It sat so long the battery died, and it wasn't even started. A week, and not even a fucking phone call. When I show up pissed off to pick it up, not even an explanation or apology. You dirtball, hackjob, pieces of garbage. To top it off, this asshole will not guarantee any work unless you buy his parts at "dealer price" with a generous mark up. He tells me this when I mention I know a place that will rebuild my hydraulic pump for $400, while he wants to sell me one for $2k. Funny, he won't gauruntee work with a rebuilt pump, but he asks me for the place that does it so he can use it. He is a crook, he is unprofessional, and the broken down piles of junk outside should be warning enough. You sincerely make me miss my mercedes mechanic in Pittsburgh. REALLY great people! I had a car that broke-down on the side of a busy road late the other night…read more Long story short but the jist was that I had abandoned the broken car until the next morning. I called Hi-Tech Auto when they opened, they responded very speedily. I also had no other car to meet them at the abandoned car location but they quickly offered to come to me and get the key to the abandoned car. I informed them the location and they went to retrieve it...unfortunately it was no longer at the place it had died. Hi-Tech Auto made a few phone calls and tracked the car's location to an impound. They patiently worked with me, I had to pick up cash at the bank for the impound. Hi-Tech Auto took care of the headache of retrieving the impounded car for me and brought it back to the destination I specified. Very PRO, very communicative throughout the entire process, super honest, generous with their time, all at a very reasonable price considering how much time they took to get this job resolved for me. A++ to Hi-Tech Auto! Highly recommend!

Scott is a brilliant troubleshooter and takes the time to make sure everything is fixed completely the first time. He is transparent, fair, humble, and kind. The reviews about fixing the light bulb and the rubbing sound are very familiar. One day I lost an exhaust holder. He gave me metal coat hangers to rig it until I had time to fix it properly even though he was extraordinarily busy. Scott is a kind man, a man of his word, and the best (and most thorough) mechanic I've ever met. Plus his prices are fair and reasonable.

My new go to mechanic!…read more I had been going to Ventrice Auto for years but unfortunately the owner Rocky passed away and the service hasn't been the same since so I decided to give my local Mr Tire a try. I was not pleased with them either as they recommended work that wasn't needed and their prices where high for the work provided and not to mention, items were stolen out of my car while it was there so I desperately needed a new mechanic! My wife was referred to Kalven by a good family friend. Her car needed a state inspection and some brake work done. We made an appointment and dropped her car off. Kalven promised that her car would be done later that same day as she would need it for work the following day and it was! He showed us the condition of the old rotors and pads compared to the new ones. I was so impressed with his work that I decided to let him work on my car as well. I needed brakes as well and was told by Mr Tire that I needed a new wheel hub as I had a strong vibration when I would brake heavily. Kalven let me know that it was my brake caliper as it was rubbing against my rotor. He said he would try to fix it instead of just putting on a whole new caliper to try to save me some money. When's the last time a mechanic tried to save you some money? He was able to repair it without having to change out the brake caliper! I also had Kalven do some suspension work on my car as well. It now drives even better than the day I bought it! Kalven is a very smart man as he has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He has even given me a discount on work he has done multiple times! He is a honest and ethical mechanic and does not try to up sell you on work that you don't need! It was nice talking to him about his family and life while he finished up my paperwork. If your are in need of a good and honest mechanic I highly recommend him! Kalven and the guys at Pitt Stop will be the only ones working on my and my wife's cars from now on!
