My Corona was icy cold & perfect, hubby's ice tea was less than perfect but that may have us as we're tea snobs & expect our tea to be perfect. Trust us it wasn't worth saying anything. I love this place. I visit the RGV a LOT for work and this really has become my favorite place for dinner, even more than Ojo Locos... The food is really good and I like the menu honestly. I usually get the fish and chips, the meatball plate is good and the smash burger is phenomenal! The staff are just amazing, I particularly would like to give a big shout out to Meaghan and Calista, for being such wonderful and sweet waitresses. Absolutely Horrible Experience at Twin Peaks - Never Again 901 Interstate Hwy 2, W Expy 83, McAllen, TX 78503 Date: 9/6/2025 We called ahead to confirm that Twin Peaks would be showing the UTRGV football game. They said yes, so my family and I packed up in our tailgate gear and went in excited. But from the moment we sat down, things started to unravel. First, we were told they wouldn't be showing the game after all. Fine--I figured I could stream it on my phone while we ate. My daughter ordered BBQ chicken wings and fries, I had nachos, my wife a salad, and my niece tacos. Everything seemed normal until disaster struck. My daughter suddenly jumped up and ran to the restroom covering her mouth. When we looked at her plate, we saw an earwig crawling out from under her french fries. Yes--an actual bug in the food. I flagged down staff and got the manager, expecting him to take this seriously. Instead, his response was to pick up the tray and casually say, "It's alive, so it's fine--I'll just replace it." Are you kidding me?! That's not how you handle a health hazard. We refused to finish our meals and drinks. The manager's "solution" was to comp the fries and wings, tell us to "have a nice day," and walk away. Meanwhile, multiple waitresses apologized and even admitted that management has been terrible. Other customers saw what happened, I showed them pictures, and people started leaving. The manager came back later still brushing it off, saying it could've come from anywhere. I told him, "Sorry, but earwigs don't just appear in clean kitchens--if one made it to our table, there's a bigger problem in the back". The manager's name was Joe Blas. I left furious. We should've gone to 5x5 Brewery in Mission--they had the game on, great service, and never once have we had an issue there. Bottom line: Twin Peaks has a management problem and based on our experience, a bug infestation issue. If you care about food safety, your family's health, or basic respect from management, stay away. If anyone knows someone at the Health Department, please share this. That place needs to be inspected immediately. read more

When I brought it to management "Keith" he was condescending and claimed my burned corn was exactly how roasted corn is suppose to look and taste. I even emailed corporate, but no response. We visited the restaurant on [07/20/23] around 11 PM, looking forward to a pleasant dining experience. However, my encounter with the waitress named Daisy left me deeply disappointed. Upon arrival, we were not attended to until 11:18 PM as Daisy engaged in conversations with other tables, seemingly ignoring our presence. When we finally placed our orders, it took more than 10 minutes just to receive a glass of water. The situation worsened when our food arrived promptly at 11:45 AM, but our bar drinks were never served. Throughout our visit, Daisy remained distant, failing to ask if we needed anything or offer refills. Instead, she seemed preoccupied with chatting with her co-workers, neglecting her responsibilities towards us as customers. To our dismay, when we decided not to leave a tip on our checks due to the unsatisfactory service, Daisy confronted us directly, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. Her loud remarks to her co-workers about our decision to not tip only added to our embarrassment. Her remarks are as followed "Write down their names so they'll never come back" and as we walked out the restaurant she shouted at us "don't ever come back if you're not going to leave a tip" that is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to a customer and it is something that should never be allowed to happen. As someone who values the hard work of food service employees, I believe tips should be earned through attentive and respectful service, which was regrettably lacking during our visit. I hope this feedback reaches the management, as I strongly believe that customer service should be a priority in any establishment. Floors of men's restroom are sticky. I believe in second chances but I doubt I'll be returning to Twin Peaks for a meal. Been there 3X and run into the same issue. Why do you all insist on sitting parties of 2 on a table that sits 8 to 10 people? The wait time is horrendous because of this. A standing policy should be in place where you accommodate parties of 4 or less on smaller tables and parties of 6 on booths! The bigger tables should be given to actual parties of 8 or more. You also have one person on a table of 8 or more waiting for their party who arrive one hour to two hours later. Ridiculous! This is a failure on management who don't have a true concept of running a restaurant. I say this referring to the two idiots who sat at that table of 8. When asked politely by a waitress if they could go to a smaller table, they refused and responded that they were good friends with the manager who allowed them to sit there. Mind you, the very young female manager looked about their age as well....young and inexperienced. Don't sit anyone down unless their entire party is there. And for the customers who go to this establishment, this is not a strip bar. Just because the waitress flirts with you doesn't it mean that she's going home with you! Don't lolly gag and hold the table hostage because you think she's into you. They are just being polite but they really want you to leave so another customer can leave a tip. The sad part are the old men that sit at the bar who think they have a chance with these young bartenders. Grow up and let them do their jobs. They have the entire restaurant to serve and not just you. You are 50 plus already you shameless perverts! I get it...enjoy the view but don't hold them up with senseless conversations of dating/going home with you when you know darn well you don't stand a chance. Took them one hour to serve me a beer while waiting at a table and my food was completely wrong. Ugh! To the owner, you need more experienced managers and staff that know how to handle and accommodate big crowds. Discourage table hoarding by not sitting anyone who claim to have a large party until everyone is there. Give them perhaps a 15 minute window and if not there, on to the next customer. For smaller crowds, please use the smaller tables. One positive note....thank you for not blaring norteno/Banda music like Ojos Locos or Buffalo Rings and Wings that attracts a certain clientele. That's why there are security guards always at those locations patting people down for weapons. Please keep this restaurant classy and don't turn it into another valley hoodlum crap hole. We were cut off by a rude manager while we drank at the bar with a few other patrons, we were told that for the safety of ourselves and other we could not drink anymore unless we ordered food, at this point we had ate chips and salsa and a burger/chicken fried chicken plate, as we informed the "manager" she switched it to being too loud, even thought he whole establishment was loud we were too loud because we are joking around with the people next to us. When we asked why we were getting cut off, the lady said the same thing and now said we had too much to drink, 3 beers and a mixed drink at this point. The fact that she switched up on us not having ate anything and is having drank too much and us being too loud is completely unprofessional and begs to wonder why they have a sports bar where patrons are not allowed to be loud and have fun. As we sat down and ordered drinks. I already had one. It was only for my group of friends. The "manager" I suppose came up to us and said I'm basically cut off because I'm over served on drinks. This "manager"did not introduce who he is and what he does there. He had no name tag. Also not in work uniform. He's a imposter for all I know. I completely understand if there's a drink limit. I did not argue or say anything for that matter. There's a better way to go about this than just be rude about it with no introduction or warning. On top of that, my friends were not served either.
