I was traveling through this interesting area and found myself on this street lined with boutique…read moreshops! It was a lovely spot on a sunny winter day, so I got out and scanned the offerings. This bookstore jumped out at me, and I knew I needed to take a look. Having a very young niece, I'm constantly on the hunt for books to enrich her developing mind. I hit the jackpot with this place! The owner has a wonderful spirit and is exceptionally helpful in showing a new customer around. I love a small business with passion for its offerings, it's critical for the atmosphere to be just right. You can feel the passion in this space. Having done a lot of my shopping online over the last few years, I don't often venture into shops. But this one pulled me in and rewarded me with a bounty of books for my darling girl, and I'll be taking trips to this area, specifically with the store in mind! I didn't have any thought to look at adult offerings but I'll make sure to do that on future visits. Right now it's all auntie brain all the time! Come in with an open heart and on the hunt for literary treasures. There are new books and used books to choose from! It's so fabulous and truly magical.

There's always a wide variety of interesting new and used books to find here! They have some books…read morespecific to Whidbey Island and its history. There's a nice section of children's books as well. I also really appreciate the reading area in the back with seating and a few toys that help keep the kiddos entertained while you shop. It's a great little shop in downtown Oak Harbor!

Parking was super easy because there is a HUGE parking lot. It's in a big strip mall that has lots…read moreof space. They have a large selection and everything is well organized. Almost any kind of merch you can find and even some older groups and k pop idol merch can be found here. Everyone is friendly and super helpful. Will definitely be back if I'm looking for anything.

The first time I came here, I didn't know much about K-pop so it wasn't as exciting. Once I started…read moregetting more into it, I decided to check it out again and saw they had moved closer to the food court and they had way more selection. I'm still new to this genre so it's kind of overwhelming to a newbie. The customer service has always been amazing every time I've stopped in -- including online interactions. The store itself is very vibrant and cute. My first purchase, I bought merchandise for my cousin because she loves Kun from WayV and I was able to find a couple versions with him! They specifically offered one of the albums to me for the price they were going to sell during their Anniversary event which was so generous because I was unable to attend. They even let you choose 1 freebie per purchase which is really nice. I do feel the prices here can be steep but the WayV items I bought were a really decent price. After checking out both Kpop Station locations and Pop pop gifts, the customer service alone at The Kpop Empire makes me want to support this business instead. They are definitely more personable and accommodating. Bonus: They also informed me of the events they host for the community and I love that!

One of the smaller Kinokuniya Bookstores that I've visited (it's a corner shop in Uwajimaya grocery…read morestore), but it still gets the job done! Studio Ghibli merch area right upon entering the shop, of course, of course. Decent selection of pens (I got a couple). The second level is dedicated to English-translated manga books as well as anime/video game art books and knick-knacks (sorta all in random assortment.....gotta do some thorough browsing). Since it is a small shop, the aisles are a little cramped. Kinda stuffy too, especially on the second level. Polite staff!

At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.
